HI everyone: 156 today, down a pound, without fasting. Feeling ok. Hot yesterday and forecast same today. because of the humidity, it feels hotter than the thermometer tells us. This is the way of the future, I think. Packing up part of the kitchen today, as tomorrow we think the the counter is getting put it. Hoping to hear from the counter company to confirm delivery today.
Carol Sue, I hope you find the way to managing food choices that you can work with. No judgement though, I am struggling regularly.
Trish: you are doing well maintaining in the low 180s. When I think where you were a couple of years ago, this is a big change overall.

Have a good day friends.

I had a terrible night. Pain, no sleep. Its like this after going to the casino. They have big cushy chairs that are supposed to be comfy, but I hurt the next day after sitting on them.

DH wanted to go out for breakfast. I said no. Its automatic after a night at the casino. He is a creature of habit. Then, since we're in the area he wants to go to Goodwill. It takes up my whole morning when I want to do other things. We have different likes.

I guess I'm just in a mood to complain. I don't dare get on the scale. My scale isn't working right. It makes sounds, if you lost, gained or stayed the same. For some reason it stopped. I checked everything and can't find why. Its not a big deal. Just fun to hear when you lose. Maybe I will take the batteries out and let it reset.

Fatmad, Hope your cabinets get delivered and put in tomorrow. It does feel good to be in the low 180s and I'm kind of getting used to the slow weight loss, but then I don't seem to have a choice.

Our temps will be in the higher 90s all week and they say by this time next week we may see some 3 digit temps. Ugh. Thank God for AC.

Carol Sue, Sorry you are had a bad night with the pain. Hope you feel better soon.

I managed to lose 1 lb this month. At least I lost it and didn't gain it. Hoping for a better month this month. But we will see. Starting back on my other exercises but taking them slowly. Funny thing is that starting back low feels like I'm not doing them at all, but I know slow is better. I slept good when I finally got to sleep. I was hurting plus I had to get up several times due to the potty issues. May have to take the fish oil every other day. Not taking one today because I'm going to the beauty shop tomorrow for a perm.

DH had to order a new pc because his went out. He tried to fix it but then it wouldn't even turn on. So we are going out a little earlier today because we got an email from UPS that it is being delivered this afternoon instead of tomorrow. So will just go to the local store since it is closer. We can go there and also get McDs and get back home so we don't miss the delivery.

Have a nice day everybody.

Well, I really screwed up my scale. I was just trying to get the sound to work. We changed the batteries, then we left them out a while to allow it to reset. I uninstalled the app from my phone then reinstalled it. That's when the problems began. Its not working the way its supposed to. Every time I do something it prompts me to step on the scale. The good part is it is now measuring my weight lower than it was this morning. Ha ha!! I'm still up, 188.2. 190 is staring me in the face. I am just out of control. I can promise to clean this up but I don't know if I can follow through. I hope I can.

Trish, I dont think I have had any affects, from fish oil. Maybe because you have such a short eating window you are taking it on an empty stomach. I'm starting back with it today and I take it twice a day. I hope it takes effect before I get my blood work done next month.

We are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. I will get a grilled chicken salad, no cheese and no fries. NO BREAD! Water to drink.

By the way, once I got up moving around my pain was gone. I didn't even take anything for it. This happens sometimes.

Carol Sue, Hope you get the scale to work and that it will be nice.

I've been taking Krill because we have a lot of it but when DH saw that fish oil was for triglycerides, I thought maybe I need to go back to it. I may have just had too much fat yesterday with the baby back ribs. I won't take it today and maybe even tomorrow and see what happens. It doesn't hurt to have good BMs but just don't like it when I have to get to a potty really fast especially when out. I haven't had that in a while and don't want to go back to having it again.

I actually had a clean fast today and I weighed again when we got home from the store and before I ate and the scale showed I was 181.4. Of course, I didn't count it but sure hope it will be a real weight loss soon.

I also noticed that the more I moved around the better I felt and the pain just went away. I'm thinking that maybe some of my problem is I am sitting too much. I also hope to start fasting more. I did good fasting until main meal today and not hungry so hoping to fast tonight. Shooting for a 23 hr fast by the time we eat tomorrow since we are having Long John Silvers tomorrow.

Good for you on the loss, Trish. Even if it doesn't hold, every time we bounce lower is a step in the right direction.

From what I've read, krill oil is better than fish oil. But fish oil is what my cardiologist told me to take years ago. It comes by prescription but he said I could use the OTC if I wanted to.

I think the fasting is what really helps with weight loss. I stopped eating around 5 then took a nap so I am going to have a better overnight fast tonight. The grilled chicken salad at Texas Roadhouse was disappointing and not nearly as good as Bob Evans. Bob Evans gives you a freshly grilled chicken breast sliced on top of the salad. The chicken today was not warm. It seemed like those chicken strips you can buy to put on a salad. I will not order it again. DH thinks it is because they are a steak house, but they have other chicken dishes that are good. If I want a salad again I will get steak or salmon.

I think I got my scale working again. It still doesn't have sound. This changed about a week or so ago. It might be because of changes I made to my phone and how it behaves with apps. I don't think the problem is with the scale itself. The sound comes from the app on my phone. I will leave it along be for now.

I'm going to go to bed now so I don't eat again.

Carol Sue, I'm sorry your salad was a disappointment. I don't like those frozen chicken strips etc for salads or even fajitas. They don't taste right to me. Glad you scale is working, but sorry it won't talk to you.

The first doctor we had when we moved here put DH on a prescription for fish oil, but when we couldn't afford it, she told him he could use 0TC. I may just keep using the krill and let DH have the fish oil and talk to our doctor about it when we see him in August.

I also think fasting helps too and want to at least do 19:5 ratio as much as possible. I'm not sure what time I ate dinner today but I will figure around 2:30 and I had a snack at 8:30 so I guess I had a 7 hr eating window. I had 1 small strawberry and 1/2 a PB sandwich. I always think of DH Mother when I make me a half PB sandwich. She would as me to make it because she said DH didn't put enough PB on it. LOL She was a sweetheart. Anyway, I ended up with 1167 calories 87 carbs total,
74 net and that was just eating not trying to balance anything.

I'm going to bed early tonight to since I am going to the beauty shop tomorrow. Appointment is at noon, but may leave early to go to Dollar Tree since I need to pick up a few things over there. Plus that will give me some walking exercise.

Today I showed the value of staying on plan in an eating window. I didn't realize until bedtime that I only had 31 grams of carb, 1290 calories. I felt thin when I got up and weighed 186.4, and that was at 5 am. So maybe the bump up was fluid. It seems the only real carbs I have these days are bread and I didn't have any yesterday. I don't count vegetable carbs.

A 5-6 hour window is best for me. If I am able to delay my first meal until 11-12 and have dinner at 4. If I eat breakfast earlier that makes me want lunch. Not from hunger, but just wanting to eat.

Today is going to be a long day because I got up so early. I woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep. I often go back to bed but DH got up because he has to put the garbage out. Then he has to drive step daughter to work because her car is broke down.

Yesterday I stopped at the local grocery store for a head of lettuce. They are higher priced. The lettuce was $3!! But I needed it and it looked very fresh so I bought it. I don't know how they stay in business. Their prices are so high and you rarely see anyone with a full cart. People go there and only buy a few things.

Carol Sue, I also wonder how our local store can sell things so much higher than Walmart. I told D yesterday that it is terrible when I can get better lettuce from Walmart than I can from them and I pay more. I fussed because Walmart's salad dressing that used to be less than a dollar is now closer to $2, but I noticed at the local store it is almost $3 so I guess I should be thankful for Walmart. The crazy thing is that is their store brand. We had to get DH cauliflower there or we would have gone to Walmart.

Weight this morning was 181.4 and FBG 101. Come on 179. A great June 1st start. I honestly believe the fasting and a lot of prayer is what is making it all happen right now. Whatever, I just hope I keep steadily losing like this way for while before I hit another stall. BTW, this is crazy, I realized last night that I graduated from high school 61 yrs ago today. Now that makes me feel really old.

The new pc DH got has to go back. Once he did updates on it, a few things never would work on it anymore. I told him to send it back and he can order another one or we can go look at Best Buy. So I will go get my perm, come home and get him to take it to UPS to send it back and then get LJS on the way back home so we can get it all done before rush hour traffic.

Have a nice day Everybody.

Trish, of all the things I buy in Wal-Mart its surprising that the price never went up on tomatoes. They never went up from $1.99. I'm just waiting.

We took step daughter to work, went for breakfast, Walmart, the local grocery and home by 9:30. Amazing.

We were talking to a server we see all the time at Bob Evans. I asked her if she ever eats breakfast after serving it to customers all morning. She is thin. She said she doesn't eat breakfast or lunch and doesn't eat until she gets home. DH said he doesn't know how she does that. I told him I could do it and he laughed and said he wants to see me do it once! So I told him I will do it tomorrow, but he's not allowed to make food for me and put it in front of me. He said he does that because he feels sorry for me. I can't wait to see what he does.

Today was a high calorie day of 1503 calories and carbs and sodium were very high. The good thing is that I did a 4 hr eating window. This is what happens when I don't plan ahead of time. Tomorrow will be a planned eating day. So I have taken a Lasix this evening because, my lower legs and feet felt so heavy that it took me forever to go to sleep. I had to drink 2 cups of chamomile, took half a Benadryl before I finally went to sleep sometime between 3 and 4 am. I sure hope I can get comfortable tonight and sleep.

My hair is curly, curly. She curled it really tight. This perm may last longer than 3 mos. It was good to see her. She changed DS appointment so that she got there just as she got my perm rolled then did her hair while my perm set. When DS left she finished my perm. I go back in 6 weeks to get a hair cut.

Goodnight.

I didn't get on the scale yet. But I wanted to document what happened this morning. DH left to take step daughter to work. My first thought was "He's going to bring breakfast from McDonalds." Bingo! Not even 12 hours after we had the conversation about not eating until dinner. He says I don't have to eat it. But he's not going to eat it. I told him to put it our for the birds. Its sitting in there on the counter. Calling my name. Carol!! What doesn't kill me makes me stronger!

At 9:30 he ate watermelon and asked if I want some. I said No thank you. He said "You're allowed to eat it. Its mainly water.". I'm ALLOWED?? I told him I'm allowed to eat whatever I want, I just don't want!!

Now to go check the scale. Up to 187. That's ok. It will go back down.

Carol: I hear your frustration. And having him undermine you is hard. Maybe a week of it and he will lose interest.
Trish: keep it up. its hard to do over time, but you got this.

I am really pleased, I was 156 this am. I have not had a long fast for a while, but doing low(wish) carb and 2MAD with occasional OMAD is working for me, and I am losing weight.
I am relieved, because I didn't feel this long term alternate day fasting was working well for me, and was tiring and frustrating.
I have been working a lot physically lately, outside and with my community, so I have felt the need for food energy to do this. So its all working. I still have to be careful about how much I take on, last night after supper I was pushing myself because we wanted to clean up the kitchen after the work was done, and put stuff back into the cupboards etc. But after that, neither DH or I had much energy to take Buddy out for his evening squirt. This is necessary because he won't do his business in our fenced back yard. DH managed it, but I was falling asleep while he was out for that 10 minutes. After that we were in bed at 930 pm and slept until after 7 today.

Have a good day friends.

Carol Sue, So sorry that DH is not helping with your plan. Maybe if you take it and throw it out for the birds he will learn. Who knows? Praying for you. I was telling my beautician yesterday that I think DBIL doesn't really help DS with her diet plan either because he brings home things she shouldn't eat. But she e ats a lot of starchy foods and doesn't like veggies.

Fatmad, I think being busy helps you with your weight loss. I am learning that the best thing for my joints is the light exercise and the pain goes away and it is obviously good for my weight loss too.

Weight this morning is 180.8. My goal is to get into the 170s hopefully this month. FBG is still good too at 103.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Trish, 179 is just a deep breath away! Good for you!

Mad, I think you are making a good decision switching your eating plan from EOD fasting that isn't working for you. If it isn't something you can do long term its best to change it.

Rusty normally does his business in the back yard. DH takes him out front in the evening when he sits on the porch. Last night I guess he had to go so he did, right on the front steps!

Our old sliding glass door used to freeze shut sometimes in the winter. Once we could not get it open so we let our then dog out the front. He didn't want to go in the front. So he ran around to the back to go. But we couldn't let him back in! DH had to defrost the door with a hair dryer. Dogs have their own habits.

DH. I guess if I stuck to my guns he would get used to it. Being the foodie I am its very hard to stick to my guns with him waving food in my face every moment. It would be nice if he would help. I don't have a problem with him eating. It doesn't bother me having his food in the house. He can make a sandwich in the evening and I'm fine. Until he eats half and waves the other half in front of me. If I don't take it he says he's going to throw it away. But he doesnt. He lets it sit on the counter. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I guess I just have to be strong, but the food looks good, and honestly, I want to eat it and he knows it. But I also want to lose weight. Which one do I want more? I want to be the one who decides what and when I eat.

_______________________________

I stuck to my guns for today. I didn't get unsufferably hungry. All I had was black coffee until we went to Bob Evans for dinner. I liked that I was able to order what I wanted, eat it all and still stay below my calories and carbs for the day. I would like to do this more often, maybe not every day. I don't want to get into a pattern. I would like to vary my eating windows from day to day. But for now I want to do it enough that he will know it wasn't a one and done. Know what I mean?
