Mad, that casino buffet is closed. The only food they have is a food court with pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers and such. They do have good salads. Its usually a non eating day for me as that food doesn't interest me other than a salad occassionally. DH will get a hot dog to eat on the drive home. My weight is usually down the next morning.

We go on off days during the week when its not crowded. The crowds are on Friday and Saturday. We didn't go then even before covid. I. feel pretty safe.

The scale was happy to show me how bad I've been. I'm up to 191. I'm not gap y but I did this to myself.

DH eats a lot of Pastaroni from a box for his lunch. Yes, its pasta, but sauces like alfredo, butter and herb, no tomato. Maybe that's why he doesnt want pasta for dinner. But with chili, he prefers canned to my homemade. I'm not a good cook. I have a few things that I do well, but I never get into involved recipes. He probably wouldn't eat it anyway and we eat dinner together. That's why we end up eating out so much. We usually go around 3 pm. That's between lunch and dinner and restaurants are relatively empty then. I like ravioli, but only meat ravioli, and I buy it frozen in bags. A bag is usually 2 meals for us. I make my own lasagna but I've cut it down to a 9x9 pan for the two of us. That's something he will eat leftover for his lunch but not dinner. He wants a new dinner each night. He cooks very little. If I lived alone there wouldn't be much to eat in the house and I wouldn't bother to go out for it. I would be thin and have more money!

The furnace just came on again. I think he has it set to come on at a certain temperature. The next few days are going to be very cold.

Carol Sue and Mad My DH is picky about what he will and will not eat. He will eat almost anything made with any kind of tomato sauce. He only seems to like Stoffer's frozen lasagna and like Carol Sue's DH he only likes chilli made from canned and it has to made mixing 1 can of chilli with and 1 can without beans and added tomato sauce or juice to make it more soup like. I used to make some of the best TX type chilli but he wouldn't eat and I probably couldn't make it any more. He hates cassarolles which I loved and grew up eating occasionally. DH #1 loved them but DH #2 didn't like them either. Never new why DH#2 didn't like them since he loved eating and would try almost anything at least once. I figure the problem with DH is that he doesn't like his food mixed together. He wants it served separately. I watched one Rick Steves shows where he traveled to Holland and he went to a place there and they set out a large number of individual foods like 26 little dishes. He said that you were to eat a little from each one one at a time and in a certain order and you never put a little of what you wanted to try on one plate. Since my husband's ancestors came from a little town in Holland, that really helped me understand that he is a throw back from his culture. Which is strange because he wasn't raised to eat that way. It makes me wonder how his Dad ate because his mother didn't eat that way. He eats salad 1st, meat next and then his veggies... same order everytime.
..
Well, my fasting till 3 and not caving and eating last night when I got hungry paid off. I either stayed the same or only bounced up .2 lbs or came down .2. Scale bounced between 183.8 and 184.2 and even stopped at 184 at one point. Never got it to stay at any one lb so I counted the 184.2. Any way I figure either way I did good because I usually bounce up at least 1 or 2 lbs after spaghetti so .2 lbs is a great improvement. I will plan better today. We are having pan grilled pork tenderloin pork chop and I think I will start making either a tuna, chicken or egg salad to eat for supper at night so I can stay within a 4 hr eating window and 2MAD. I seem to getting used to the 20 hr fast and would love to keep it going.

I read somewhere yesterday that some people lose weight without changing diet by just drinking plenty of water. DBS and I talked yesterday and we both agreed we need to drink more water. I know they say any liquid counts as water but I'm not sure. I am beggining to think more water is important. She also told me how she takes those diet cranberry juices and dilutes in it water. I've also started drinking decaf green tea and I take concentrated lemon juice and squirt some of it in water and make myself lemonade with it. No diet drinks any more.

They are getting the covid booster shots here now although the doctor's office told DH they don't have many of them and she didn't know which one they have. DH DD said they are mixing them at at her doctor's office. She evidently had the Pfizer 2 shots and Moderna booster because they thought it work better. She seems to have a lot of trust in her doctor's she works for and they really take care of her as well. So I may check to see when Walmart gets theirs because I think they have Moderna.

Mad I'm curious as to what have you may have heard about them. Do you have an opinion?

Hope everybody has a great day.

Trish, they talk about the booster on TV and are saying its ok to mix them and they recommend which one but I don't remember what they said.

You are really doing great Trish. I remember how you struggled years back but now you have found a healthy plan that works for you. I am proud of you and want to be more like you. You are so lucky that you've worked it out with DH by making things he likes and he eats what you prepare. Its helping his health, too.

I didn't want to go out today and told DH he could do what he wanted because I didn't want dinner. He told me to make spaghetti but I didn't have any. I stopped buying it because he said he didn't want it anymore. So I made ravioli. It was delicious. So I've had 1100 calories and I hope I don't eat more today. Maybe its the weather that is making me eat so much.

Today the woman two doors up was outside cutting grass. The neighbor across the street hollared over and asked how she felt and she said ok. So now we think they tested positive but were not hospitalized.

I think water is the best choice but all liquids count as fluid. It depends on who you ask. I still have diet soda occasionally but much less than I used to. Mostly morning coffee, water, and tea or lemonade from the packets I bought. I carry the packets in my purse and sometimes add them to water I drink when out.

Today I read that OMAD is ok but not every day because you don't get enough protein or other nutrients. I think when you want to lose weight you do what works.

Carol Sue I agree that the best thing can do is what works for us individually. I've worked on a personal plan for so many years and now I just want to enjoy what I like that is as healthy as I can make it and lose weight.

My calories today was 1150s. I don't remember exactly. And have done this within a 4 hr eating window and the plan is to be finished for the day. I am not sure I will stay with the 2MAD or if I do, I may have to go back to brunch and dinner and try not to eat anything else although that hasn't worked out too well for me so far. I got really shakey today before I got lunch cooked. So not sure how long I can do it this way. Not giving up yet, just not sure about it. I still have a few tricks I can try to make it work.

Good thing we went to the casino yesterday instead of today. Around 7 pm there were severe storms in the area of the casino with tornado warnings. We had rain here but not severe. We got calls because people know we often go on Thursday.

I would test blood sugar when I get shaky like that. It can be uncomfortable but probably just your body telling you its hungry.

I didn't sleep well last night. Tossed and turned a lot. I don't feel like getting on the scale until I get my eating back under control. Sorry to be a Debby Downer.

Trish, I have to ask you about your Texas chili. Does it have beans in it? Some people say chili should not have beans. I like it with beans. DH said my chili is too watery and should be thick. I can make it thick! He wanted macaroni in it so I added more water. I will try making it thicker and without macaroni. I love chili and I'm not going to give it up. I don't like it really spicy but I can add more spice. Bob Evans had the best chili. The manager said she doesn't think they are having it anymore. Texas Roadhouse has chili but I never tried it. Not many restaurants have it that we go to. I will only give it up if DH gives up potatoes!

Carol Sue Glad y'all changed your casino day and weren't in the bad weather. I hate traveling in the rain and really hate it in storms but never seams to bother DH.

Yes, we always had beans in our TX chilli. I tell you my Daddy made the best chilli you ever ate. In fact, BS has a son who wouldn't only eat chilli if his Papa made it when he was little. I've heard the famous TX chilli recipe was President Johnson's recipe but I don't know if that is true or not. But if you want to know what is in it you might could Google it.

Well, I didn't sleep much either. I had a hard time going to sleep which was bad since I had to get up early to go to the beauty shop. My hair is back to its own natural gray highlights and I think I like it better. I now DH does. So I won't play with it any more. Then I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep so ended up getting up early. So didn't even get 6 hrs sleep. I will probably nap this afternoon. Weight was the same as yesterday except it hit 184.2 but I think if I could have slept and weighed later it would have been 184 even.

I fasted until 12:45 and had a Fiber One bar with a cup of coffee because it was too late to eat. We will have Stoffer's lasagna today instead of tomorrow because I took longer than usual at the store and had forgotten to take any meat out of the freezer. Although I am using a lot of FF foods, I am going to be eating less fat and more WWSF foods and counting calories.

Shelves starting to look bare but not sure if it is shortage or just people ordering their groceries to pick up or have delivered. DS still orders and lets someone else shop for her and either deliver or she picks it up depending on whether she wants to get out. I guess I'm too picky. #1 I want to pick out my own foods because I want to watch sugar, fat etc read labels and #2 I want to get the exercise of walking the store. I ended up walking the store a good hour and 15 minutes today.

Carol Sue My beautician told me that her exercise trainers have told her that those of us who are active like we are are less likely to fall. They say people who don't move around and sit all the time are the people who usually have a tendency to lose their balance and fall. I like hearing that. My going up the stairs at the beauty shop is getting so much better. I no longer have to take a step and move my foot up and take another step. It was so easy this morning to take the steps normally.

Fatmad I hope all is going well for you.

Have a good day everybody.

Trish, I thank God that we had the sense to change our casino night! There was devastating damage all over western PA but not in our area.

We went to Rodneys and had fish. It was so good. I brought some home. It was hard for me but I ate it without the bun. DH always eats his without the bun. It comes with Cole slaw and fries but I brought the fries home for DH.

You are doing so well Trish and I think you will see the 170s very soon!

Carol Sue Congratulations on not eating the bun and bringing the fries home for your Hubby. I agree we are doing goo.

I have managed to eat less than 1000 calories within 6 hrs. I added a medium banana to get over 1000 calories but I won't be eating it. So I will be just under the 1000 if I can trust MFP counts. I counted it as close to what was on packages. I got my 5 calorie Cran-grape and I diluted it in water like BS says she does and it was nice having something different to drink. I'm drinking green tea now. I usually drink coffee at this time but not sure I have room for it. LOL

well done everyone. This morning after 2mAD yesterday I was 160.4. I have fasted today, so I feel confident I will break 160 tomorrow am.
I may undo that to some extent as I am going to eat 2 days in a row. I will work to stick to low carb though. Lots to do to make this happen and keep it down.
Perhaps down to 150 by the Christmas holidays.

Did it, today I am 159.4 finally. I know I will be up on Monday after eating for two days, but just feel better knowing I can get here into the 150's.
Have a good weekend friends.

You are doing very well, Mad, both you and Trish. Me, I'm starting over. I was 191 yesterday but down a lb to 190 today. It upsets me to think where I would be if I had stayed on plan but I don't think that way in the moment. Its as though I am completely out of control. I just keep snacking all day and night. Some is healthy food, some is not. I was down to 185. Up 6 lbs. That's not a fluctuation. I can't even say it was enjoyable. I could justify it if it was a great meal.

Trish, I buy the 5 calorie Cranberry juice. Why do you dilute it? For fewer calories? Its very refreshing. I might try it with sparkling water. I bought sparkling water to make sugar free jello. Now I can't find my bowl I use for jello. I think DH stuck it somewhere but he denies it. I could use another bowl but why do I have to? If I clean out all my cupboards maybe I'll find it.

DH had a relapse and cooked breakfast for me today. I thanked him and said I will eat it later. Its a sunny side up egg. It will be congealed later. Ewwww! I guess I have to waste food. If I eat it to avoid wasting it he will win.

Yesterday I bought 2 thick pork chops to stuff. I haven't made them in 40+ years and don't know if I remember how. He says he will eat them. We used to get good ones at a restaurant but they closed when the pandemic started and never reopened. I also bought kielbasa I for the kielbassi tomato mushroom noodle dish. I should just cook what I want and he can eat or fend for himself. I only know how to make certain things. I don't cook things I don't like.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Fatmad Great being under 160. I knew you would do it. Even with a gain from the 2 day you know you can do it again. You have always done so well with IF.

Carol Sue Sorry you are struggling, but I am confident you will get things turned around again. You have done it before so you know you can. DBS dilutes the cranberry juice and it just sounded good to me and it is less calories that way. Not sure why she does.

Well, I am up .2 lb this week but at least I am still in the 183 range. Last Saturday I was 183.6 and it is 183.8 this morning. I don't usually exercise on Saturdays but decided to do it today and then skip tomorrow and work toward 5 days of exercise this week instead of just 4 days.

Fried tilapia today. Not my favorite fish but DH likes it. I've decided to cook mine and cut it up in my salad. In fact, I decided that I could do that with a lot of my meals in the future as I like big salads and I could have it all in one bowl. Not all of them but some. I used to do that yrs ago when I ate a lot of Wendy's salads.

Hope everybody has a nice Saturday.

Ttish, I like the idea of a big salad with whatever protein in it. Very refreshing and healthy. I love talapia. I have some in the freezer. DH won't eat it. Sometimes I cook it for myself when I'm making somethings else for DH. I don't mind making 2 different things when it just means grilling different protein and having the same sides.

DH liked the stuffed pork chops but for me they were too dry. I needed to cook them differently. I don't think I will make them again. I might make pork chops cooked in gravy with stuffing on the side but baking dried them out too much.

Today was my eating day because it is WI day. But calories were still under 1400 with about 8 hrs eating window. So it is a good day.

Carol Sue I almost always cook gravy with pork chops unless we are eating SF bbq sauce or DH is eating steak sauce on it. I've never cooked them stuffed and I'm sure DH wouldn't eat it.
