I have decided that the magnesium is giving me more energy, or else its coincidence. I am taking half dose.

Pies are done. I will do as much,as I can to get ready for tomorrow. I will pack up all the things I am taking to Step daughters. Tomorrow morning I will make my stuffing before I leave then stuff my turkey when we get home.

As,far as I know there is no place to read at the other casino. I could maybe go out into the mall if they have benches. There is a restaurant but no food court. The restaurant is very expensive. $20 for a burger and fries. There is a food court in the mall but its not close to the casino.

We make French toast the same as you but DH fries it in butter. I love French toast but rarely eat it. I usually have scrambled eggs instead.

I think your DH will get used to the stevia in his Cheerios.

Carol Sue I know you are glad to get the pies done. It is so nice of you to help your DD with her meal.I hope her first Thanksgiving meal in her new home will be very successful.

WOW! $20 for a burger and fries is expensive. I can't imagine any burger being worth that much. LOL

I have actually had a great eating day today. Calories were 1105 today and stayed within 7 hr eating window. I do so hope I can something within me to find a way continue and stay OP.

I'm glad to hear that the magnesium is giving you energy. I hope it continues to do that for you.

No scale again today. Maybe not til Monday. I don't expect to be overeating today. All I'm making is turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy and vegetable. We don't go in for all the other sides for just us. No rolls. We don't need them.

The trip to step daughters went well. I let her do everything and just watched her. You learn better by doing. She is nervous about the turkey being done but I told her to just let it cook watching it, and check the temperature. They are also cooking a small ham. I think her sister in law will help her pull it all together when its time.

I came home and had my turkey in the oven by 9. Now I'm watching the parade. DH went back to bed. I think we will be eating around 2 pm, between lunch and dinner.

Carol Sue We don't buy rolls for us either. I would have had cranberry sauce for me which DH doesn't like, I couldn't find this year. I could have bought the berries and tried making sugar free, but not worth it for just me. I got to thinking about what we usually have for Thanksgiving and Christmas when everybody comes around it is very carby. The turkey gets blamed for the groggy, sleepy feeling everybody as after dinner but we who watch carbs know the sugary carbs are the real problem.

I've got my ham in a bag in the crockpot. It is sliced and DH wanted me to cook it so it would hold together. Since it is boneless the only way I knew to do is hold each end in place with toothpicks and put it in a bag then add the crushed pineapple, cloves and enough sugar free maple syrup for taste. I couldn't find any cherries to use as they were sold out. My no sugar added fruit salad is made and in fridge. The only thing I have to add to it is the regular salad and cook the corn on the cob.

I am fasting until dinner which will be around 3 pm and I don't know if I will eat anything else or not. I have decided not to follow a plan per se for a while. I want to eat only if and when I'm hungry. Some how I want to lose the attitude that I have to eat. I thought about Daddy when he was in the hospital. He didn't want to eat because at that time he was a faster although IF wasn't popular then. It was just the way he ate. That may be where I got my attitude growing up. They told him if he would eat he could go home. So he would have my step-mom throw the food out so he could go home. We are made to think we have to eat a certain way period. I don't want any more rules. I can't even say I eat Intuitively but perhaps I am just eating normal when I eat only when hungry.

Weight was down .2 lbs. and FBG was 95. I just ate what I wanted yesterday but I didn't overeat. So I want to just take time to see what would happen if I do that everyday.

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody. Have a great day with family and friends or however you celebrate today.

Dinner is long over and everything cleaned up and put away. I had a few calls from step daughter with questions but haven't heard how her dinner went. I hope all went well.

I bought cranberry sauce but we forgot to eat it. I wonder if step daughter remembered to serve hers. We like the canned jellied cranberry sauce. I will have mine when we eat leftovers. I have a LOT of leftover turkey.

Trish, anytime DH is in the hospital he eats very little, also when he was laid up with shingles. When he was in rehab, his room mate would flush his meals down the toilet so they would think he ate. I think eat-when-you're -hungry is the best plan and I believe you will continue to lose weight.

DH wanted to go to the casino after dinner!! NO! I was too tired. I actually took a 2 1/2 hour nap in my chair. I'm really expecting him to want to go tomorrow so I won't get my week off like he promised. I am not surprised.

DHs older brother is still in rehab. He is very unhappy there and wants to go home. He is having black stools indicating he is bleeding internally. He said they are worried about that and are no longer treating him for his knees. I feel so bad. He is not allowed visitors because of the virus. He was instrumental in getting DH and I together when we met and means a lot to me. Very nice man. His wife passed away several years ago. Two children live in AZ. The son who lived in PA passed away in 2019.

I don't know if step son will stop here on his way home or not. When I told him to stop here if he wanted a pie he said he has 3 pies so I don't know if he will stop anyway. I know he is angry with us for not going to step daughters. He will get over it!

Our dinner was fine but the stovetop stuffing was not something I will ever buy again. It was awful. I actually think I got the wrong one, but I should have made it from scratch. The nice thing is that I only had 1129 calories today and ate within 5 hrs. So pretty good day.

Carol Sue Sorry you may have to go to the casino tomorrow, but I hope if you do it will be a good day. I hope your step daughters dinner went well and your step son will get over things. My son who calls me on most holidays was the only one I heard from today. We had a nice day quiet day and really enjoyed it.

I thought about going to the store after the beauty shop tomorrow but decided to wait until next week.

Goodnight.

Hi friends: 157 after fasting yesterday, so I am holding steady after having OMAD on Tuesday and eating Wednesday. I have not been eating low carb properly though. Likely will not do that today or tomorrow either. Tonight we are doing a birthday dinner for DD whose birthday is in December. She will be 35. She and her fella are going away for the weekend for her birthday however, so we are celebrating a bit early. Since she split up with her husband, she has celebrated her birthday alone and far from home, this is the first family gathering for her in at least 5 years. So I am happy to make a cake for that. Then tomorrow we go to a concert in Toronto and before the concert we are taking my sister out for supper to thank her for the tickets. If you have ever liked any songs by Gordon Lightfoot, he is still playing and we look forward to seeing him again. I have seen him live 4-5 times, but my sister sees a concert with him almost every year since her teens.

So from Sunday on I hope to be back to alternate day fasting and get the weight down a bit before Christmas. I just have the 2 days of meetings in December and so far no other social plans. They may come yet, be we will see based on how people are feeling. The children here are now getting vaxxed so holiday gathering should be safer. I am a bit tired, I am doing better on the higher dose of trazodone for sleep, but tend to wake up early, like 5 am. Thats not quite enough for me, and I hope to do better tonight. I had a short nap yesterday, and I feel like that threw me off a bit. But I will try to rest again today at some point.

Hope you both were happy with your Thanksgiving Day meals and activities, even if it was quiet for you Carol.
may the rest of the weekend be relaxing and enjoyable.

I am so happy today! Step daughter keep saying things like "This is so much work." "I don't know if I will ever do this again." She kept calling me, afraid that her turkey will not get done, etc. Finally she texted pictures. So much food! Everyone had so much fun, including her. She is so happy and probably very glad she did it. I wanted this to go well for her, and it did.

Step son did not stop but DIL had a lot of wine so she was probably too tired. He called DH later on and they talked about the football game. No problem.

Trish, sorry you did not like the Stove Top stuffing. It is too spicy for me but I eat it. I prefer home made. I hope your ham turned out good. I will never buy Butterball turkey again. I usually get Honeysuckle or even off brand. DH fed so much turkey to the dog he would not eat it anymore!! Just think of a dog who refuses turkey!

I have been very off plan. Although I don't follow a plan, I've been eating carbs and not fasting the way I prefer. Snacking at night. I am ready to get back to it. I also want to exercise regularly. I have been very stressed out about Thanksgiving and how people would react to our decision not to participate. I feel great relief now that its over and feel that I'm ready to move on with self improvement. Weight today is 189 so not as bad as it could be. It was 190 yesterday.

Step daughter really expressed her gratitude for my help and I think it has strengthened our relationship.

Mad, I have a question for you. Someone online said their A1c went from 120 to 43. I don't know what country they are from. Do you understand that?

DH is VERY ANGRY because I said no to the casino. This will not be a good day.

Carol Sue I don't think people know how stressful planning and cooking etc for big meals like that are until they do it. I was around families and a big family when I married DH#2 who always did them. But the nicee thing about when we lived in South TX and close to DH#2 DB & SIL, she and I took turns doing them. If I did Thanksgiving she did Christmas and vice versa. It wasn't so bad then. Of course back then we were younger and our kids were little and we celebrated everything. But it was nice to have to do it all the time. Then there were the times we came home to Central TX to see family and we would go to Mamaís and to his Grandparents and they did the cooking as did the cleanup. It was a job at his grands because everybody from all over TX came and us granddaughters designated to do the cleanup afterwards. But we had fun.

Iím glad to hear DSD dinner turned out so good and that she now understands all the work you put into it all these years.

My beautician called and she was running late today so I had time to go to the grocery store before I got my hair done. I didnít get everything I wanted but I have really been craving manderine oranges lately so bought a fresh bag of them. The brand I used to buy was $2 higher than the ones I bought. I hope these are just as good.

I was reading about PAD last night in a WEBmd article I got. I didnít know what it was and when I asked DH, I learned that is what happened to his 1st wife when she started losing toes and had heart problems and would have lost her legs if she had lived longer. One of the things the article said to prevent it is exercise routinely, eat low fat and eat lots of fruits, veggies and control weight and blood sugar as well as cholesterol. Diet sounded a lot like WWSF to me. So I picked up a few things to get back to WW plan probably the Simply Filling plan and eat mindfully within 5 to 8 eating hours. I still want to get some of the fasting in. I am thinking about counting pts again but do it in a notebook rather than tracking on MFP or joining WW. However, it is difficult either way because there are some things I make that is hard to figure out calories or pts whichever I do. So just may do WWSF and not worry too much about the pts. So will see. I'll do the best I can with it between now and the 1st of 2022 and then decided. One thing is for sure, if I decide to do WW online, they will have some great specials to join up then. But I don't think I will need them.

Fatmad I think it is great that you are staying in the 150s with all the parties and celebrations you are doing lately. Your body is adjusting to where you are so that when things settle and you get time to get back to actually losing weight your body will even be ready. It is one of the great benefits of IF. Congratulations as you are doing great.

I think weight may have stayed the same this morning but not sure since I donít count what I weigh on Friday because I weigh 2 hrs earlier and I always weigh less at my regular WI time later. I got to thinking about me being back in the 180s and seemings stuck here, but then realized where I was a year ago or even 2 or 3 mos ago and I am happy where I am. I hope I can lose and back in 170s before the end of the year, but will be content if I can just stay in the 180s. I personally think all 3 of us are doing pretty good for what time of the year we are in with the holidays etc.

I threw out the Stove Top stuffing deciding it wasnít worth wasting 150 calories on something I didnít like and probably never would. I should have gotten the cornbread one but lesson learned. DH wants the leftover ham so we will have that with a salad and probably instead of corn I will fix broccoli. I will buy this again as long as I can get it because I can start making myself a WW 4 egg, cheese and ham Mcmuffin breakfast sometime using WW friendly cheese and muffin. In fact, I think the MG muffin could be considered 0pts but I will count it 2 and use the 1 pt velveeta sl cheese and 1 pt or less of the ham. So it could be less pts. Even counting the calories it would be only 275 so that isnít bad for a breakfast.

Carol Sue I hope your hubby doesnít stay angry with you too long. Iím surprised he isnít watching football all weekend. He mus be like mine, he only likes to watch his team whereas DH#2 would watch anybody playing football. And it went all weekend on Thanksgiving weekend.

Have a great day everybody. It is freezing cold here for us this time of year and I am staying wrapped up to stay warm as best as I can. Yíall up north would probably think this is warm. LOL

Trish, DH and I are talking as if nothing happened but its always like that. We will go through this again tomorrow and Sunday. I hate the casino. He watches the football games but the only one he really cares about is the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt University and Penn State for college games.

Step daughter got a text from her cousin that DHs brother is in ICU. I am so sad. DH cannot call him now to talk to him. It sounds like he has internal bleeding. We don't really know. We don't have anyone we can call.

Trish, I worry about PAD also because of the way my legs hurt sometimes. I think I received the same article as you did.

We ate leftover turkey today with mushroom soup instead of gravy. That is how I really like it. I should never even buy gravy.

I think you will get your eating turned around and I hope I do too!

Carol Sue I am so sorry about your DBIL. I hope they can find where the bleeding is coming from and can fix it. I just hope he doesn't give up. Some times they do. That is the main thing I don't like about DH taking a blood thinner. Is your BIL on one? I will be praying for him.

The part about the article that bothered me was that you could have it and not know it and it is difficult for doctors to diagnose it. I always like having a purpose other than weight to my woe. So I've decided that I want to prevent it or at least slow it down as much as possible so I told DH that I am going to follow their suggestions of exercise and diet etc.

I actually had less than 8 hr eating window probably about 7 & 1/2 hrs but not exactly sure about it since I actually had a banana and a cup of collagen coffee around 12:15. Then I actually had 2 meals one at 3ish and the other around 7:30. My total calories for today were 1040. I had to stretch to get there but I made it.

Trish, I think my BIL is taking Eloquis, if I spelled it right. He is a heavy beer drinker but I don't know if he still drinks and chews tobacco. He is 80 or 81 and DH is 78, 79 next month. So they grew up close over the years. He has 3 more brothers. The one he talks to every day is 73. The next one is 69, in NV and the youngest is 65, married to SIL. I do hope they are able to help BIL but I don't think he will ever go home. He lives with his granddaughter but only if he can get around and take care of himself. I know this is bothering DH that he can't talk to him. He has a daughter and son in AZ. I feel bad that he is alone and can't have family around him. Thank you for the prayers.

I read that the best treatment for PAD is Plavix and I take that. I asked the doctor to take me off it but he said No. Now I am glad he kept me on it. I want to start walking on my treadmill again and ride my bike. Not fast, just to keep moving.

Wt is down .6 today, recycled pounds. I don't know if I will ever succeed in getting out of the 180s but I'm glad not to be gaining.

I have to go to Walmart. I hate the thought but I need some things that I don't think will wait until Monday.

I don't know what this Magnesium is doing for me but I'm not sleeping good. Maybe I should not take it at bedtime. I'm taking half dose and I'm afraid to increase it.

I got up around 9 but the day seemed to get away from me for some reason. Don't know if I was in slow motion or what. Weight back down to 181.4 for today but higher than it was on MFP the last time I tracked it. Only a couple of lbs which won't look bad for the Thanksgiving weekend but still don't know if I want to change it, but knowing me I will just to keep me accountable if othing else. FBG was 96 so that is good. I would love to keep it in the 90s so I guess if the way I'm eating winow ll keep it there, I will continue to eat this way and hope the weight will finally come off.

Again today I ate a banana and drank my collagen cofee after noon and called it breakfast on MFP. So I guess I am actually doing an 7 or 8 hr eating window but that is fine. I need the potassium besides the potassium I take. I've decided that is the bad thing about doing low low carb for me is that I'm not eating potassium.

Since this is WI day we will have home made pizza. I've got it down to where my sodium doesn't go up so bad. Most of my calories will be at 3ish and then about 6:30 or 7 I will have my evening meal which will be oatmeal with fresh blueberries, red raspberries and yogurt. I read years ago that berries are good for preventing plaque build up in arteries and that is what got me started eating them in SC. Maybe that is why I didn't have a lot of problems with my legs back then. Hopefully eating them along with the Lasix will keep me from ever having it. BTW the strange thing is that the low dose of Lasinopril and Lasix has caused my BP to average out at 115/57 which is still kind of low but is nice to have it not going way low any more.

Carol Sue Plavix is an old medication. The lady I took care of before I met and married DH, took it. She was a heart patient so I guess that is why they had her on it but I haven't heard of any one taking it any more. I hope your BIL is doing better. It doesn't help when know one can see him or talk to him. Nothing to help them fight to live. Prayers continue for him.

Hope your trip to Walmart wasn't bad.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Trish, I have taken Plavix off and on for years and now it came out in generic which is $0 copay for me. All my meds are old and therefore inexpensive generics. Most patients now take Brilinta after getting a stent. I had to take it for a year. I wanted off it but they made me take it for a year then let me switch to Plavix again. There was something about the Brilinta but I don't remember what it was. It was very expensive.

I didn't go to Walmart. I was afraid it would be too crowded so we will try tomorrow morning.

If anyone is able to see BIL it would be his granddaughter. She might have POA. When he was in rehab for his knees she signed a paper that he cannot come home until he can walk. They are no longer worried about his knees now that there is a bleeding problem.
