HI all. 161 this am after my careful eating day yesterday, which is a little discouraging. I slept ok. I am mostly sleeping ok, and when I do have trouble getting to sleep, Gravol seems to work ok. So mostly I am sleeping ok, one way or another. At least more than before retirement, for sure.
So lack of exercise is part of the issue I would suppose. I will see what I can do, and get back to walking more again. I sure do miss it. I will start with once a day.
Will also call a physiotherapist today. I am sure tired of sitting around, and just doing arm exercises.

Have a good day friends, move and eat well!

Carol Sue I don't like just any fish either and really have never found a coating that I like. I wondered about this coating being from Louisiana because Cajun foods are always spicy. I don't always notice it but I know DH can't eat it. Gordon does have some fish breaded and non-breaded that we both like and we would get our fish in that way. However, we do like fish at LJS and Cracker Barrel so there are other options. We have already decided that steaks will be eaten at the steakhouse.

Another thing I have learned about the coatings is that they obviously have a lot of sodium because my weight is up to 192 this morning. However, I've been taking Equate's equivalent of NyQuil for my sinuses at night so I can knock the allergies out and sleep for the past 3 nights. While it could have contributed to the weight gain, it did get rid of the allergy problems. I woke up early and got up an hour earlier and feel really good today. I won't need the meds tonight so things should get back to normal.

Fatmad I think you are adjusting to retirement and then your injury that has stopped you from your exercise so when you get all that back where it should be, your weight will start coming back down.

Well, WW got a new app and I had to uninstall the old and install the new on my phone and it switched me to Blue plan according to my original answers in my profile. They are obviously having problems with the new app since I've seen everybody complain about it. Therefore, I never could get it to go back to Purple plan so I decided maybe the Good Lord is telling me I need to go to Blue. It did keep my Friday WI day so I am still on that. It just means I have 200 free foods instead of 300 which just means I have to count most grains, pastas and potatoes. I get 23 pts daily instead of 16 so it is doable. I'll see how it goes. One thing it does do is it takes away some of the guessing on some of the 0 pts that were 0 pts on purple because they are automatically counted on blue. I am going to work at doing this all in a 8 or 9 hr IF window.

Have a nice day everone.

Well, DH decided he wanted to go to the casino. I won $500 but told DH it was $400 and put the other $100 away. Sometimes he wants to gamble with my winnings. I like to bring them home.

I ate too much again today. I guess I'll get straightened out someday. I was reading about what happens to our fat and muscle when we sleep and the importance of deep sleep especially. That's what I have the biggest problem with. Some nights I don't get any deep sleep at all. Exercise is one way to increase deep sleep. And naps are bad.

I hope you get the WW app straightened out, Trish.

Carol Sue I wondered if y'all went to the casino. Good job winning the $500.

I actually enjoyed the blue plan today. DH wanted cream of chicken soup for lunch so I took a can of chicken noodle soup and added frozen veggies to it and had it. I ended up with 4 pts to roll over. I didn't eat until noon and then I only wanted a slice of cheese toast. I had the pts so it wasn't a problem. Some of the 0 pts foods I ate on purple now have pts. Such as popcorn was 0 pts on purple, but it will cost me 2 pts now when I want it. I'm not sure that is a bad idea to have to count pts for some of those foods. In fact, I'm thinking it is a good idea.

Trish, I don't really get a vote because I'm not on WW but I think its better to count the points and know how much you ate rather than eating foods that "don't count." Better for weight loss. But I also think counting points is time consuming. I believe many people eat the same foods over and over because they have memorized the point values.

After posting yesterday I tracked my food and realized that I did not overeat as far as calories are concerned. I ate in the evening which was out of my normal eating window and I was not actually hungry at the time. So I felt too full and that gave the impression that I had over eaten. If I had not eaten in the evening when not hungry I would have been too low in calories for MFP. As a result my weight is DOWN to 191.4. I did not weigh yesterday, but this is down .2 from Tuesday.

DH likes Campbell's Chicken Noodle. The last time I bought it I grabbed Home style by mistake and he loves it so I have to get that one now. Wal-Mart was out of it this time. I guess everyone likes it. It is probably higher points than regular.

BBL

11 am.

I ended up eating breakfast, eggs and toast, at 11 am. I still feel hungry and want more but that's how I always am. I don't feel satisfied with a normal size meal. I always want to feel stuffed, but it doesn't feel good afterwards. I wonder if that would ever go away if I fight it constantly.

I am reading the book I ordered that finally came. It was mentioned by someone on the forum. It is written by a woman who was obese and lost 200+ lbs. Half-Assed. The first section I could not relate to as it was about her obesity as a child and as a young adult. I gained my weight as an adult. But now I'm reading about when something finally clicked and she started losing weight. She didn't say what plan she used because she feels this can be done on any plan and you just have to find what works for you, as we always say. Sticking to it is the key. For exercise she walked on a treadmill, took the stairs at work, parked farther away in parking lots. Its interesting, and easy to see that its written by someone who really lived it. She goes off plan sometimes, doesn't exercise sometimes. And she has a web site.

Carol Sue Today we weigh the same. LOL I am up a bit but I decided since I'm back on blue to just go ahead and make Thursday my WW WI day. I say WW because I weigh everyday and don't seem to be breaking that habit any time soon. I show a gain but everyone is having gains after the holidays so not a big thing. I want to be able to weigh on Thursday so I can weigh at the same time every week for my WW WI day.

I've decided that since fruit, most veggies (especially the ones I really like) are 0 pts along with white meat of chicken and turkey are 0 pt that I am going to use those to do more of a low carbish (not actually Atkins or keto). I won't eat the starchy carbs very often. I'm not sure I will ever eat all of the 23 pts I now eat daily except when going out to eat. FBG is back down under 120 again... 106 today and was 99 yesterday. The meat that I do eat seems to be 1 pt an oz so that is easy to do. I do love my pork chops and we are going to Texas Roadhouse for steak Friday. Either DH and I will half a steak there or I'll bring half of mine home.

I am going to try to get used to eating some turkey meat again. They push turkey bacon, but it is 1 pt a slice but I can find a cut of regular that is 1 pt a slice or just go ahead and buy what I get at Sam's and it is 3 pts for 2 slice. Since I have the pts I don't use, I can just spend the 3. I just don't like turkey bacon and don't know if I could learn to like it or not. I have learned to tolerate Almond milk. Today we are having chicken breast cooked in French onion soup. It is a recipe I saw on WW.

I've done half my exercise for today and I want to do 20 min on the stationary bike. So I better get busy. I didn't want to exercise when I got up this morning but I decided that I've never been a quitter and I won't start today. I am ready to fight for a better weight loss and health this year. We can do this friends.

Have a good day everyone.

Trish, we don't like turkey bacon either. Turkey sausage was ok but we don't buy it. I haven't been buying any bacon or sausage and won't unless DH wants it. He was upset when it raised his blood pressure last time, and I don't need the extra calories. I will eat it if we go out for breakfast, though.

The IRS is still saying they have not received out income tax return, so not only did we not get our refund, but we also won't get the stimulus check. Bummer. I didn't tell DH yet. He will be very angry. I stopped having tax deducted from DH's pension check or from my IRA because they won't give it back. LOL I am trying to be patient, letting the IRS get caught up, and if I don't get anything by spring I will make an appointment at an IRS office. That is what they recommend.

Carol Sue I forget about the turkey sausage. I buy the Jimmy Dean crumbles low fat for our pizzas. I could use it in my omelets.

Do you remember Carol who was on the IE thread on 3fc? I have been thinking about her and found her on my friends list on FB this morning. So I went to her FB page and her DH had written about how they met etc. Come to find out she had a stroke in 2019 and died a year ago. I wrote him and told she had been such a good Christian friend here on 3fc. Anyway I thought you might want to know about her.

I've got my food plan for today and I have 10 pts that I probably won't be using. Interesting isn't it. I know I'm not going to cook anything a night for me to eat so I plan to have a Premier shake with blueberries. I won't be able to rollover anything but 4 pts to tomorrow but I will have 32 weeklies when we go to TX Roadhouse tomorrow. Of course I won't come close to using them.

Hi friends 158 this am after yesterday's fast. This was not as low as Tuesday, but I was not dehydrated and had no BM before weighing as I woke up about 430. I weighed at 530 so a couple of hours early. I stopped my magnesium supplements thinking they were causing diarrhea, especially when I fasted, and looks like that is true. So the 158 is ok if it is a more "true" weight. I am doing ok sticking for eating plan again today. Only thing is I am eating leftovers from Tuesday since I made lots of food, and if I don't eat it today, it may feel too "old" to eat on Saturday!.
I am having trouble with amounts to cook. I used to like having leftovers so I had something healthy to eat on hand, but I would prefer to cook if I am only eating every 2nd day. But its learning again, with DD gone again. Used to cooking for 3 and having someone to eat the leftovers.

Trish, I hope you do well on the blue plan, switching up between that and purple and simply filling seems to be working to some degree. Overall you have been losing with plateaux in-between. Still you have done well the last year or so.

Carol: glad you won big at the casino, do have some plans for something fun with your winnings?

Have a good day friends.

Mad, no plans for the winnings. It just goes in with our spending money. Just better than losing.

Glad your losing weight again. I would rather have freshly cooked food if possible even though I do eat leftovers.

Trish, I think the shakes helped you in the past.

Fatmad Glad your weight is moving again. I had to stop buying magnesium at Walmart and order one from Amazon now that doesn't cause me to have diarrhea. It took a while for me to learn to cook for just two but I finally got used to it. I'm sure you will too.

Carol Sue The shakes do help. I had one tonight with blueberries in it and a cup of coffee and I was amazed at how full I felt after drinking it. I didn't get hungry for anything after I drank it. I sure hope it continues to satisfy me like it did tonight. I had 10 pts I didn't use, but I had enough I actually ate enough food. I had a 2 egg and bacon omelet for breakfast and the French onion chicken with salad and corn with my Fiber One brownie and a glass of almond milk for lunch. So the shake was a nice finish of the day. So you can see that it was plenty of food for 13 pts for the day.

Headed to bed early since I have to get up early to go to the beauty shop earlier than usual. Goodnight.

My weight is up again but I'm not surprised. Ill do better today. DH has sweet rolls from the bakery and he would much rather have them for breakfast so he won't be cooking. He has stopped cooking breakfast for me without asking. Yay! Hope he continues. He still offers me some of everything he eats but I resist most of the time. I will probably eat something around 11, either eggs or lunch of vegetables.

I read somewhere that certain types of magnesium cause diarrhea because it is not absorbed properly. Many low carbers take it for the constipation caused by a lack of vegetables and fiber. There are other types that don't cause diarrhea and are good for sleep. That is one of the supplements I bought but no longer take. I don't really like to take a supplement if I don't know that my levels are low. If I don't see an improvement I stop taking it.

I got a lot of sleep and Fitbit gave a good score but not enough deep sleep. I don't know if I will ever improve my sleep.

I went to bed early and didn't sleep good at all. In fact, I don't think I slept much at all so I got up at 6 am which is very early for me even on Friday, but I have to leave in 30 minutes since I switched to the 9 am appointment which is normal DS. I'm getting a perm in the hair I tried wearing straight. I didn't like it because my hair won't lay down right. That way she will get finished with us at our regular time. DS will come in at 9:15 so she can get her hair done during my 20 minute processing.

My weight was down to 188.6 this morning. Not sure that is accurate since I was up so early. I ate breakfast because I was feeling shaky which I'm sure from no real sleep. I plan to go to the s tore before I come back home.

I have my plans for my food today tracked on WW and even after going to Texas Roadhouse and I will still have at least 2 pts to rollover to tomorrow. I'm excited that I won't be needing any weeklies today and we are going out for steak and I am planning to eat a roll. Yay!!

Carol Sue I bet that bump is temporary probably water weight.

Have a nice day everyone.

Trish, the scale doesn't lie, but fluid makes a difference. Low carb makes you lose fluid faster so I think the protein shake helped. I hope my bump up was fluid.

ok, today is a bit better, 160 after my eating day yesterday. And that means that today is fasting. I have made plans for eating tomorrow that include using what is in the fridge, so no need to shop for now. Sometime next week we will have to get some fresh veggies and fruit, but we are clearing out the freezers and and fridge and will be shopping carefully in the future, at least for this month while I fast and shed weight.
It is quite cold today, and after some issues yesterday, although my pain level is pretty good, I was afraid to walk outside at this point. I have a play date for the dog this afternoon, and will see about that and getting some other exercise. I can do indoor yoga with care taking I think.
have a good day friends.
