We spent the day in a car dealership. We stopped in to see the 2020 cars they had reduced since the 2021 new ones came in. It is close to impossible to go into a car dealership without buying a new car. LOL. We traded ours in because they made us an offer we couldn't refuse.

Fatmad Glad to hear from you. I hope y'all don't have the covid. I'm not sure I ever had it, but I have pretty good immune system. I found out that cedar pollen is high right now and I am highly allergic to cedar so I may have just had allergies to that. Any way, I am feeling pretty good now so all is well.

DS asked her doctor about the new medicine they just released to get rid of it and he said you have to go into the hospital for the treatment so she said forget it. Other than being tired, she is doing better... just tired. DBIL is on antibiotics for his strep throat waiting for his test results.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Carol Sue Congratulations on the new car.

I've had a fairly good day although I did go over my daily pts. I found a pdf online of the list of Simply Fillings foods and I am going to compare it to the Purple plan because it has a lot of the foods on it including some of the foods that are counted on purple which I wouldn't have to count pts... such as fat-free milk. Looking at the list, I already eat a lot of those 0 pts foods and I think it would not only work for me but it would be healthy too. I'll will just have to see how having no daily pts to count works for me. I also think the 49 weekly pts would be sufficient because a lot of them I do eat now and have to count pts. The question is, will being able to eat those foods without having to count pts, help me or be my enemy. Experimenting with it will be the only way for me to find out.

Goodnight!!

Trish, some people I've heard can be tired for a long time after covid. One woman on another forum had a pretty bad case but not bad enough to be hospitalized. Her doctor told her the fatigue might stick around for up to 6 months. I hope your sister doesn't have any lasting effects.

Wt is up .6 but still 190.

Trish, if you continue to watch portions and eat lots of vegetables you should be fine but if you need WW online, so be it. You do what you have to do.

Have managed to stay under 160 (just barely) even after eating on Friday and Saturday, so today is a fasting day.
My test went fine, hoping to hear the results of DH's test today. It is starting to snow and we are expecting a good dump by days end. I will take Buddy out for his walk soon in case it gets bad later. Not a lot of wind so no blizzard conditions, but it could turn on a dime. The weather services say it will be a "la Nina" winter, which usually means lots of snow. That would be good, I could get out skiing. Sales of skis and snowshoes has been brisk in our area, we gave DD a set of snow shoes for her birthday coming up in December. She is planning to go up to Algonquin for a snow shoe holiday if the weather co-operates, that is, dumps enough snow up there.
The year we did a winter holiday there the cross country skiing was fabulous. I would do that again in a minute. DH has a set of cross-country skis but prefers downhill. We have not heard much about how they will manage safety at the ski resorts, so he is not so optimistic about his activities.

From August when I was on holidays and last cleared my email inboxes, I built up 800 emails in my work mailbox and 300 in my personal one.
Over the last weeks I have got the work one down to under 175 and the personal down to 150. The personal is taking more time because I did not count the social and promotional mailboxes there, are those are now almost cleared. I have unsubscribed to all kinds of things too to avoid building up so many. What a tedious little job that is. The house is looking more organized and almost tidy. Less clutter too since DD moved into the studio apartment. Stuff we had moved out of her "office" room is back there now, so we have a bit more living space. I have my home back, not just from her, but from the clutter I could not deal with. The last months of working we hard, taking all my energy, I had none left for home.
I am hoping that "slimming" down my home will translate into slimming down my body.
My dosage last night did the trick and I slept well again. I think that means only one night of insomnia in the last week. It is subtle but I definitely have more energy and willingness to get stuff done here.

Trish; I hope you continue to be well. Your sister's tiredness seems like a common reaction, I have read that some people have it for quite a while, so I hope she does not have to live with those effects for a long time, but you never know.
Carol: what kind of new car? We have been planning to get a Prius Prime. It may be our last car. I have the cash put away for it. I was just kind of hoping for some provincial tax rebate money to come back in a pre-election announcement from our government. The federal tax rebates are still in place for hybrid and electric cars.

Mad, we got the same vehicle we traded in. It was a 2016 Chevrolet Trax which is a small SUV. It was in very good condition but we had bought it used in 2018. The woman who had owned it traveled far for work and had put a lot of highway miles on it so we got it for a very good price. They had the Car Fax that showed she took it in regulatly for oil changes and other maintenance. We never put a penny into it the whole time we had it. But now it has 68k miles on it and things could start to go wrong. DHs car has very few miles on it and he would never get rid of it. I thought it was time for me to spend some of my retirement money so now I will be starting over fresh with new for whatever time I have left and still driving.

I looked up the Prius Prime. Its a nice looking car with a lot of good features. The one thing I wanted was lane change assist but it was only available in the top models which were a lot more money. DH has that in his car but he does a lot more highway driving where it comes in handy.

I hope you and DH are fine.

Smile Ticker changing day!

Please to be able to confirm a 1 lb loss and will update my ticker (sidebar) to -28. This one took a little bit to confirm. I have a house guest so I didn't check anything else (FBS/BP). I'm also not exercising until my house guest heads home tomorrow. It feels like a lame excuse but there extenuating circumstances in this case.

My state has recently increased its COVID restrictions though. So ice skating is out for probably quite a while. I am going to look into hiring a coach though. It may allow me to still skate. My rec center restructured their appointment system and cleared out all of the appointments I had set up. I set up new ones as quickly as I could. I'll have to watch carefully to see if they make more changes. Alternatively, I could have them send the notices to the email I check routinely. Currently, the notices go to an older email I only check once in a while. Long story short- these new restrictions are going to make it really hard to lose weight. ~Sigh~ Staying healthy in one way only to be sicker in another way.

Feels like the holidays are in full swing. We watched a Christmas movie this week and built a gingerbread house!

I found all the info I needed online concerning the old Simply Filling WW plan. I found out that it is the old Core Plan and I like the fact that they SF foods are called Power Foods. I like thinking of my food choices as Power Foods. Because Core and Flex were the 2 plans at that time, I think I will be able to use the slider card I bought last spring from Amazon to count weekly pts when I need to since SF/Core seems to be a higher fiber/low fat diet which I do best on. One thing I do like about it is that I can have up to 2 T of oil a day. I listened to Dr. Grundy yesterday in an ad about the importance of knowing that your EVOO is raised and bottled in Morocco for a better quality so that it will help get rid of fat. I have to go back and read about it again, but I think he said you only need 1/2 tsp a day which would be easy to use. He said it doesn't have to be expensive if it is farmed in Morocco. I ordered a bottle from Amazon and it will be here Tuesday. On the new WW, the pts don't allow enough pts for me to use any fat at all but on Simply Filling plan that 1/2 tsp would be O pts. I also have the books that gives the Flex pts for foods that have to be used as weekly pts. In fact, I can go ahead and use it now since I'm already eating this way. I will cancel my membership once I've fulfilled my 6 months.

Weight was 190.8 today. I am not going to have a WI day per se right now. I will just keep track of my weight as I always have. I know on this plan that it is possible to lose up to 2 lbs a week which we all know that hasn't been the way things usually work for me. So any weight loss will be nice. The nice thing about this is that Simply Filling/Core plan is actually the same as IE eating mostly healthier GL Power Foods. So it is an excellent plan. Being an IE woe, I can eat only when I'm hungry. I haven't had anything to eat this morning. Just had 2 cups of coffee with Stevia and FF/SF creamer which is 0 pts on SF. The only thing I have to use pts for today is my bacon and 1% milk. I will go back skim milk this next week. This week will be moving into the plan and I will get into full swing of it by December 1st.

Carol Sue The car sounds really nice. DS has the lane change assist on her car and hers has been acting up. They treated her like she was an old woman who was doing it until she had her daughter drive it and took a video of how it was working and they finally took it seriously. She keeps telling me if DH and I want to make a trip to FL, we can use it but I think that would drive DH nuts. It is probably good as we get older especially.

I don't think I will need the online WW is needed for me. I spend too much time trying to follow rules and I like things simple. My goal is to not have to worry about having to check in to WW to track etc.

Fatmad I read that keeping the space around you clutter free does help us with our eating. I have to work at keeping things cleared out which keeps me moving and I sure hope what they say is true.

Y'all have a blessed Sunday.

Trish, I think you can turn the lane change assist off. I think it would help me because I have a hard time seeing if someone is in my blind corner.
DH had the feature that indicated he went into the other lane and he turned that off.

Trish what is the difference between zero points food list on Simply Filling and purple?

Pipsicle I hope you will be able to work out scheduling for your ice skating since you love it so much. Congratulations on the 1 lb loss confirmed.

Carol Sue There really I noticed that the FF dairies are 0 pts. Of course, I think that is mostly because you aren't going to over eat on some of those foods. You don't have any daily pts to use. On purple 0% fat skimmed milk is 3 pts, but 0 pts on Simply Filling. Grains don't have to be counted on SF and I am never sure if it has to be 100% whole wheat or just whole grain on purple. On SF I can have a serving. I've seen others on FB groups doing purple who get confused with it too. I just don't see enough difference to worry about the pts if you are eating only enough to satisfy hunger. Example yesterday most of the pizza I ate would have been almost 0 pts on SF instead of the 7 pts I counted on purple. However, I didn't eat but about 2/3 of it if that much because it was so filling with it being made with mostly SF Power foods so I ended up throwing away 1/3 of it. On SF, I can cut it down to even half the size I made and I do believe it will be sufficient. I notice that I have gotten into the habit of not wanting but a bite or 2 even of some of the foods considered as junk. This tells me that I am ready to eat Intuitively rather than following an actual plan. So I believe it is time to take advantage of that. Another example is that on SF, my taquito would be 1 pt for the bacon and 0 pts when I use Canadian bacon or a slice of ham. On SF, my SLMG bread is 0 pts instead of 1 pt.

I went on WW site and I am paid up until December 20th so I cancelled that payment. Of course, I can always go back if I need to but I don't think I will. I still haven't had anything but 2 c coffee and water. I will end up with a 16 hr fast since I ate last night. I think it will be easier to do IE/IF with SF plan.

I had a wonderful IE/IF day. It's been a long time since I've had eaten within a 5 hr window. I really enjoyed it. I was surprised how well I did with no starvation or cravings. I even practiced the rule I read somewhere in which I left a few bites on my plate instead eating everything on my plate. Day 1 is done.

Hi friends: my test came back negative. DH's test was not posted yet as of bedtime last night, although he tested at the same place 24 hrs before me. I think they are now putting health care providers at the front of the line for tests getting done. They were not doing that before, but now? It needed to be in place from the beginning.....

I fasted yesterday, and doing ok this morning. I am looking up stuff and have decided I need to plan my meals better. If I am fasting the way I want to, (eating 2MAD every other day, and a 42 hr fast in between) I need to plan those meals so I don't fall off plan, and stay low carb. As you know, I am not a great planner.
Today is a good day to plan, since I am on an eating day, so I can plan the next week and shop for food appropriately.
I also have to get off the sweets. Including fruit at least for the time being. Its all a little hard to accept, but I am seeing the weight control as a health issue, and I must find a way to manage this weight. Hearing from the liver doctor that I need to keep going and lose more was a good thing and I will follow that advice.

Its a winter wonderland outside today, and I do not have a busy day on paper. So I will walk the dog and get ready for tomorrows work and make my eating plans for the week from keto sites.
Have a good day everyone

Good morning. I'm back to fasting and probably 2MAD. At least staying within 5 hr eating window most days if not everyday. I am not making a hard fast rule for that because I think that would set me off to fail. I am really doing this intuitively more than IF. I'm not sure I'm going to worry about counting pts at all. I think just doing 90% SFPF (Simply Filling Power Foods) is the goal now. However, I do check the pts on some of the foods using what I call the Fiber Slider card. I decided to check the pts in my 1% milk and learned that it is only 2 pts. Since I'm doing so much fat free foods, I don't think the little bit of fat in the milk is a big deal so I think the 1% milk is worth the 2 pts.

Weight back down to 189.6 today down 1.2 lbs from yesterday. I'm not even tracking right now as I really don't think it is necessary. My 2MAD is more like 1 meal and a snack so not eating a whole lot of food but eating healthy.

Fatmad You have always done well with the fasting even some of the EF which I just have never been able to do. I'm sure you will work it out. I also have found that knowing this is more for my healthy makes it easier. Not easy but easier.

Carol Sue I guess you are busy cooking. Is your DH wanting to go to casino before T-day or Friday?

Have a great day everybody.

I didn't realise I didn't post this am. DH rushed me out the door for breakfast and to the bank. Wt is up to 191.0. I got a lot of sleep last night and feel pretty good.

It was a busy morning. Not much to say so I'll be back later.

When I was at the bank they asked for my drivers license. I didn't have it. She was able to do our transaction using my SS number. When I got home there was a message on my phone from the car dealership that I left it there. They are mailing it to me. I figured it was there. That's the last time I used it.

DH and I made an agreement that we would not go to the casino this week. I don't expect him to hold up to his end of the bargain. We can't go on Wednesday because that's when I bake. I'm going to make 3 pies and a pumpkin roll. Step daughter will take a pie.

Mad, I'm glad your test came back negative and hope DHs does too.

Carol Sue Glad the car dealership called and are sending you tour driver's license.

BIL test came back positive so he is quarantined till Friday. So they are both recovering from it now.

Day 2 went very well. For some reason IE/IF is so much easier this time. I want to be careful not to get cocky though. Just take One day at a Time.
