Trish, I don't think there is an approved treatment for covid unless you are bad enough to be hospitalized. It says online to ease symptoms with Tylenol.

Weight loss is never one size fits all. Anytime you talk to a group of people they will have different paths to success. You probably have to keep making changes once your body gets used to what you are doing. You will get a drop when you least expect it.

Back down .8 to 192.2. Not as low as I want.

The virus is surging again in our area. Some schools are closing, and there's talk of closing restaurants again. I would be happy if they closed the casinos for a while! I have to get my dog groomed before they close too. I guess I'd better buy some meat. I hate to do that because DH hates frozen meat. But I'm tired of all the carbs. I need protein.

Hope you're still ok Trish.

My weight back up to 190.2 but then I'm not surprised with that keto ice cream bar I ate. LOL. Thankful it isn't worse. Didn't affect bs though because FBG was down to 105 from yesterdays 110 so that is remarkable.

Carol Sue I know you get tired of the casino and I'm sure by the time I write this that you are at the casino or on your way. I hope your day goes well and sorry to hear that virus is going back up where you are.

I'm feeling fine. I'm a little tired today as I wanted to stay in bed but got up any way. Not one to stay in bed. I got up at by 9:30 which is later than I want to stay in bed but the time got away from me and I didn't get to bed until around 2 and I try to make myself get at least 7 hrs sleep. Haven't heard from DS yet this morning but that isn't unusual when BIL is home. Of course, he is quarantined at least until the test results as to whether he has it or not. My beautician called and said the only symptoms she has is being tired. She said she does a few chores and goes back to lie down till she gets some more energy. I hope my feeling that way is just the fact that I stay up too late and not enough sleep.

I switched back to Blue plan and will just stay there. I can still eat the free foods from Purple but will have to count the pts. I don't usually eat whole servings so shouldn't be a problem. If I cook things DH and I both will eat I need the extra pts that I get. I don't want to do Green so I will learn to really work with the Blue. I went on the website where the lady did the foods to eat from Aldi, Target and Walmart. She also does it for Costco but we don't have one here and I'm not a Target shopper these days so I printed out the list from both Aldi and Walmart for the Blue plan. A lot of good things I can get at Aldi's and not have to guess on pts etc on their products. I notice they have a 40 calorie wheat bread that is 1 pt a slice that I could get there. Also their pasta products should be good to use although I don't cook with them often. When I buy it in the store it isn't always what WW says it will be and is higher pts. If I decided to go this on my own, I want more accurate products.

I think I'm going to take it kind of easy today although I am making WW friendly 8 pt pizza for lunch today and do some laundry this evening on the electric companies dime. No formal exercise unless I get to feeling a lot better.

Have a great day.

Trish, if you go to Aldi's, look to see if they have the Lovin Fresh Zero Net Carb bread and check the points on the Multi Seed one. I am just curious about it. I love it. I have used their 45 cal bread and its very similar to SL.

Another bad day at the casino. At least we went earlier so we could come home earlier.

My step daughter got mad because I told her the cough is a sign of covid and she said it is from her sinuses. So she's mad at me for caring about her. I don't expect to be around her anytime soon to be exposed. I will cook her turkey on Thanksgiving and they will pick it up. I would like to teach her how to do it but she sleeps very late and would never get up early enough to do it. LOL. Once I'm gone she will have to depend on her SIL for a Thanksgiving turkey.

Your being tired could be from something else. I would just get as much sleep as possible and not worry as long as you feel ok otherwise.

Carol Sue Sorry things didn't go well at casino. I guess you can't win every time even though we would love to. I will check out the bread when I get to go to Aldi's. There are several things I get at Walmart that I can switch over to the Aldi brand which is good because our Aldi is only about a block or 2 from the local store I go to when I go to the beauty shop. I could do both stores. It would throw me late coming home but I could always get LJS fish on the way home and DH would love that. So I may start doing that when next week after I get my hair done.

I had DH check my temp when he got up because he keeps up with where the thermometer is and I have no fever. The sinus headache I get is no different than any other time when I have it so no new symptoms so I think the tiredness may be not enough sleep and perhaps too much carbs. So I don't think I have covid.

Actually I think that is one thing that is better for me on Blue plan is that I won't spend the pts on a lot of them or even feel like I have to use them. In fact, made out homemade pizza and I couldn't eat all of it which is really good. I got just enough fiber from the flax flatbread estimated that I ate 6 pts instead of 8. I had a fold over black forest sandwich to take my pills for dinner. So I have 6 pts left over which will roll only 4 to tomorrow which I don't need. The strange thing is that I was eating all my pts on Purple plan but I don't seem to need or want them tonight. I really don't want to eat them.

I think the Walmart and Aldi list of foods to buy that I will be able to use it to do WW on my own whenever WW decides to up my monthly price.

The way you talk about WW makes me want to do it but I know I would not stick to it properly. One time I did it online I would be out of points by lunch. I did well when I went to meetings. For some reason it was important to do well when I went for that weigh in. And it was inspirational for me to hear the discussion. But I didn't like our leader. She would not answer questions. Her only answer was "Just follow the program." Plus, to be a leader you had to have reached goal and maintained. Well, she was thin, and had only lost 10 lbs to make goal. So I think she didn't need to lose weight but just wanted the job. I would like to go to a doctor for weight loss but not for shots or any supplements. Just for accountability. But then I start thinking that I should be able to do it without paying someone. Keep the money for myself.

I am down 1.6 lb to 190.6. I felt hungry during the night and my stomach felt empty. When I get that feeling I know I'm going to have a drop. So why don't I do that every day? I did it when DH was in the hospital and lost 15 lbs. Its really easy. Just eat a very small dinner. But somehow when the food is in front of me I eat it all, hungry or not. I felt really nauseated when I went to bed. I think it was the hot dog I had at the casino. I only wanted a drink but DH insisted I eat. Why? I don't know. I was off guard and allowed him to do that to me. But I eventually fell asleep and was fine when I got up.

So today should be a good day since it started out with a good scale number.

I'm glad you are still feeling good. Just keep it up!

I actually intended to make myself stay in bed and get 8 hrs of sleep but when I got up to go to the bathroom, I became wide awake and felt really great so I decided to just get up. So I got about 7 hrs which is good for me most of the time. My weight was up.6 lbs this morning to 190.8 but that is all the sodium in the pizza sauce and cheese. Using the FF/LF cheeses adds more sodium so I'm blessed that weight wasn't higher. FBG 106 and BP lately has been terrific even with the higher sodium so I have no complaints.

I did really well with my eating yesterday. I really enjoy the Blue Plan which is the plan WW put me on to start with. A lot of things don't change much except if I want to eat pasta, rice, potatoes or other non-vegetable grains that I now have use pts for. I don't eat them enough to have to count them and even then I can learn certain brands or types that are lower pts. Example, we are having steak and salad today and I will roast 3 little potatoes each to go along with it and they are only 2 pts for the 3. So it is just learning which low point foods to eat. I still get the taste of the potato and the vitamins from them but smaller portion sizes. I have my plans today tracked through lunch with lots of pts left over for dinner but I still won't force myself to eat more than I need. Carol Sue WW is more for a guideline for me to learn portion control.

I have to wonder if the fact we didn't eat much when we were young if our body are confused by out eating. What people call starvation mode is what my body called normal for most of my life. I had spurts of eating and gaining weight but then I would lose weight and eat less for a while, maybe I am having to train my body not to hang on to so much food when I do eat. Don't know if that makes sense or not.

Not much going on when I'm stuck at home. I still need to do the exercise bike today. Haven't talked to DS today but she sounded really good yesterday.

Have a nice day everybody.

Trish, when I was young I didn't know how much I weighed. I was a teenager when I applied for a job at the variety store. I had to hang around til the personnel manager came back from lunch so I got on a scale that you put a penny in and I weighed 124. That was the first time I knew. A few years later I went to visit a friend and we took pictures. I was amazed at how big I looked. I got weighed after that and weighed 148. That's when my diet began for the rest of my life. I got down to 125 and maintained between 125-135 until I met DH. My eating changed and the rest is history. I knew I was gaining weight but I ate when DH ate and just kept buying bigger clothes. The only thing I can do is eat when he wants me to but only eat a small amount.

I think starvation mode is when you eat very small calorie counts day in and day out. Your metabolism slows down because its not getting enough fuel. Eating the food in a shorter window changes that. That's how I understand IF.

Wt is back up to 191.4 today. I'm not surprised. These weights are fluid fluctuations. I am maintaining, not losing. I didn't think yesterday's big drop was real. I don't lose like that. So I'm OK with this for now. I'm still eating too many carbs.

I didn't get my salmon yesterday. DH made a hamburger for lunch so he was not hungry enough for dinner and just wanted something small. We got Arbys take out. I haven't had Arbys in ages. It was good.

I bought some meat yesterday with the intention of cooking more often. At least I have a few things in the house. DH said he gets tired of me cooking the same things over and over but won't suggest other things. There's so many things he won't eat so I cook things he has eaten in the past.

My weight back down to 190.2 so that seems to be my place right now. I see other people having the same problem. FBG 100 and bp is really good now so getting the weight moving is the only real problem. I am forcing myself to do my exercise. Really tired after doing it but I will keep doing it. I am working at simplifying my woe. Even though there are some foods I like that are really healthy, I don't eat them. They just sit in my cabinet so it is time to work at clearing out my cabinets and getting things organized. Don't know how much I can get done today but trash goes out Monday and I'm going to do at least one cabinet today. I don't know if routine is good for dieting but I love my taquito and I've learned to put veggies in it to bulk it up to make it healthier and keep it at 2 pts. Then I love vienna sausages with cottage cheese and I figure I can have that in the evening for a snack for 4 or 5 pts That leaves me plenty of pts for lunch time whether we have home cooked or take out. Hopefully the weight will finally come off. Some days I will use all the pts and some days I won't or I'll go over sometime, but I hopefully that will keep my body from knowing we are dieting because it will become normal.

Carol Sue I understand about trying to please DH with what you cook. I have the stuff to make hamburgers and tacos, but one day we drove by Taco Bell and he made the statement that he likes their tacos better than ours. So now, I have no desire to make tacos any more. I can't press the hamburger meat flat enough to please him thus we get McDs when we eat them. Neither one of us likes the steaks we buy and said many times that we aren't going to buy them any more. It won't be long until I won't be cooking much of anything.

He got what was on the list the other day but forgot to get any of his junk food because "I didn't have it on the list". LOL He is going to the General Dollar store today to get it so he is going by Taco Bell to get tacos for our lunch. I like taco salads but they aren't making them right now so I will just get 2 tacos and 1 & 1/2 for 8 pts. I don't want to spend 11 pts for 2. That is what WW app helps me with is that I can learn to cut the portion down.

I've got a lot to do today and already behind. I hope we hear from Shaybelle and Fatmad soon. Hope they are doing alright. Hope Pipsicle had a good week too.

Have a good day.

Hi gang: I am fasting today. I am thinking of doing a prolonged fast for a couple of days, will see how today goes. It seems easy right now, its sunny but cold, (just hovering about the freezing mark) and will go for drive to walk the dog in a different place for a bit.
I finished the clinical trial for these eye disks for my dry eyes. In the present form, I would not want to use them, even at bed time. But that is part of the purpose of a study, to find out if a product works, is safe, and would be tolerated.
I think with gratitude about the people who are taking part in the clinical trials for the various Covid19 vaccines. I hope they stay well and will find a safe and effective vaccine for us.
The virus is bad here and spreading rapidly. Not as bad as many areas of the US and Europe, but bad enough. We are hunkering down and not visiting except with masking and distancing and staying outside now. I bought a Covid treat, an outdoor propane fire pit. we can use it outside in our yard if we have guests over, so we can all stay outside, and even then we can take our masks off to visit and enjoy drinks or a snack.
I am going to be hanging out on a fasting site for a bit, I really need to get a handle on the weight and get it off of me. I NEED to get back to 150 ASAP so this may be several 2-3 days fasts over the next couple of weeks. I HOPE that will do it.
Blessings Trish: I truly hope you stay well and your sister is on the mend. Stay safe Carol Sue. Hello's to the rest of our friends here too.

Trish, it is maddening when they like fast food instead of home cooked because home cooked is so much healthier. DH will eat Taco Bell or home made. I just brown ground meat add packaged taco seasoning then chop lettuce and tomato add add shredded cheese. You can use a Taco Bell taco to add just the filling to salad greens you have at home. I do that with pizza sometimes too. I add the toppings and cheese to salad greens. It might not taste as good but it keeps you on plan. We do what we have to do.

I buy thin cut New York Strip steaks at Wal-Mart. DH likes hid steak well done so if I buy a thicker steak its hard to get it done in the middle. I bought some pork to make pork and sauerkraut now that its cooler. And a rump roast. I never cooked a rump roast but how hard could it be?

DH does not like McDonalds. He likes Wendys. I don't like either one.

Good to see you Mad. I hope your fasting gives you results. I admire your ability to do that.

Fatmad You are at freezing weather and our high today is 84 and then we get back in the 70s tomorrow. Hope your fasting does the job for you as it has before. Glad you can work things out so you can still visit with friends.

Carol Sue I wish we had a Wendy's close to us because I used to love their salads and I might could talk him into getting their burgers instead of McDs.

DH got me vienna sausage bites which is even better. I can make a small amount in a small amount of FF cottage cheese and it will only cost me 2 pts for an evening snack so I can take my pills. The tacos were so delicious that I ended both of them instead of 1 & 1//2 as I had planned.

If nothing changes, I will have 2 pts left over.

Our weather is pretty cold, too recently. Our highs are in the 50s and pretty cold at night. I saw snow in the forecast for the coming week. Yuk!

Wt is up again. No sense in even checking it with constant up and down fluctuations. Pipsicle has the right idea, only counting the losses that stay long term. I have to do something to get DH to start eating better so I can too. Our diet has been terrible lately.

Trish, I can't imagine Vienna sausages with cottage cheese. I rarely eat Vienna sausages except on the holidays when I bake then in croissants. I haven't done that for a while. But if you like them with cottage cheese and they fit in your plan that's great!

How is your sister feeling? Did your BIL get tested? I hope they are both doing well.

DH has not been feeling good. He has pain which he thinks is another kidney stone. I hate the thought of him going to the hospital with all the covid patients. But if he has to, he has to. I'm very stressed out about this. Maybe it will keep him away from the casinos. LOL. He is getting tired of drinking so much water and cranberry juice. I wish there was a home remedy that would dissolve the stone. All the men in his family had trouble with kidney stones. Its always something.
