Kelly Ripa is 5'2" and weighs between 98-110. She exercises daily, and eats mostly vegetables, along with fish. I believe that is Pescaterian when you eat fish but no meat. Lately on the show she has been saying she eats intermittently. I seem to recall years back when she was on some other shows that she weighed more. Never overweight, but more normal weight. She is extremely thin now, and they say the camera adds 10 lbs.

I doubt if her kids eat this same diet. Her husband eats Keto. He travels often for work and they live apart for long periods of time so it would be easy for them to eat so differently.

Carol Sue 189.4So happy for you. I am not placing who she is right now, but I am 5'2 1/2 and I think 110 lbs would be too small for me. Babysister's doctor is shorter than me and her doctor told her 120 is a good size for her. She told her to put fat in her diet and get her weight back up when went to see her and had gotten down to 98 lbs without trying.

I still like low carb but I just don't have the personality for it so I don't see any reason to even try it. However, I do have that book called low carb for dummies which tells you how to eat and keep fruits and some grains in your plan and I need to get it out and get the formula she used because it would be very doable with WW Blue or even Purple plans.

Well, I am back to using just daily pts today as I count myself truly blessed by the fact that my scale only went up .2 lbs from yesterday's eating spree. That is all I can call it. I think the thing God has blessed me with is that I DO NOT use any of my exercise pts and I didn't use all my weeklies plus the days I have rollovers doesn't hurt either. After saying all that, I also believe there is a reason WW always say to eat your pts. The point of JUDDD plan is to trick your body into thinking you aren't dieting. I think by rolling over your unused dailies and then going over on days that you pick them up and even may use some or all the weeklies does the same thing. So I'm thinking that if you don't overdo that, then it will not work against you but probably will work for you.

I still have exercise to do and I will meet all my weekly exercise pts today. I cut it back down to 35 pts of exercises so anything I do tomorrow will just be extra. I've picked up some more leg exercises and also learning some yoga moves to help with balance. I am excited about doing those too. I started taking Collagen and taking it 2x a day in my coffee for all the benefits I get from that. I found one that is made with grass-fed items and is even keto friendly Has a lot of things Dr. Fung says we need. I hope it will help build stronger bones and joints etc. The new one I got yesterday doesn't have the vitamins the old one has like B12 etc but I can t ake that separate plus I take good vitamins any way. I am slowly working myself into a routine with diet and exercise hoping to make this a lifestyle routine rather than a diet and exercise.

I think I've even figured out a way to get my house especially this area we are in the most decluttered and cleaned up to make it easier to keep things more pleasant. I thought of it because my niece and nephews are coming over Friday night for supper and a visit. I would like to be able to have company without having to take a day or two to get ready for them to come over. I have a room we don't use and I can put everything I don't know if I want to keep or not in that room and then just work at getting it cleared out and useable. I was reading that you feel better and your diet goes better if you do that.

Hope everybody has a good day and all our plans are working well for us all.

Kelly Ripa has a morning show on TV "Live With Kelly and Ryan.". It used to be with Regis Philbin. I think she is too thin but I would like to lose like that. The thing I notice is her hair no longer looks healthy. I think if someone like that got the virus they would die. I guess I'm just jealous.

I had scrambled eggs for breakfast. DH also made pancakes but I did not eat any. We ran around all morning then we got gyros for lunch/dinner. I ate the meat but not the pita. So I might eat some vegetables if I get hungry later.

Carol Sue I don't think it is being jealous. People who want to be that small have as much of a eating disorder when it comes to eating as those of us that are over weight. We have seen that through the years. I also would like to be able to lose the weight easier too, but I still just want to be a healthy size. My goal is 150 but I would love to weigh 130. However, I don't know if I will ever see that weight on me again.

I finally found a large low carb tortilla that is 1 pt and it folds easily. I can now make a 2 pt taquito with 2 scrambled eggs, 1 sl bacon and enough FF shredded cheddar cheese and it is really easy to to make. The tortilla is so flimsy that I could even make a healthy low pt bean burrito for dinner. Looks like things are coming together. My goal on the woe is to make it simple so that in time I won't have to count pts, carbs or anything else.

Trish, my main concern with my weight is to get off some or all of my blood pressure meds. I have pretty much given up thoughts of getting down to a normal weight but just a healthier weight.

Just once I'd like to have people tell me I'm too thin.

Carol Sue I understand that. I am blessed to only have to take the bp medicine the doctor says I take to prevent strokes and heart attach. I can't argue with him because while my bp is always low at home it is always higher when I go to see him. I think if I could go in first thing in the morning that it would be lower, but since DH and I go together in the afternoon, it is higher because I've had my coffee etc. I think next time that I will try drinking decaf in the morning instead of the regular and see if it is lower when I see him.

Well, I got a bump on my weight this morning which I'm sure is due to my eating spree the other night. I'm either 187.8 or 188 this morning. Of course to normal bathroom trip so that could be there is no real bump at all. I can't decide what I want to eat today so I will have my low carb breakfast taquito and will make DH a pizza and I will have a meal of nothing but veggies today. Just no desire for any meat for some reason. Just that nothing sounds good. I'm taking collagen now and I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. It sure helps me to sleep and I wake up feeling pretty good too. FBG was 109 so it was up too. If my weight is still up tomorrow, I might just skip WI and go 2 weeks before doing WI again.

I read up on collagen on line and decided that I will take it in my morning coffee and take it in a cup of decaf coffee before I go to bed. It seems to have a whole of great health benefits. Wish I had known about it and could have got it when I was younger. I noticed when my niece was here that she was taking it and it is very wise for her to do it. She is in her 30s. I am hoping it will help my bones and muscles.

I've had a week of exercise and it is starting to feel more like a lifestyle rather than a dreaded thing. So I'm happy with that. I read that when you crave PB it is because your not getting enough fat in your diet so I plan to start working it into my plan. I love PB but don't eat it because it is 3pts per Tbls but if I'm craving it then I need to work it in.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Not a good day at the casino.

AM Friday.

Weight stayed at 188.2. I am thrilled. I want to get down enough that I won't bounce back into the 190s. It's spent long enough in that decade.

I am reading a new book "Obsessed.". It is written by a woman who is obsessed with food and over eats. I'm hoping it tells how she overcomes it. She was not obese but she was a television personality and lost the chance for a job because she had gained some weight. So she got her weight down to an acceptable weight but lived her life tormented with wanting to eat. I am not as bad as that but I can easily continue eating until I'm stuffed, or buy a package of cookies and eat the whole thing in one day. She was assisted writing the book with Oprah, Jennifer Hudson, Gov Chris Christy, and some other people who have difficulty with food. Also a friend of hers who had gained a lot of weight. She offered to pay her to help write the book if she also lost 75 lbs. Everyone thought she was naturally thin and didn't realize the struggles she endured. I think right now I am in the frame of mind to make changes as needed. I am happy with the way things are going now but I know I could fall off the wagon at any moment. I will report any noteworthy tip I learn.

Carol Sue Sorry you had a bad day at the casino. Maybe next time will be better. Very glad that you stayed at 188.2 and I hope we both are finished with the 190s. It will be interesting to see what you learn from the book. Thanks to what I've learned with doing WW, I don't think I'm obsessive with anything except perhaps dieting.

My weight was still 187.8 this morning so I showed a .6 lb gain. I haven't been having the BM like I did on Purple since I went back to Blue. However, I looked back at my record since they keep up with it on WW and I notice that this seems to be the way my weight loss works. It is not unusual for me to gain a little and it doesn't seem to be lbs gained but a few tenths gain. I could go back to Purple but I want to give the Blue plan more of a chance so at this time I plan to stay with Blue plan. I probably won't lose as quickly as I could with Green, but at 77 yrs old I don't want to wrinkle more than I am so slow loss is good. Plus I noticed that the weight I've lost slowly over the years I have never gained back. It is the quick losses that keep coming back.

I love how this light rain has turned into a heavy rain. I went to the beauty shop and decided not to go to the store because I did not want to get my hair wet. So I decided to just come home. Thinking about canceling having my niece and nephews over because the little boys love playing out doors and are unruly when they can't. Will see. I hope this is going to work its way out. However, I hate to cancel so if I have them over, I will have to call for pizza delivery for them.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

My doctors appointment was ok. He is satisfied with my blood work but I know I can do better. My weight was 189.2 because it was later in the day but I'm happy that it was below 190. He never says anything about my weight but probably would if I had a significant loss. I was going to ask about Wellbutrin but I decided I want to give it one more try without supplements. Blood pressure was ok. I go back in April, so lets see how I can do over the winter.

Trish, from what you've said I don't think you are obsessive about food either. I know you can eat something and save the rest for another day.

Carol Sue Great news about the doctors appointment. I'm sure you will get things going again. You are trying and that is key. I honestly believe that is one of our strengths is that we both never give up. We may have set backs and we may feel like giving up but we don't. Of course, I think the key for you and me is that at our ages, we know the alternatives thus our stick toitiveness. I don't thing that is a real word I just made up. LOL.

I keep learning more and more exercises on the FB WW 60+ group to help with my legs etc. Today I saw a set on how to strengthen my spine that I want to add to my routine. I've got my routine I've got it up to 15 minutes a day now and it won't be long till I may have it up to 20. I found one on balance that I'm doing and have had 5 days of doing them and while I still cannot stand on one foot too long with out holding on, I actually can do it for a few counts which I couldn't do at all 5 days ago. That is really encouraging to me. I did 20 minutes on my bike sense I didn't go to the store. I may go back and do the other 10 minutes later as my company isn't coming because of the rain. We are going to shoot for a day next week minus the rain so the little boys can play out on the patio.

Ronp7, low carb and walking are both very good for controlling blood sugar and will also promote weight loss. Different things work for different people.

My weight bounced back to 190.8. Darn it. It is carb bloat from dinner yesterday and I'm surprised its not higher. I hope to stay on the low carb side today to drop back down. Some people can lose eating carbs but I am not one of them.

DH didn't feel good and went to bed at 8:15. He was watching tv and I couldn't fall asleep so I got up and read until 11. Then I slept for 7+ hours. I feel good and am in a good frame of mind.

Ronp7 I do better with some complex carbs and exercise. I do one of the WW plans and while walking is a great form of exercise it isn't so easy for me to do so I use a stationary bike and varied other exercises that I have picked up online to work on improving my balance.

Carol Sue I hope your DH is feeling better after a good nights sleep and not coming down with anything. My weight bounced up too, but it was my fault. I don't think I have been getting enough good fiber in my diet trying to cut back on the carbs. It messes with my system and I don't go to the bathroom as I should. My scale was bouncing around this morning and while I saw 190 it did settled down to 189.8 just barely under the 190 mark.

The kids didn't come over last night because she likes to put them outside when she is here and I don't like them running in and I personally don't like kids playing out on the wet grass. However, I suggested she come again when they can play out. Of course time changes on the first and it will be dark but I do have light on the patio. So my eating last night was not caused by them being here. It was me and my mindset that yesterday was WI day. I didn't even track all that I ate. I've decidd to throw out what is left of the junk food. Some of it is stale and some of it I just don't need it.

I got up this morning and went to the local store to get my bacon which they didn't have and also to get the H&H I use to make DH yogurt and he needed some strawberries since he was out. I also got me a box of fiber one cereal to alternate for breakfast now that it is getting cold weather. I like oats or fiber one with yogurt for breakfast when it is cold weather. I'm thinking about going back on Purple plan so I will get more fiber, however, for right now I am eating it and counting the pts on the Blue. If I find that I can do it counting those 0 pts foods while on the blue, I will just stay with the blue pts. So I came home and had a bowl of oatmeal. I had 1/3 of a cup for 2 pts which isn't bad and I had just enough PB in it for taste. So I had that for with the yogurt for a total of 5 pts on blue whereas it would have been only 3 pts on purple. So we will see. I don't need to add a lot of fiber foods but I do need to add enough to keep me regular.

I am behind on all that I usually do on Saturday with having to go to the store so I need to get busy. Hope all is well with Fatmad and Sharbelle. Looking forward to hearing from them and hope to hear Pipsicle tomorrow and hope she has had a good week.

This book is holding my interest. I'm not learning anything new but reinforcing what I already knew. Diet is a noun. It is what you eat, it is not something you do. A person who has issues with food will have them the rest of their life. We can never let our guard down. And this one applies to me....we can not successfully lose weight eating a list of foods someone tells us to eat. We have to eat foods that we find to be satisfying. We can, however change the foods we like. I have done that. I would rather have a little bit of a favorite food than a lot of something that is just acceptable We have to know the difference between a really good piece of cake and a piece of cake that's just not worth it. I am a little more than halfway through the book.
