Hi Everyone.

TAF. I think I'm going to sleep well tonight. My pedometer came in at 2.5km and that's good. Tomorrow is weigh day. I did a 20 hour fast today. I'm dozing as I type.

Well, I did track the 191 today on WW. I decided that if I'm going to do this to be honest with it. DH decided to get McDs CB for lunch so I ended up with 28 pts today which means I used 5 weekly pts today. I even did 15 minutes on the bike besides the little bit of core exercises I did besides the walking in the store. I was hoping I wouldn't have to go to the local store tomorrow but I couldn't get any of iceberg lettuce for DH at Walmart so I will have to run by the store tomorrow before I come home. I'm thinking about going early and go to the store before my 9 am appointment so I can come right back home from the beauty shop.

I saw something on FB about Keto and someone has done a free e-book telling how to keep from making the mistakes she made when she started doing it. She supposedly shares how to make the transition into keto without the mistakes she made as she said she had a very difficult doing that.

I have to get up early to leave here by 8 if I go to the store before the beauty shop. So I'll check in when I get back. Not sure I will weigh tomorrow since I'm getting up earlier.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Shaybelle We must have been typing at the same time. I notice the carby foods seems to make me sleepy and then add the exercise today and I could go to bed too, but I won't because I would wake up at 3 in the morning and that would be too early to get up for me.

I sure wish I could do the long fasts you and Fatmad do. Good for you.

I also ate supper last night, but did better re the eating window, so stayed at 159 today.
I will plan a fast today. While I do get my steps in, I am dead tired by 4 pm every day. I really have trouble getting off the couch the rest of the day, and getting other stuff done, even stuff I enjoy and want to do. I did get some "chore" emails out of the way last night. I really had to force it. Today I will have a little work in the morning, and a zoom meeting in the afternoon. So far, no planned work for the weekend, but I am on call. Will see how we do.

Ok, 3 months to Christmas friends; we can all get through the autumn, and get down with weight and exercise.

Bonjour

Well I was tired but did I sleep? No. I was tired and sore. I have come to the conclusion that I am a pudding lady. I walked around and carried an umbrella and my arms were actually sore from fighting with an umbrella that kept falling on the floor and me keep forgetting but have to go back for. I am out of shape. Its embarrassing. I should not be this sore from just hanging out. But I will say I haven't hung out in ........................................since February 2020. I know I have to start somewhere but I also think I'm feeling it because I fasted 20 hours yesterday and during the day I did not medicate AND I am trying to navigate that. How can I get my pain relief. Hmm I may do some sort of low carb edibles so it doesn't feel like a cheat when I eat them. I think I may make cannabis tea hat wont break my fast. But can I get it down with no sweetener? I'll just put the decarbed cannabis into a tea pot and then just drink it as regular tea.

Just things to think about. I didn't lose ANY weight since I last weighed. 186.4. I stayed the same ...So I am shaking things up...its been 2 weeks and I have joined an OMAD Challenge in my FB group. Its a 100 day 23:1 OMAD challenge. Yesterday was the first day. I got to 20 but had to end it. I am set for 23 hours today and I'm in 11hr 20 minutes into it. So I am shaking things up. Im disciplining my mind and body. I saw way too many cute things yesterday and I am tired of being too fat for accessories. Yes there is such a thing.

Madeleine - Sorry to hear that you were tired too. I felt bad that I stopped your walk but I hoped that it was enough from walking Buddy to make up for it. My family all laughed at me because I was scared the Swans were going to attack me worse. THEN they say "Swans are nasty business." Then why are they just walking around? I'm going to get some new footwear and I should be able to walk longer. The ones I had on were too narrow. Its all good though. I did exercise!

Patty - I DID wake up at 3:30am. I made myself go back to bed for another hour but it didn't stick. Fasting makes my metabolism speed up. It felt warm last night but DH was just right and slightly cool. Then when he got up for work at 6am I was like "oh well. stop fighting it and go with it."

I actually woke up before 6:30 this morning. I had the alarm set for 7. I actually did my core exercises before getting out of bed as usual and was up by 6:45. Made my coffee to take with me and left in time to go to the store before going to beauty shop. I didn't mind doing this for DS today but wouldn't want to do it like this every week.

DS came in before I left the beauty shop and she had one of the blouses I bought her. It is neat that we both are wearing the same size blouses now that we have both lost so much weight. Funny thing is that I didn't realize that was the blouse I bought like mine. We were twins today. So I guess the other shirt isn't like the one I thought it was. Oh well. I am so proud of her. We aren't wearing the same size pants though. As soon as I get my new jeans she will get the ones I'm wearing now.

I am not giving up my fruit, but I am going to cut back on the carby foods. I came home and had my eggs and bacon with salsa and FF cheddar cheese. However, I did use H&H in my coffee. I need to have the little bit of fat that I get in that. DH saw fajita meat in Sam's and asked me about ti so I got 2 bags of chicken fajita and one beef plus I got pulled pork. I noticed a lot of people on WW use them from Sam's club because they have less pts per serving only 2 pts per 3 oz isn't bad. I'm having chicken fajitas in my salad today with a side of broccoli. I also went back to using the FF milk for lower pts. I've only tracked breakfast and planned lunch so far and it looks like I'm going to have my 4 pts that I can rollover to tomorrow plus maybe some more. If I knew I could be consistent with JUDDD I would do it, but not sure I could. I know I would be able to do 500 calorie days. So why set myself up to fail.

I'm still thinking about switching back to low carb even Atkins. If y'all remember I was doing great eating that way in SC but when I moved back to TX there was no way for me to stick with that going out to eat at Whataburger 3 days a week with Daddy and DS. It was impossible to do low carb of any kind going to fast food eating 3 mornings plus out for lunch some weeks with Daddy. Even if DS and I decided to go out for breakfast once a week, it is possible to do LC. I could do it like I did in SC doing low carb most days and when I have to have a day out some place where LC isn't possible, I just turned it into just a CAD (Carbohydrate Addicts Diet) kind of day because I learned that one meal even in a week isn't going to ruin everything for me. Right now I am working at fitting it into my WW plan if at all possible.

Fatmad I hope you start feeling better. Is it the carbs you are making you so tired or is something else going on? Stay safe.

Shaybelle I'm glad you could go back to sleep after waking up at 3:30am. When I do low carb, I find it very difficult to sleep. I will say that eating carbs does seem to help me sleep but it doesn't seem to help me lose lbs.

Carol Sue Did you guys go to the casino this week? You never said or I missed it. Hope you enjoyed. Are you going to do a virtual docs appt or go in to see you pcp. I seem to remember you wanted him/her to check your ears.

I walked a good 30 minutes at the store but still want to do 15 or 20 on the stationary bike so I better get up and do it. Y'all have a good day.

We went to the casino yesterday and I must say I enjoyed it. We didn't win but didn't lose. We played until 10pm and brought home the money we came with. That is like the old days when we only lost once in 4 trips which is not bad. They have periodic drawings and my name was called to win $100 in free play. But I know it doesn't always turn out that way. Often you put your money in a machine and it gives nothing in return. That is why its called gambling. They are in the business to make money. I ate breakfast at 9am and nothing else all day. I only had a bottle of water to drink. By 10pm I was so hungry! I had a headache and was shaky. Tested BS and was at 81. I got a hamburger because I was starving!

I was rewarded with a drop of 1.4 lbs to 191.2 but I was probably dehydrated. I hope it holds. We went out for breakfast then to Wal-Mart. I don't want to eat again until dinner because he wants to go out. I want to get a steak salad and I want to be hungry.

Mad, I am a morning person. Usually up early and more active in the morning. After 5pm I am useless. I wasn't always that way but I never stayed up late. It was early to bed, early to rise. I agree with you that we should all knuckle down from now to year end. Start the new year with a good number.

Trish, I don't know how much of what you are eating so I can't offer an opinion. Zero points foods scare me because its still food and has calories. I know you are staying within the points assigned to you but we are all different and our bodies process food differently. I don't feel they can assign the same points to everyone. I agree with cutting back on carbs but keep the ones you like. Fruit has vitamins and fiber. You can still have small portions of the carbs you like but not all in the same day. A different one each day. Increase protein. I recall you were losing well when you were using the protein shakes. I think you will figure it out. Don't quit. This has worked well for you.

Shaybelle the more you move the more your body will adjust to it. I need to heed my own advice!!

My dinner was great! That steak salad is expensive but worth it because its better than any I've ever had before. I was craving steak. They have other meals I'd like to try, too.

Carol Sue Glad you enjoyed the steak salad. It sounds good to me as I like those kinds of salads too. I used to love it when we went to Wendy's because they had terrific salads. In fact, I took 3 oz of the chicken fajitas, my salad and the nuked broccoli and mixed it all together in a salad for lunch today. I have to say it almost reminded me of the Wendy salads I used to eat.

I actually don't go overboard on the 0 pts. I do use a lot of 0 pt veggies cooked and salads. I just eat a normal meal. The only starch I do have is my crackers with my salads at lunch time. I remember years ago when my MIL was using the old calorie plans where salads without dressings of any kind were not counted. So this diet plan reminds me of that. In fact, a lot of the way I eat these days is more like the old healthy food exchange plan. I usually only use 1 or 2 fruits each day only because on those plans diabetics didn't eat more than 2 or 3. I honestly believe I am eating pretty healthy. Plus I am watching getting portion control more under control as well.

I honestly believe I am losing inches because my blue jeans are way too loose. I'm just hoping that the jeans I bought are not going to be too big when I get them next week. I realized today that could actually wear should have ordered a large blows instead of a 1X. So I am making progress. I just need to remember that. I just wish the scale would catch up.

Hi friends: 157 today. I am going to make myself stick to a plan for the next while. I am going to write it out so DH and DD know about it, and maybe help me during the "arsenic hour" at 6 pm. I may take Buddy for an extra walk about then while they make and eat their suppers.
DD is gone for the weekend, and DH is planning to go to the cottage on Monday with Buddy. DD has promised to be an exercise buddy for me and make me walk. I would take my walking poles, which I can't use when walking the dog.
. Shay, maybe we will have to meet up again and walk, I will get you moving. Or running away from a swan will do it, LOL.

Yes, you are out of shape. There is no shame in that. But getting moving, even the 2.5 km will help the blood sugar. I think CBD or a combo CBD and THC oil will give you the pain relief without sugar like edibles have. I just put my drops under my tongue at bedtime and I'm good. I do just plain CBD with is helpful with my sleep.
I have slept well a few nights in a row. Still tired all evening, but I wake up feeling ok.
Dr. Fung advises against too many OMAD in a row, stating that you can't eat enough at one meal to equal a day's calories, and you wind up in a calorie deficit, not a fasting state, and that you will mess up metabolism this way. Have you read the obesity code or diabetes code by dr. fung? I can lend it to you if not. You will do what you think best, of course. Just more information.

Carol; I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself at the casino, that seems to the be the exception and not the rule. But a good day out is fun, and you ate well as well.

Trish: getting new clothes is the most fun part of losing weight. There are a few things I miss, but I have been happy that I can put stuff into the thrift store collection bins again. If the "new" clothes get too expensive with rapid weight loss, you can always go thrifting, which is a different kind of fun that regular shopping. I do not love shopping for clothes much, but don't like online shopping for stuff usually, since I can not try it on to see if it looks good, and returns are so difficult.
I also wonder about low carb for you. Like me before celiac, I seem to remember you did not do well with LC. You can't eat very high fat, it made you sick, and you had trouble sticking to the low carb, especially when eating out, which you really enjoy with family members. Think carefully about switching as you have done really well cycling between the green and blue plans on WW. Maybe tweak those to be more low carb?

We have turned on the heat here. It is going down to frost levels overnight. I'm ok with the cooler house in the morning, but DH finds it hard, so when I come down in the morning, I am turning on the furnace and warming the house until he wakes up. We are dressing toasty warm as well, so can turn off the furnace once he is up.
Cool weather here for the weekend.
Lots to do today, have a great weekend friends

I had another drop of .4. 190.8. I know I am dehydrated. I have had slight potty issues for several days and I don't know why. I didn't have it for a few weeks and thought those days were gone. Its great for the scale but is not true weight loss. So. I will take it but won't be surprised when it bumps back up.

Trish, Mad and I seem to agree that you should just lower the carbs but not try to do LCHF. Otherwise, you are losing inches. Don't put so much stock in that number on the scale. A plateau can last a while but eventually the scale will move again. It is very hard for me to accept that too but I don't stick to plan as well as you do.

Fatmad and Carol Sue Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. In fact, I find it more of a confirmation because that is what I've already decided to do. I am very good at working to keep my pts down. One thing that WW has done for me is to teach me portion control. Example, DH and I both love crunchy Cheetos. However, when at Sam's we found them in little 1oz serving packages in a box like we used to get the potato chips which we stopped buying a few years back when trying to do keto with Dr. Berg. I don't know why we got the box because we could have gotten a huge package so I could have continued weighing out .5 oz on days I want them. For 2 days now I've been eating the package. I think it was a misunderstanding of he thought I wanted the little packages and at one time I would have. but now that I am doing WW, I don't want the 1 oz packages. Any way for 2 days I've eaten 1 oz package which costs me 5 pts. I guess it did that because it is a serving size, but I didn't stop to think that I don't eat a serving so I need to start weighing out the .5 oz and save the other half for another day.

I said all that to say that I am making such good progress doing the WW that I am going to stay with it. I also decided that knowing my personality that it is better for me to be able to eat whatever I want rather than to decide that there are foods I can't eat. I was in the kitchen cooking the other day and I heard a quick ad on something DH had on and it was Oprah saying "I can eat anything I want on this plan". I realize that I do better when I know I can have whatever I want to eat as long as I stay on this woe. I just have to stay within my pts. I consider myself learning self-discipline with exercise each day and I have decided to think the same way about eating on the WW blue plan.

Carol Sue 0 pts foods are not a problem as long as you watch the servings as portions are important. They don't seem to do it on this plan but used to if you ate larger servings it became 1 pt instead of 0. That is like my crackers at lunch. 5 club reduced fat crackers are 2 pts, but if I eat only 3 it is 1 pt. Some days if I have the pts, I eat 5 but most of the time I eat only 3. I usually eat saltines because they are 1 pt for 5 but I don't need 5 so I eat only 4 because that is all I want. So I've learned to use my pts wisely. Today we are having steak if I have the fat in the steak it is 6 pts, but I will trim off the fat and it will only cost me 3 pts. I will probably cut the fat off of the steak and cut up the steak into my salad like I did with the chicken fajitas yesterday. I will have my starchy snack at supper like I did last night if I need or want it. I'm also eating only if I am hungry so not always within 8 hrs. Sometimes it is 9 or 9 1/2 hr eating window. I probably will continue with that because that is more of an IE feel to it rather than just eating to stay within a eating window and I still don't like eating when I'm not hungry.

Weight this morning back down to 190.4 and FBG was 98. I think sleep was the difference. I think I will go back to getting up around 8:30 to 8:45 again because I think not sleeping enough was causing my weight gain. I read yesterday on WebMD that you can gain weight if you don't sleep enough.

Have a nice Saturday. Weather is nice here in 80s. So glad to be out of the 90s and 100s we get here in TX.

Trish, I had a little more than 8 hours last night but I woke up often. DH does not leave the TV on like he used to. Its off by 11:30 now, thank God. But if I wake up early like 5 or 6 and can't fall back to sleep I have to get up. I can't lay there tossing and turning. 7 hours is my average.

I got my refund from the insurance company so now its just income tax I'm waiting for.

I baked a cake for step daughters birthday. Her favorite cake that her Grandma used to make. She took it home. I dont want it around here. I don't know what I will have for dinner.

We ended up getting pizza. I ate 1 slice. I wanted more. Not hunger, just desire. But I resisted. Grabbed a bottle of water instead and the desire went away. I might be up on the scale tomorrow but its a NSV for me to say no to more pizza. A step in the right direction.
