Trish, that was the WW that I did when I used to be out of points by noon! LOL. After that they switched to points plus and I lost on that one. I think that one compared to blue and everyone complained that the points on most items were higher. The first WW that I did didn't have points. It had exchanges. You got a list of foods and it told you how many to have from each group. I gained on that one. I do not do well when I am told what to eat. I have to just eat less. I think WW is a great plan. You can eat whatever you want as long as you count the points. I wish I could do WW but I feel I would waste my money. Eating less by fasting is what works is best for me but I now have trouble sticking to it. I am too impulsive.

I felt thin this am so I got on the scale, and was down 1 of the 2 I went up yesterday. Today is casino day so I will not eat much. Tomorrow I might be down to where I was last week or close to it. I don't know what I will do about weighing.

I was reading online an article that explained that when you diet and exercise the body senses that weight is going to go down and fights to hold onto the weight. This is why it is so hard to lose and so easy to regain. There are those who can lose quickly but eventually gain it back unless they continue to fight it all the way. Then there are those who just can't get the weight to budge, like me. They recommend a flexible plan, compared to 80/20. Don't try to be perfect all the time. I think I take that too far. I diet 20% and go off it 80%!! LOL Some people lose 100 lbs then gain it back, then they do it again. I only want to lose 50 lbs. I guess I don't want it bad enough.

A quick flyby since I have to go get bloodwork this morning and do Friday stuff today. I will read all of your post and reply when I return.

I am thankful that I lost .6 lbs this week. WI was 196.2 so I was back down with a little extra from yesterday. FBG was 114. So strange that the weight is up FBG is lower when weight is down FBG is up a little. Oh well it is what it is.

There was no one else getting lab work when I got there. The girl told me that although they give us an appt for today, that we can come anytime between 7:45am and 4:30pm. So that is good to know. Store was a little less crowded when I got there but was picking up when I left.

Carol Sue I'm glad you weight was down a lb today and hope the other one comes off too. It makes sense to me that the body would respond to exercise like that. I have read that when we start dieting that our bodies do that too. I really think you and I both are too hard on ourselves. We also may be cutting back to much when we are OP. I've not been eating all my pts and yesterday I say someone on FB green plan tell a lady who said that she couldn't eat all her pts that she would lose better if she did use them even if she used them on something special that she likes that will cost her more pts. I think if we could just learn eat when we are hungry using more of the IE ideas that we would automatically eat a flexible diet of pts/calories because there are times I don't want to eat and then there are days I could eat everything in the house. I know when I am following a plan I get so upset with myself if I can't or don't follow it it perfectly. Then I stress out because I end up beating myself up.

You said today that you only wanted to lose 50 lbs. That made me wonder how much I have actually lost over the years and how much I have to go. I think when I went to see my doctor in SC to lose weight a few years ago I weighed about 238 lbs. which means I have lost 41.8 lbs so far and to get to 150, I only have to lose 46.2 lbs to get there. If I stop there, I am almost half way there. I probably weighed more than 238 but that is only what I can remember.

Carol Sue I didn't do very well on the the WW exchange either. However, when they changed the routine of it years later, DH#2s aunt was attending and I couldn't afford to go so she would get me copies of the plan as she progressed and I learned how to move things around to fit the plan and I did lose weight. My MIL at the time was on it with her sister and wanted to do a contest with me but Auntie didn't go for it because she said I would win all the time since I had more to lose than them. Any way I liked that diet too. I also liked the Flex plan and did really great when I learned to mix the Core and Flex together. There was a bunch of us that did that and those on Flex and those on Core only were really ugly with those of us who mixed it. I never knew why except that we were losing better than them.

I bought a lot of veggies. I've got red chard greens cooking now for dinner. I have only had a banana so far. I bought bananas and watermelon for fruit. I never made it in the house with the watermelon. Lifting in and out of basket and car was all I could do. I so out of strength. DH will have to bring it in when he returns from getting his bloodwork. Amazing how for years we couldn't eat watermelon but now it is a 0 pt food. It is something I can't over eat though since it really fills me up. I think they have learned so much about the nutrients especially the lycopene. I got some zucchini to cook too. I may start eating 0 pt veggies in the evening along with my protein. I used to do that in SC. I got away from eating like I did in SC when we moved to TX and I was running with him and DS and then when he got sick it became easier to pick up take out or grab something easier but not necessarily healthy. I felt pretty good when I was eating healthy along with my exercising in SC and so did DH. I want to get back to eating that way again.

DH has been taking the stronger Berberine I got and his has had a few FBG reading in 120s. So I think we have found what will work for him now. I started it today and hopefully with my diet changes and exercising, I will get it down to normal.

Fatmad I know you are on call. Hope things are going good for you and you are getting the rest you need.

Trish, we did lose at the casino. I did not play. I am so mad that it doesn't matter to him to give them money and get nothing in return. I thought he would get tired of it. It was in the paper that they laid off 170 people because revenue is down. So why would they let people win? I can only pray that he will open his eyes. He is addicted.

DH will not buy a watermelon because they are expensive. I think that's funny after wasting money at the casino.

That's good that the berberine is working for both of you.

Do you remember when you took the MCT oil? What is it supposed to do? I bought some MCT oil capsules. I was afraid to take them but I finally took one and I didn't get hungry all day.

Carol Sue I am sorry that your DH is so addicted to the casino. I will pray with you about it. think the MCT oil is supposed to keep you from being hungry. Sorry don't remember if there was any other reason or not. Remember I couldn't take it because it caused me stomach problems.

I have had to almost force feed myself today to eat as many of my points as possible and still have 4 that I can't eat and I will not force it. I just decided to eat some pecans to get some omega 3. I did earn 5 pts for fit pts so I've got a good new weeks started.

I was so disappointed in the red chard. I don't know where they were raised but they were terribly bitter so I ate a few bites and threw them out.

I have done nothing but sleep since dinner. I don't know why but the combination of getting up so early so I could go for bloodwork before the beauty shop or what, but I have been absolutely wiped out. My back has been so sore as well. I did walk a lot at the store and lifting that watermelon so many times in and out of the basket and car was just too much. I had to leave it on top of the freezer in the garage when I took it out of the car because I just could not carry it any longer. So I am going to have to start exercising my arms more when sitting in my recliner. I hope a good nights sleep will help.

I am back down to 192 which is good but I had no loss this week which is not good. I wouldn't care if it was half a pound, I should see a loss.

I read that the MCT oil is supposed to help you get into ketosis, increase metabolism and give you energy. The capsules are 1000 mg and the oil is in MLs. I'm no mathematician but from what I read online I would have to take 18 of them to reach the recommended amount of oil. But I don't want to put it in my coffee. You actually can put these in your coffee and the capsules melt. They really did keep me from being hungry but I rarely get hungry anyway. We're eating too often around here to get hungry. LOL. I saw online that they also come in 3000 mg but I will see how these go. I took one twice a day yesterday. It said to avoid stomach issues you should take them with food. But I thought they were supposed to keep you from getting hungry while fasting. Food defeats that purpose. I will read more about it.

I will be anxious to see if eating more has any effect for you. All it does for me is makes me gain. I remember they told you to eat all your points but most at my meeting said they did not. I just know the more I eat the more I weigh.

I will pray about the gambling, too. He wasn't like this when I met him but there was no lottery or casinos back then.

I could never lift a watermelon. I can't even lift a gallon of milk. That's why we started buying half gallons. I used to not be able to lift the coffee pot to pour my coffee but I can do that now.

Hisdaughter has been calling him daily. It's mostly about problems she has but most of the time we only hear from her if she needs something. I told her she better keep close with him because he won't be here forever but she says he has a lot of time left. His son calls him 3 times a week. We rarely see them.

I am ending the month of July with a 1 lb loss which is something for me. It is 1 lb less that I normally lose in a month so WW along with a lot of prayer is helping. I don't know if it is the getting up late or the Berberine or both but FBG was 99 this morning. I hope it is the Berberine. I went to bed early with back and neck ache plus indigestion. I bought the colorful bell peppers and cut some into my salad yesterday and i belched it all night long. I put the tens machine on my neck and started feeling better what I was so sleepy that I could not go to sleep if that makes any sense. So I took an OTC sleeping pill. And now I am dragging around. I'll probably sleep most of the day.

Carol Sue WW also says that you have to use all your daily pts or you won't lose, but if I can't eat some of the pts then I won't. I gained all this weight because I did what everybody said and forced myself to eat 3+ meals a day so I refuse to continue eating that way. It is funny but when I was making myself eat more in the beginning, I had nightmares of someone forcing me to eat food when I was not hungry. As I look back that is exactly what was going on in my life at the time.

Boy if MCT oil gives you energy, I sure need it. In fact, I'm wondering if I need to go back to taking the B12 shots. I thoght about talking to DH about it. I hate driving over there every week, but I will.

Strange how kids are. My DGS who lives here has not called me since the time I couldn't keep my DGGS. I'm sure he is busy working but you would think with this virus going on that he would at least check on us. I think that we think of our parents as always being there and we forget that they won't be. I know DS and I were talking about how strange it feels not to have Daddy any more. It is strange as to how we didn't get along all those years but at least I knew he was always there for me especially if I needed him and it just feels really strange to know he isn't there now. And then for the 13 years that DH and I lived in other states, I talked to him at least once a week but can't even do that any more. We become wise too late sometimes.

I think I'm going to go take a nap before I have to cook dinner. Have a great day.

Trish, my step children didn't see their mother for 9 years before she died. They always said they would go to see her next year, then she got cancer and died. I don't know if that bothered them or not. They were 9 and 11 when they came from California to live with DH so I don't know how well they remember her. I don't want step daughter to be sorry she didn't spend more time with him.

I cannot take anything for sleep besides Tylenol. I used to take Tylenol PM with benadryl but it made me feel groggy next day. Not refreshing sleep.

We went to TX Roadhouse. I might not have been hungry because nothing tasted as good.

No scale this morning. I guess I will just cut back on my weighing to a couple times a week. I am only going to weigh when I feel I may have lost. I'm still not wanting to see the fluctuations.

Today I want to clean. I hope DH doesn't decide he wants to go somewhere. Yesterday I did laundry and the only place we went was Tx Roadhouse then Dollar Tree on the way home.

Tomorrow we will go to give DGS his birthday present. I don't want to stay long. There might be something he wants to do for his birthday. I hope they don't have other people over because if they do I definitely don't want to stay long. He usually has a kids birthday party at somewhere fun but I don't think he will be doing that this year.

I have no plans for meals today.

157 this am. Carol, I understand the struggle, I have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds all month. Not sure where to go with things.
Thursday was DH birthday, we had a nice supper, but I was called out before dessert, but made it home to bed at a reasonable hour.
Last night we had time alone, because DD went away for the weekend. But I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep. I really feel it since I have been sleeping well since going off the Wellbutrin.
I am wondering about starting the St. John's wort. Do I really need anything? I am going to do more yoga and meditation and try to work on my mental health without drugs for now I think.

Buddy has something causing inflammation on one side of his groin. Very red. No obvious cause. I put some steroid cream on it. We have a vet visit on Tuesday, but I hope it will be better by then, it was a little better this am. Have to keep him busy, dogs won't stop licking sore areas, but I don't want to put one of those cones on his head!

Hope you all have a good day. I have other DD coming tomorrow to make a birthday supper for her Dad!

Max, I hope you will be able to stay off the meds. I think your work schedule has something to do with it since you go out all hours.

I think my Glimiperide has something to do with my inability to lose. If I could keep my carbs low I could at least cut back to a minimum dose. It is known to cause weight gain because it increases insulin production. It never caused weight gain for me even after my dose was increased but I think that is because I am so weight concious. But I really think it could be keeping me from losing. You can't check insulin levels like you do blood sugar. My doctor keeps telling me there are other meds I could try but I want to stop meds, not add more. Most all of my medical issues are weight related so if I could lose some of it my blood sugar and blood pressure would normalize and my arthritis would improve, too. If I didn't need my BP meds my gout would go away. So weight loss seems to be the answer. I have to keep working at it.

Well, I am feeling human again. I slept almost all day yesterday and slept like a log last night as well. Still feeling a little of the groggy feeling now but at least I can function to get things done that I need to do today and hopefully that will work the rest off. Last night wash will have to be done tonight and this is the day I get meds etc ready for next week. I was not able to try my wax machine on my hands and feet since I got it 2 days ago but will use it sometime today.

I ate all my points yesterday plus my 4 rollovers from the day before because we had chili dogs. The amazing thing is that I usually gain when I eat that but I actually lost instead. I was shocked this morning when the scale read 195.4 so I am down about 2 lbs from what I weighed on July 1st. Now I hope I can keep it since many times I see those lower #s and then bounce back up and lose it before WI day. But I did see it which means it is coming some time in the future. Today I will probably have rollover pts because we are having a regular healthy meal of tilapia, salad and I am having zucchini along with my milk and diet dessert that I have each day. When lunch is over I still have 9 pts to eat and I won't be able to use all of them. In fact, my protein shake and yogurt will only take up 4 pts so I will have 5 pts left over. They are supposed to only rollover 4 of those.

Carol Sue I am sorry about the glimepiride and wish you could find something else. Could you take the farxiga? It helps you lose weight and works different from the glimepiride. DH does better with it but it does seem to make it difficult for him to gain weight. I know DS said that she lost weight when she was on it. I never could take it because yeast infections are the side effects and I have a tendency toward them. In fact, that is how they found out I was diabetic. I didn't go to the doctor because I was embarrassed but the doctor told me it wasn't that kind of yeast infections. I didn't know there was a different one. Any way if you don't have that tendency, you might try that.

Mad I wonder if the Wellbutrin helped you with the weight loss. It didn't seem to help me but they say it does work that way for some people. Also I wonder if you are just stressed from work. I know you are looking forward to retireing. Whatever, I hope you will be able to figure it out.

Trish, I want to control my blood sugar with diet and exercise. I don't want another med even if it helps with weight loss. I feel that it you take something that helps with weight loss you will regain if you stop taking it. I would prefer to just stop the G, but to do that I have to eat VLC. I haven't had any carbs today. DH made a slice of toast with my eggs but I didn't eat it. Son in law brought us a hoagie for lunch but I ate the meat and cheese and not the bun. The bun was VERY fresh and soft and tempting. I would like to do a meat and egg diet for a couple days to jump start this but you know how that goes with DH. We'll see.

Our computer was down today so my WI-FI was also down. Now WI-FI is back up but the computer is not. DH is on the line with Comcast but he's not having much success.

Carol Sue I understand wanting to get off the G and do it without meds... just diet and exercise. I like doing this with the vitamins, diet and exercise. The only meds I take now is the bp meds. I am so thankful that WW is working for me. I really like being able to use a variety of foods that I like.

Our e-mail was down for a while. We could go to the home page of the internet company but the e-mail page wouldn't come up. I set on the phone waiting for a tech for 20 minutes. She came on and I gave her the info and she said it showed it was an on going problem when she tried to go on it and then all of a sudden when I tried it again it came on. I told her if it had worked before I got her that I sure would not have sit on the phone waiting for her for 20 minutes. I clicked off and tried again and it worked. So I don't know what the problem was but I am glad it is working. I hope it continues to work.

I hope you can get yours fixed.

The first person DH talked to told him she thought we needed a new computer. Then he called back and got a tech who scheduled someone to come here Monday and give us a new box. If that doesn't work I guess we need a new computer. I get online mostly with my Kindle Fire so I'm ok til then. I didn't want to spend $$$$ buying a new computer just to find out it was their box. Pretty soon it will be time to pay bills again. If I can't get on my computer to pay them I will have to mail checks. I don't know if I remember how to do that! LOL

I stayed 0 carb so far today and I only needed .5 mg of G. That's how it was when DH was in the hospital and I lost 15 lbs. Blood sugar is at 99 right now and I'm happy with that.

I had calf liver for dinner. I ended up with 976 calories, 15 gm of carb, 55 gm of fat, and 105 gm of protein. The 15 gm of carb came from the scrambled eggs, according to MFP. I had to add more food since MFP won't accept less than 1000 calories. I know I will not be able to continue eating like this but I'm glad I proved to myself that I can if I set my mind to it.

DH saw a 5ft black snake in the yard. He tried to pick it up with a shovel to throw it up on the hill but it slithered under the deck. Yuk!! I hope it comes out of there!!
