yesterday was 2MAD and I overate especially fruit. So I am back to 159 today. I also think I extended my eating hours too much. So today, I will figure out my eating in a bit. Still having my morning tea. The dog woke me up a bit early, barking at someone going by.

I found I was hungry on WW most of the time, and the "free foods" meant I didn't lose weight. The points and free foods were confusing to me that way.
I hope you find the balance Trish, each of us can find the right way for ourselves.

Have a good Saturday friends.

Well, they are NOT free foods as in eat as much as you want. They have zero points but they do have calories and are to be eaten in specific portions which are small. WW is nice that no food is forbidden, but quantities are still limited. There is no weight loss plan where you don't have to limit something. IF is limiting the time spent eating and that even fails if you don't limit the amount of food eaten during the feeding window. No matter what plan you follow you can't eat more than your body uses. I have to keep saying that to myself over and over and over. LOL

Weight down .6 lbs today and we had creamed chipped beef for lunch only difference was that I ate mine on Sara Lee 45 calories MG bread. I really wish that I had toasted the bread. I was going to but I forgot. FBG was higher today 112 but I think that was the fruit and Equate protein drink. Remember it has sugar in it. It saved me on the weight, but raised the bs. BP is good so I'm planning better today.

Fatmad Sorry about the bump in the weight. I know you well enough that I'm sure you will get back into the groove of things.

Carol Sue I agree 0 pts doesn't mean "free foods" to eat as much as you want. I think we got that from some of the old diets that did work that way. In fact on WW I noticed that when you eat 2 of a 0 food it can become 1 pt. So you have to watch the portions. I compared the blue and purple 0 pt foods again this morning. The only thing the purple plan allows that I like once in a while is brown rice and oats. They have a questionnaire on what you eat and even whether you are eating out more and if you cook or not since some people like DS doesn't like to cook and they use a lot of process foods. Of course, I do a little of everything however many of the questions didn't fit me so my answers didn't exactly fit me. I really thought they would have put me on the purple plan because of my choices so I was surprised they put me on blue. I can change whenever I choose, but I will be allowed 16 pts rather than 23 and I'm not sure about that. Right now I am using all but 4 or 5 pts each day a little more than the 16 but then some of my choice would fit in the purple. I don't mind counting fruits & veggies and protein as 0 but I'm not sure about having 0 pt starches. They ask that you give the plan they give you 2 weeks to see how it works out so I decided to give this 2 weeks. I know I need to real things back some and have more self-discipline and I think the blue helps me do that. Also I don't want to change anything until I get use to the plan and when I get my materials from WW, I can make a better decision about staying with blue or switching. The fact that I'm beginning to lose after dieting so long on bariatrics and having no lasting rewards for it, I might decide to just keep doing what I'm doing. A book will show me the counts on each color and the cookbook they are giving me will be a lot of help too.

I'm also doing IF but not 16 hr fast, but that is because I'm trying to learn to eat only as much as I need to get rid of the hunger. I am probably doing more IE than anything. I don't think I should do this thinking about eating 3 meals and snack(s) within set hours. I remember reading in IE that our body doesn't run on a time clock even for eating. It doesn't know that it is supposed to have breakfast at 7am and lunch at noon etc. That is why they say eat when you are hungry not because it is time to eat. I'm learning this at night when I get hungry. I don't want to eat late, but then I stay up late these days. So I'm beginning to think in terms of eating a little bit of something to just take the edge off and it is working. I try to choose from 0 pts. This has been where raw carrots and celery etc has really been helpful with this.

Carol Sue You wouldn't have to do WW to eat like you like to eat. Do you remember the book you and I have that was by Reader's Digest on the Diabetic friendly foods? Sorry I don't remember the name of it. I realized yesterday that most of these 0 pts foods are the same foods in that book. If I can get control of things on blue, then I might could switch to eating the purple and not go crazy with it. But baby steps right now.

Thunderstorms in the forecast for later today through Monday and then rain all week. So we won't get out any more than we have to. Probably stay home tomorrow unless it clears off. I don't like to get out in stormy weather even for church. However, I am thankful for the freedom to go otherwise.

I hope everybody has a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Trish, I don't want to be choosing my foods from a list, measuring etc. This is how I am. There's nothing wrong with it just not something I want to do. I want to be able to eat whatever I want but limit quantities. No plan.

I think the book was Magic Foods for Better Blood Sugar and another poster posted a long thread about it years ago. It is a sticky in Dieting With Obstacles. Very good information for anyone but can be misleading calling it magic.

I think it should be up to you to do blue or purple as long as you do not try to do the foods on the purple list with the points from the blue plan. LOL. You will figure it out and make it work for you.

Also, for me, not eating after dinner is actually 4-5 hours before bedtime. Since you stay up much later than I do it would make sense for you to have your last food later than I do. During my gaining stage I snacked in the evening and also ate something before going to bed. I did this because DH did. Stupid.

Trish, I cooked steak for us for dinner but I also grilled a piece of the beef liver I bought to see how it tasted. It was ok, tender, but not as good a flavor like calf liver. I won't buy it again but won't waste the three pieces I have left. This is really funny. DH gave a piece of his steak to the dog and the dog won't eat it but he is gobbling up the liver!!

I printed out the purple 0 pts foods and the already had the blue 0 pts foods printed. Marked favorites I liked on both and decided to go ahead and start the purple plan so I can have some of the grains I like. The 16 pts were scaring me away but then decided to give it a try any way. I've got my plans for today. I made my plans throughout today and it looks like I will only use 10 pts today with 6 pts rolled over to tomorrow.

I read on the purple program that it is very difficult to overeat on it and I can see why. I had some brown rice already cooked from my calorie counting days. So we had tilapia and a salad and I added a serving of brown rice and asparagus and I have to say there is no way I could eat another bite. I am measuring and weighing food again while I adjust to this way of eating again. Although I have a 2 pt sandwich tracked for dinner with a possible 0 popcorn snack, but I'm not sure I will even use those pts. Glad I made the switch.

Switching to Purple plan went beautifully today. I was afraid the 16 pts wouldn't be enough but it was more than enough because I have 3 pts rolling over giving me 12 pts rolled over for when we get take out Monday or Tuesday when we go to Sam's and Walmart. Last time I did WW, I got fussed at for not eating all my daily pts, but they don't do that any more. They just tell you that if you don't use all the rolled over pts that you do lose them when you start a new week on WI day. So that more than works for me. I believe this is something I can live with. I look forward to the cookbook they are sending me.

Trish, I remember when they told you to eat all your points, but that was when you didn't have all the zero points foods to eat. If you fill up on them, you don't need all the points. You could probably eat only zero points and only eat points on special occasions. Good for you!

Wt still dropping. 192. Slept for 8 hours but not deep. I stopped taking the magnesium for 3 days so I think I will go back to it tonight and give it another try.

I will continue my cleaning today even though it's Sunday. I'm only doing a little at a time so to not get overwhelmed. The kitchen and bathroom I am cleaning up daily so they are not a bigger job.

It's hot so we turned the air condition on. I have been sitting on the porch in the evenings. I've looked forward to that for so long. I hope to enjoy it more this summer. I might also take my coffee out in the morning sometimes too.

I think the casinos are going to reopen sometime in June but it won't be the same. They will limit how many can come in, plexiglass between machines and wearing masks. That will be hard. The buffet will probably be closed. That's the only part I like!! It will be a long time before our life gets back to what it was.

DH says some people are going to the car show but they are not allowed. His friends are not going until it officially opens in June sometime. He will be happy and I will get him out of my hair for a while.

Hope today is a good day for everyone.

Weight still inching downward. Not fast but that is good because I believe that means it is real. Down .2 lbs to 204.2 and FBG back down to 102 so that is good too. Looking forward to Onederland.

Carol Sue I agree about eating more 0 pts foods. I agree with what they say about the fact that you can't over eat them plus the fact that they are 0 pts doesn't mean they aren't calories, it just means that they have scientifically figured it all out to match those 0 pts + the pts we do use to equal the calories you use each day.

According to the site, I have 11 rollover pts so far this week which means that when we eat out or get take out that I won't have any problems if I'm careful with my choices. In fact, I might not have to use any of the extra pts sometimes, because I looked up pts for pizzas on the site and there are a couple of Domino's personal 6" pizzas I choose from that will cost me only 2 pts. I can't make one at home that good so now we can add that to our takeout choices. I can bring it home and add a salad to it. I told DH that I want to get only chicken legs at KFC from now on because they cost me less pts. I can then bring it home and just add 0 pts veggies with it. I am hoping that when Of course when I go to a steakhouse, it is really easy because I can have a salad with steak and 0 pts veggies. So this is very doable.

The one thing I loved about the bariatrics app is the scanning of the foods and I love it that I can still do that with WW. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to add something they don't have. However, that is what the coach is for.

Carol Sue I know you will be glad when DH goes to the car shows again with his friends. Y'all are like DH and me in that y'all don't go a whole lot but it is nice to be able to go. DH is wanting to go see the kids in FL while gasoline is lower. I would love to go see them but hate the long trip. Plus we have to stay so many days in a motel which is costly. I told him that if we ever get the stimulus checks we are supposed to get, he got one of his but I haven't, we could use it to make the trip. We always rent a car for the trips too to save on our car. Otherwise, I will have to save for it. So we will have to see. Either way I want DH and me to start going places when everything is open. We love going to museums and seeing new places. There are a lot of places we could make one day trips to see.

No rain so far so we could have gone to church but we didn't. However, they keep saying we are going to get storms. I hate that DS and BIL will be following them coming home tomorrow. Niece had bad hail storm Thursday night and had a lot of damage. DS said they drove around town and brand new cars in Ford dealership was heavily damaged. I hope we don't get damaging storms.

Fatmad and Pipsicle Hope things are good for y'all.

Have a great day everybody.

Trish, I don't understand why your DH got a stimulus check and you didnt. We file our taxes jointly so ours came together in 1 check with both our names. We do not do direct deposit so we got a check in the mail. I didn't know there was going to be another stimulus payment. I thought it was voted down. What a mess our country is in over this virus. God works in mysterious ways but I don't understand this one. I do try to trust him.

Glad to hear you got a drop. Anything down is good.

I sat in the sun today and got some sunburn. Not the painful kind, just a little red. When I sit in the sun I lose my appetite. Our deck is very private unless someone is up in the woods, which is unlikely. I told DH I could probably sit out there nekked!! DH cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs and we ate out on the deck. Very enjoyable when it isn't too hot. Over 80 degrees and sunny is too hot for us. Sometimes I put a box fan out there to cool it down. We have an electrical outlet out there. We would like to put a retractable awning out there but we should have done it years ago.

Hope everyone else checks in today.

Question Pending loss- confirm next week?

Mad: Glad you had a good trip! Hang in there- you'll find a path!
Carol: Nice that your weight is dropping! Hang in there- you'll find a path also!
Trish: Excited for you and your new plan; hoping it is just the thing! Also, someone posted a few days ago about counting calories by the week. I know WW uses points instead but it may be worthwhile sharing with OP about how the points roll over from day to day until the week ends.

Surprised to be able to report a pending loss for confirmation next week. I have been self sabotaging the last couple of days to the tune of 1000 calories over. Oh why, oh why, do I do things like this? Although, I do kind of understand "the why" for the last couple of days in my case. I was definitely eating to avoid some emotions. It was so subconscious it took a lot of introspection to figure this out. The thing is I don't know how to have coped with them in a healthy way. This is something I really need to learn.

Let's see- I completed two 18 hour fasts this week. I haven't been checking FBS much. I checked BS this morning but realized it wasn't accurate because I had some milk earlier. I have some frustration with my BS. I tested it before ending a longer fast and it was 107. This was before my recent bout of self sabotage and after I had been OP for at least two weeks. Previously the readings for timing like this, my BS would be in the nineties and occasionally in the eighties. Before eating and breaking the fast, I went on a walk with my husband. It was hot and I was pushing myself. Afterwards, I checked my BS thinking it would be even better but it went up to 128! Ultimately, I have convinced myself it was because I was dehydrated. However, it was still discouraging.

BP is looking better. I think if I can get to a total loss of thirty pounds it may be enough to nudge my BP into the normal range. The new BP guidelines are really strict though and don't seem realistic. I keep trying to find other measures to show I am doing better since the scale is so slow to move and BS/BP are so inconsistent. However, it seems like an exercise in futility. I am suffering from lifestyle change fatigue and am at a crossroads. I am really worried that I will fall of the wagon and return to my worse ways. Getting through this next ten pound weight loss is so critical for me but I feel like I am faltering. How to have faith and hang on?

Yesterday I was able to see my niece and nephew. They had just gotten a new puppy and brought it by to show us. They are doing well. We are all glad school is done. The remote learning was tough. My kiddo got a 79.95% in her science class. The electronic system that keeps the grades was suppose to round it up to an 80% and report it as a 'B'. However, it didn't work right and shows she has a 'C' for the class. I emailed the principal and hope it gets straightened out.

I did learn that my brother's ex-wife's first husband who was in the ICU with COVID recovered from it.

Pipsicle, sorry to hear you have reached a critical point and feel you are faltering. I don't know the answer to this dilemma except to tell you instead of worrying about the pounds you need to lose, look behind and see how many you have lost. You have really done great! You DO NOT want to have to lose those same pounds over again!! You can do this!! You are working on losing weight, increasing exercise, lowering BP and BS all at the same time. Actually, continuing to lose weight and continuing exercise will, in time, correct the other two issues. You have been at this long enough that you have made lifestyle changes that can stay with you forever. And really, it is a lifetime journey, not just something you are doing this week, this month or this year. We saw you start out here and make noticeable changes. Don't stop now! That's an order!

I am glad to hear of the man's recovery from Covid-19. Always good news!

I feel good about myself today. I am getting used to my DIY haircut and am no longer yearning for hairdressers to open. I have had my 2 meals today and did not overeat. H
Now I'm going to clean out the refrigerator and will feel good that that is done.

We decided to have not dogs, hamburgers and potato salad tomorrow for Memorial day. I plan on having a hot dog on a bun and a small hamburger without a bun and having another good eating day.

One day at a time!

Pipsicle I am sorry about your frustration of the faltering, but I believe that will pass as you continue doing what you are. I agree with Carol Sue that you have made a lot of lifetime/lifestyle changes that will get you through. I have been hearing of people who have gained a lot of weight during this pandemic that didn't even have weight problems before which makes me feel that we all have done very well keeping this from happening to us. You are really doing a good job so don't let the faltering throw you off.

Carol Sue Glad you are liking the DIY hairdo. We aren't planning anything special tomorrow do haven't thought about it.

I found a place on line talking about the 2020 WW plan and the Purple is the old Simply Filling plan that I did on WW before. I knew it looked a lot like something I did before when on WW. I did good on it and enjoyed doing it so it will be just a bit of relearning what to do. Also found YouTube sites of recipes which look great too. I am going to really like doing this.

Pipsicle My WI day is Thursday so anything I haven't used by the end of Wednesday, I will lose. Since I don't have to use all of them, I am totally find with that. So far I've used 8 pts today leaving me 8 to choose food later. I'm sure I won't use all of them today either. I just like saving pts for error and for eating out.

I just read online that 2 hairdressers in Missouri went to work for 8 days while having symptoms of coronavirus and exposed 120+ people who now have to be tested and isolated. Why would they not stay home if they had symptoms??? They are so worried about clients coming in with the virus, but that might be how they got it. This makes me like my DIY haircut even more!!! I am soooo glad they were closed!!

Carol Sue My beautician shared a thing on FB of a beauty shop who said they had to shut down for one whole day while someone (sounded like might have been state people) in and thoroughly cleaned the beauty shop because a client came to get their hair done and didn't tell anyone they had the virus. I think that is awful to do that. In fact, I often wonder if they knew and did it on purpose. I would hope the beauticians didn't do it to their clients purposely as I think that would cost them future business.

Weight down another 1.2 lbs to 203.2 and FBG 99. Looks like I have found my woe. Haven't had breakfast or brunch yet. Not really hungry yet. I didn't eat anything until noon yesterday so kind of a mixture of IE/WW. I had quinoa and pineapple for a 0 pt breakfast yesterday and have another serving leftover and may have that later.

I did 30 minutes on the bike and I'm wearing my tracker and the only thing it shows for the bike is the calories burned which I don't trust. However, I just put the minutes into WW and got 2 pts for that. The tracker counts my steps and I'm hoping to get at least 2000 steps in today. I already have over 600. I'm not planning to hook it up to WW since I can just track the # of steps in and it shows my pts. If I can do this 5 days a week it will give me 20 pts. Of course my walking will be counts for 7 days so the walking on Sat and Sunday plus the walking in the store once or twice a week will bring those pts up. However, I have never used my activity pts for food any way and won't do it now. The my goal with exercise is to just get to moving around more.

I am loving this woe. As SC doctor said, this is a woe that I can definitely live with. I ended up rolling over 3 pts yesterday. Planning pulled pork with bbq sauce and cooked cabbage although I have to say that I love raw cabbage. However, DH doesn't have any cold slaw left so I will cook it today although I love just cut off a chunk of it and eat it. We both are in a habit eating a salad everyday although beans would be a good substitute for salad and they're 0 pts and will go very well with pulled pork.

We are getting steady rain so we could go to the store but can't get DH meds until Tuesday or Wednesday since he forgot to tell me I needed to order refill from doc. Weather is supposed to be a little better by Wednesday so it would be a better day although I do hate going to Walmart on SS paydays.

Have a nice Memorial day everyone.

Trish I don't notice a difference at Wal-Mart on SS days but we are usually there by 10 AM. No crowd this morning.

I don't like raw cabbage, only cooked, although I do eat coleslaw. I love Cole slaw with pulled pork. DH doesn't like pulled pork because he doesn't like BBQ sauce but I never made the other kind. Which kind do you make?. I get it sometimes at TX Roadhouse because DH doesn't eat it.

My potatoes are cooling for potato salad. I used up a bunch of potatoes left in the old bag so I w I'll have too much but will give some to BIL.

Glad you finally found a WOE that is successful!!

Neither of us wanted a hamburger so we just had hot dogs, corn on the cob and potato salad. I don't know what I will do with the potato salad. His brother wants it, but doesn't want to come to get it, and DH doesn't want to take it to him. LOL

When DHs nephew was little, DH carved him a yo-yo from a block of wood. He was in the Army, got out, married 3 times, moved around a lot living with about 5 different women, and passed away this past year. This week his daughter was cleaning out his things and found that yo-yo and asked if DH wanted it back. He was a very wild kid. I'm amazed that he kept that all those years, moving around like that.
