I was diagnosed diabetic years ago. I've typically struggled with my weight and numbers. All along I've been told , "cut your carbs!". I went back vegan (high starch) following drs. McDougal and Campbell and Esslestyn. Now I'm safely off all those pills. My levels are great (fbg 84) . It flies 180 degrees contrary to what I'd been told. I feel very betrayed.
Hi Sea. Low carb is just one way to control blood sugar. There are others, and apparently the Vegan diet works for you. We are all different, and different things work for different people.
Congratulations to you on your success!!
Sea: meat proteins are one way to drive up insulin and insulin resistance, and plants are another. One way is not right for everyone.
My IF way of eating with Dr. Fung would agree that your WOE will also work. You can also add in IF if you feel you need to lose more weight or lose it faster.
ON the support sites, most people are lower carb, higher fat, even to KETO, but its not necessary to do that.
You have done well to get off meds and eat better, and enjoy that. Congrats
Yes we all are different and react to different treatments you look like you have it under control most people do not have that. So be thankful for what is happening with you.
