Trish, I wish I had saved the site where I read about the people who seemed to be buying lipotropin shots on the internet and administering them themselves at home. One site I saw yesterday said $175 but I don't know how many shots that was for. Another one said it was for 30 shots to give 2-3 times a week but you had to click on "Buy" to see the price so I didn't want to click. I agree that $15 per shot is not a lot especially since they have to pay the person administrating the shot. This makes me wonder how they make their money since what you have paid so far is really not a lot, considering.

Figure this one out. When I went to bed my blood sugar was 97. When I got up at 6 am it was 160. I guess I got up and ate something in my sleep!

Just a quick hello friends: DH and I will be cleaning up today and doing a bit of last minute shopping this morning. I may make the cranberry sauce today, and otherwise am ready. Must remember to get to the turkey out to thaw as well.
Have a lovely day today and tomorrow everyone, no matter what your traditions and beliefs!
Its always good to enjoy yourself on these shortest days of the year.

Sounds like you are better prepared than I am, Mad. I have done a bit of cleaning but am waiting for DH to get up before making noise. I found my tree skirt, finally. It was in the linen closet. I don't keep it with the tree because I use different trees. Today I will make a cheese ball and prepare a hot spinach dip for baking tomorrow. Pack the cookie tins for distribution. I found the candy I bought. I actually forgot I bought it, which is good! I was upset overnight but it is coming together.

Enjoy!

Carol Sue I'm sure the bariatric place makes most of their money on the people who have the surgeries they offer. I learned that the one gives the shot as well as the NP takes the shots too to keep their weight down. I found that interesting as well.
I've got my ham thawing so I can cook it tomorrow. I told DH that the smallest one we could get with the bone in was 11 lbs so we would be sending some of it home with them. At least ham is something we can have with eggs in the morning as well as meals or even a small snack. I still have laundry to do tonight after 8pm and I need to mop the kitchen. DH will vacuum later today when he gets up. Otherwise things are pretty much done.

Mad Hope you and DH have a successful shopping experience and holiday. I figure a lot of people will be doing last minute shopping today. DH#2s Daddy liked to do his shopping on Christmas Eve because he said he got better deals. There was a time it didn't bother me but now that I'm older it isn't my thing.

FBG was 114 and weight is a new low at 206.4. I hope to be able to keep that or go lower.

I ate half a serving of oatmeal this morning. I was surprised that oats were not in the bariatric app since it is one of the foods they recommend. I am working on more fiber in my diet plan using the info that I found yesterday. I also plan to start eating half servings of some foods to cut back on my food intake.

I also googled whether multigrain bread is whole grain. It turns out that multigrain only has to have a small amount of 2 grains and can be made with white flour. So I can see why it better to eat 100% whole wheat. Isn't it awful that you can eat thinking you are eating healthy and your not?

Hope everybody has a nice Christmas Eve.

Trish, I still think the SL bread is a good choice because of being low calorie. You are doing great.

I made my chicken cheese spread. For the first time in 50 years I made it with canned chicken. I always cook a chicken breast for it. It is good but different. DH went to the store for me because I needed artichoke hearts for a hot dip. I thought I had some but i didnt.

Hope everyone has a nice Christmas Eve.

Carol Sue Glad you are getting some rest time before everyone arrives. My ham is done and I've got the Candied yams ready to put in the oven to toast the marshmallows and fruit salad ready for the Cool Whip. DH will finish the cauliflower dish he is making. I've made everything sugar free except for the marshmallows. So we are as close to OP as possible. I've got a little over an hour before DS and BIL get here. This is literally the easiest Christmas meal I've ever cooked for company.

Merry Christmas to all.

Out Christmas is over. We had a good time with DS and BIL. We went out to see Daddy and he is feeling really low as well as feeling lousy. DS called the nurse and had them check on him. His day male nurse is really super with Daddy. Daddy called me and I talk to the nurse and he had just checked him. He said the x-ray they had taken came back negative and they had to wait 72 hrs for the results of the culture they had taken. They should have the results tomorrow. He said they couldn't give him an antibiotic until they know the infection they need to fight. DH isn't happy with that answer because he says they should have started with an antibiotic and they could change it later if they needed to but they should be fighting it all ready. He plans to complain about that tomorrow at our 3 mo. meeting with the nursing home.

DS and I did very well with our eating We stayed pretty much OP although eating more carbs etc. I'm not sure what the calories are since I most of it was cooked sugar free. Don't know how to track it on bariatric app so we decided not to track today. However, I did track on MFP as much as possible and it showed less than 900 calories for today but not sure about that. I'm not going to eat anything else today just to be careful. I'm very proud of the two of us.

I hope everybody has had a great day celebrating however and whatever they celebrate today. Now I'm going to relax for the rest of the day.

I ate entirely too much and too much sugar. Cookies and candy. I am soo. glad this is over. The best part of the day was that my dog did not bark or growl at anyone. He let people pet him. I think it was right after Thanksgiving so he remembered everyone. I'm tired and am going to bed early.

It sounds like you had a very nice Christmas, Trish. I'm sorry your Dad isn't doing well. Good for your DH for speaking up for him.

I am very proud of myself this morning. My weight stayed 206.4 and my FBG was 113. So I made it through Christmas day very well. Now I'm back OP. Having a Premier shake with blueberries this morning and we are going out with DS & BIL after our nursing home meeting to celebrate DH birthday 2 days after. He decided that he wants to go back to our regular steakhouse. Then we will walk some of it off at Walmart to get his meds and a few groceries we need to pick up. Busy day but then hopefully I won't have to go to the store when I leave the beauty shop tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Trish, congratulations on a job well done! Look how far you have come since we first "met" years ago!

We probably talked about this before but when is DH birthday? My DH is Dec 28. He does not want anything special. But his celebration is going to the casino!!! As always!!

Carol Sue DH birthday was Dec 24. Everything is busy on that day so we never do it on his birthday. Why am I not surprised at what your DH wants to do on his. LOL

We had a lovely meal out on Christmas eve at a friend's place. I brought my tourtieres and they made fondue.
Christmas day dinner was lovely, everyone enjoyed. My desserts were pretty wonderful too, and the rice dressing was all gone, where the stovetop stuffing was not. Otherwise very few leftovers.
Very nice gifts all around. Tomorrow we go to my sister's for a visit. Then we are done our "rounds" for the holidays. I had brunch with DD this am, and ate pretty much Keto, just scrambled eggs and bacon. I fasted the rest of the day. Will fast until lunch with my sister. I don't even want to check weight until tomorrow, don't want to know.....

blessings friends, and have a great day.

Starting the day at 154, which feels ok, since I have not even fasted 24 yet.
Sister says we are having a frittata, and I am bringing the desserts, so no worries about gluten. Will also be low carb if I can stay off the treats.
Have a great Friday everyone
