Default Diabetic inquiries.

Diabetes runs in my family, I think.

I know for sure my Dad has it, and I'm pretty sure his isn't the one that goes away. Mom has it as well, but hers is because of her weight. Every time I've checked my blood sugar, my numbers are within normal range, even after I've had a huge glass of OJ.

Back to Mom. I've lost a little weight and I really want to help her lose some too, because I've heard the stats on having a weight buddy/support system. She has a minor back issue and some days it keeps her from working out with me. What happened is one of her discs between her bones deflated and now the nerves are pinching together. I don't want to do anything too rigorous and I really would like some help on finding a workout and even nutritional plan that's diabetic friendly.

I was hoping maybe you guys would have some tried and true tips and tricks of the trade we could use.

(I really think her back issue won't be as bad as it is now if she loses some of the weight she's recently put on.)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! <3

I like Kim Lyons as a starting point even though I've outgrown it:

Could also try water aerobics/swimming so there's less joint pressure.

Here's several plans -- scroll to the red links in the middle of the page on the side.
