is this forum right for me??

I am not diabetic....BUT... I am taking glucophage for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.... I have many of the typical diabetic symptoms : crazy sugar levels, crazy insulin levels, planned meals....it isnt all that different. Only my problem causes havoc on my reproductive system as well....

Has anyone else taken glucophage? I am having so much trouble because of it. I am never hungery during the day, but when I am stressed in the evening it seems like the sickness from the pill is gone and I want to binge.

I am on metformin/glucophage. I take half my dose in the am and half at dinner time. PCOS is closely related to "pre-diabetes", I think you could fit in nicely here. Do you only take one pill? Does the doctor say only take it in am? Maybe you could take it at lunch? Just a thought.
Anyway - welcome!

I am taking 3 a day, but I can take them whenever I want to as long as it is consistant.... I think I will try to move it later in the day, or even in the evening....thanks!

Here's a link to the forum Ottoette mentioned, just in case you didn't find it yet . . . :D . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=70

BTW . . . I take Metformin also. I split my dose between morning (breakfast) and evening (dinner)

. . . and a couple of other questions spring to mind . . .

. . . how long have you been taking it? -- Often the nasty little side-effects go away after the first month or so.

. . . are you taking it with food? -- When I first started on it, I was advised to take it with the meal that contained the most carbs. Since you are taking three, perhaps one at each of breakfast, lunch, and dinner would work for you.

Good luck . . .
