Weird Inconsistent Readings

I've had it up to my eyeballs. I'm trying for really tight control, because it is better for me then pseudotight control. I am a type one diabetic on an insulin pump, diagnosed when I was pretty young. Did injections until last summer, control was not very good, mostly because of my employment situation.

Here's my readings from the past three days
Monday
B-86, had 1 pack sugar free oatmeal at 24 carbs
post breakfast- 130
L-95 (about 60 carbs)
Post lunch-136
D- 246 (had about 30 carbs, not including 2 margaritas made with lime juice and splenda (twas my 21st birthday after all! I can't not have something!)
Postdinner/bedtime-120

Tuesday
B-120, oatmeal
post breakfast-200
L-80, about 25 cabrs
post lunch- 189!
dinner-103, about 45 carbs
postdinner-213

Today thusfar
B-142- oatmeal
postbreakfast-146
lunch-75

I have readings from days before, obviously, but there is always one randomly placed spike throughout the day. I don't do white flour, period. If it isn't whole wheat, I don't eat it. I avoid high fructose corn syrup and other refined sugars because I think they taste yucky about 65% of the time. I've also cut red meat, and I have a very low fat diet, except for fat from chicken breast, if there is any, plant sources, and half and half for my coffee (I'm NOT giving that up). I also do light cardio (my allergies are killing me right now so nothing too heavy) three days a week and do weight training and yoga the other four. (Increase since December, woot) My control is not perfect, but I want to have at least two years of really good control before considering having a baby (through adoption, possibly biologically, but either way I want to be healthy). I can't figure out what causes the spikes because they don't occur after a certain time of day or after a certain food or after exercise.

Any suggestions? Feedback? Ways to keep my body from hating me? :smug:

I don't know much about Type 1, and using insulin for bg control. I do know that I have spikes at times I can't explain. I know that stress can cause them, and undoubtably the alcohol you had contributed to some of the irregularities in your readings. Have you talked it over with your doctor? I am type 2, and I find that walking- even just a 15 minute stroll - helps my bg levels. I hope someone with more knowledge comes along and give you some insight. I just wanted to respond so you knew someone was reading your post! :)
