Apple Tart with Almond Crust
I made this last night and it was so yummy I had to share it with you!
Ingredients: For the almond crust: 1 ½ cups finely crushed almonds (I used a little less than a 16 oz bag) 3 tbsp butter 3 tbsp splenda or sugar substitute Directions for the crust: Heat oven to 350 F. Melt the butter and mix the ingredients up in a bowl. Grease your baking dish and pat the crust into place with your fingertips. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until the crust is begins to brown. Keep an eye on it because it can brown quickly! For the topping: 1/2 cup applesauce, no sugar added (I made my own) 2-3 granny smith apples, thinly sliced Cinnamon Gently spread the applesauce over the crust. Next, overlap the apples in a circle pattern (or diagonal if you are using a square baking dish). Lastly, sprinkle with cinnamon! Bake in the oven at 375 for approximately 45 mins -1 hour. |
