Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients:

1 (9 inch) Keebler® Ready Crust® Reduced Fat Graham Pie Crust
1 large egg white, beaten
5 1/2 cups peeled and thinly sliced cooking apples
1 Tbsp. lemon juice*
1/2 cup Splenda®
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend
2 Tbsp. light margarine or butter

Preparation:

Brush bottom and sides of crust with egg white. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle apples with lemon juice. In large bowl stir together Splenda®, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add apples. Gently toss until coated. Spoon into crust.
In small bowl combine 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend®. Cut in margarine or butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake on baking sheet in preheated 375°F oven for about 50 minutes or until topping is golden and filling is bubby.
Serve warm or at room temperature.

*NOTE: Omit lemon juice if apples are tart.

Makes: 8 servings
Serving size: 1/8th pie

I made this for my husband to take o school and share with his fellow teachers and they loved it. DH did not know it was die and did not let them know it was either and the all raved about it and want the recipe.

If you want to make icing cookies, check out this recipe! The secret and powerful ingredient is meringue powder. It is used instead of raw egg whites, which are part of traditional royal icing. Tasty and low-calorie)
