  • good morning gang!

It's almost lunch time here and I'm gonna put on my tennis shoes and go walk during lunch.

I got an email back from Cin's husband that Cin is in the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers and hopefully she will be back home at the end of the week and let us know what is going on.

Today is my oldest son's 21st birthday. He had 22 friends over on Saturday nite for burgers and to hang out. He is working this evening so had to celebrate early!

hope everybody has a nice day.

    hugs & prayers,
    cathy
  • MANOMAN....its was/is hot and icky-sticky....I had a wild cleaning spree and shopping weekend....my goal is to make the homestead "comfortable" and attractive...I finally decided a color-scheme for the new room.....(with the big view of the woods and my occasional flasher---did I tell you guys about that one?
  • hello everyone,

i'm not sure if any of you remember me. i was here a few months back and went totally downhill for a while but now i'm back and doing good. i'm back on south beach and have lost 8 lbs in one week.

i have been really bad lately though and haven't been taking my meds. i know i'm supposed to take them with food and i don't usually get up in time to eat before going to work so i take my meds when i eat breakfast at my desk. the problem with this is that i often forget to take my meds during the weekend. and this weekend was particularly bad because when i got to work friday i was run off my feet the instant i got there so i didn't take them that day and like usual i didn't take them all weekend. and today, i switched bags that i take to work and was so tired from my major bout of insomnia last nite that i left my meds on my counter at home. 4 days without. man this is a fun day.

anyway hope everyone is doing well.
  • I take my meds to work too.....I line up the bottles in front of my computer monitor so I don't forget them...(taking one right now, thanks for reminding me). Can you put them in a place where you will see them? or leave a small stash at work?

At home, my meds & vitamins sit right next to the coffee maker...I line them up in a row so i don't forget, after I take them, each one goes back to the cupboard...sometimes I miss one or 2 because the cat bats them off the counter and I find them when I'm washing the floor.....
  • Cathy – Thank you so much for updating us on CIN. I will definitely keep her in my prayers!

Nefarious – Hi! Welcome back! I still have slips with my diet, it’s okie, just get back on track and try again Baby Steps!

Marble – about meds, not sure I can answer you about having them out in front of you at work… but I do things to remind myself as well… like I set my cell phoneto alert me every night to take them before bed, and I have a reminder program that flashes a message to remind me to take them as well. I even have James there to remind me to take my meds

I’m late for class everyone… Hope everyone is doing well!

  • Hi, I'm new to this site and the forum. Just back to trying to lose weight after two years of post-breakup depression and self-indulgence. Now I'm trying to remember that the best revenge is living well, and part of that is recovering my health.

Nefarious: Instead of carrying around multiple pill bottles, I use those plastic day-of-the week pill cases from the drugstore. They come in various sizes, including enormous. I usually make up 3 weeks worth of daily doses of meds and supplements at a time, and I keep an extra smaller container in my bag in case I forget or drop something essential in the sink. This way I can keep all the pill bottles in a ziploc in a drawer, and just leave this week's cases (AM and PM) on my bedside table.

  • Hi Carla WELCOME! I completely agree with you about the best revenge is living well... sort of like a "how do you like me now?" sort of thing but most importantly, for yourself and being healthy.

    Take care...

  • I found out today that the university pool is open to students during the afternoon. So I’m going to spend my time between classes (1-4) and maybe put in some laps at the campus with a friend of mine who goes to the gym with me. I’m looking forward to this. I hope I don’t become a lobster tho!

    Take care everyone!
