Default depression from the release of stress hormones stored in body fat ?

Hi,
I got a work related burnout with depression last spring & I put on 3 kgs in that period. Since last summer my weight has gone further up & then down again, and I am now reaching those 3 kgs.
I do not take medication, but I do about 5 hours cardio per week to make the hormones to lift the depression somewhat.
I am with a gestalt therapist. I do not feel that the therapy is working. The therapist thinks this burnout can last another 1 -1.5 year, and this thought is also very depressing to me.
What I notice is that I am getting more depressed lately, and I wonder if this can be caused by the release of the hormones as I burn the fat that was laid down in the depressive period?
Does anyone know anything about this?
