Wednesday Chat - July 14th
Good Morning Ladies :D
SueMarie, wonderful pictures on yesterday's post. Boy you can really see the difference... you go girl !! Nothing much doing here SOSDD. I'm so tired b/c DD has got me up alot during the night, she doesn't want to sleep alone and so I crawl in bed with her (single bed might I add) so I'm all crampted up in it and can't move, so I sleep like do do. I made it back to my bed at 3 am this morning and then the alarm went off at 4:45 am.........can you say DRAGGING RUMP!!!! I told DH that we need to get a double bed in her room so I can sleep the night b/c I really don't want her to get used to my bed, I'd rather go lay down w/her in her room if I can help it. At least one of us (DH) will get some sleep lol. I'm hungry !!!! ;) Coffee and tky bacon here I come ....zooom. :coffee: :hun: |
Ohhh Cathy, I read that report that you read about having 200 calories LESS, does that mean you have to eat 800 - 1000 to lose ???????????????

Gonna dash out and walk because it looks like rain.............. Meeting my daughter for lunch and taking the crew ( all 4 grandchildren) to McDonalds for lunch! Need to have my grandchildren "fix". She lives 15 miles away so I thought I would go see them today! Along the less calories topic of conversation..........I read that ...............people over 50 need about 500 calories less daily to maintain ..in other words women cannot eat the same amt they once did JUST to stay the same.......that is why we hear :" I eat the same and something has happened" from many women & men in their 50's. It is a hard pill to swallow that we need less just to stay the same....but that is where EXERCISE comes in and ACCEPTANCE that as we age we must make better choices and accept these changes in our lives! We can WIN the battle too! All in how you look at it! I take thyroid meds and never heard the 200 cal thing.................but it may be true..................I just know you have to burn more than you take in to lose................. I am DOG TIRED this morning. I did not get to sleep until 3:30. (Leen you and I were keeping the same hours last night). I went to bed AGGRAVATED and just could not quit thinking and worrying, and then it just snowballed into everything. Me and my youngest son (16) had a "discussion" when he got in last night. He is just at that age where he doesn't think that me and his dad are all that bright and he doesn't think he should have to follow any rules or let us know what he is doing, or that he will be late, etc. and I could just ring his neck that he has a teenagers brain that doesn't function well enough to understand where we are coming from. I know it is just normal teenage stuff but I don't like being last on his list when I use to be the TOP DOG! ;) One of my favorite scriptures says "this too shall pass". Leenie - did Grace Ann just move into a big bed? man I remember those days. hope you get some sleep tonight girlie! and Leenie about that report I copied onto yesterday's thread that said someone who has a low thyroid needs about 200 caloires less than the average person - well I'm not sure what that means really, but I would guess that if I was told that I needed to eat 1200 calories a day to lose weight, that would mean I really needed to eat about 1000. what confuses me tho is that everyone says not to eat less than 1200 calories a day or you will go into "starvation mode". It's all so confusing LOL but I was glad to finally read a number - I have always wondered about that number. Cin - wow! so lets see, when I turn 50, I'm gonna need 500 calories less a day, plus the 200 less for having a low thyroid - hmmmmmmm that means I will get to eat about 500 calories a day just to maintain my weight! :cry: oh vey! LOL I hope you have a great time with your grandkids! SueMarie - I posted a message on yesterday's thread about your before and after pics. Be sure to read it girlie. ok - how about some great news - I'm so tired I can barely jump up and down but I'm doing it on the inside ;) I cannot believe this but I have lost 4 lbs since Thursday 7/8 when I started the phentermine. With everything I have been doing, exercise, 1200 calories & drinking water water water, my scale has not been down to 205 since January or February. I know its probably just water weight, but I don't care, I am so THRILLED to see my scale move downward. I was beginning to think it was impossible. and I know it is only 4 lbs but that is huge for me! I haven't been able to exercise the past 3 days, so that might have something to do with it, and I know the phentermine speeds me up a little, which probably helps me burn more calories, and I'm really not hungry so I've only been eating 1000 calories rather than 1200. maybe 1000 calories a day is the magic number for me to lose a few lbs??? anyway, I'm thrilled about the 4 lbs. so how is everybody else doing today? wonder if anybody would notice if I took a nap? :rofl: later gaters, cathy |

so sorry to hear about the problems with the internet at work. that stinks! I would be so upset if I wasn't able to play on the internet while I was at work, but my boss doesn't have a problem with it, bec there is time for me to do that. congrats on making it to Curves! :cheer: Let me know which Leslie Sansone walking tapes you get and how you like them! Honestly girlie - I can't picture me taking a nap either - hopefully I'll just get some sleep tonight. ;) hugs, cathy |

Love you all , thanks everyone for all the wonderful things everyone said. It made me feel so welcome. I forget sometime kindness you all have and give. Today is an ok day. Have a friend in the hospital when visiteding. Her to lunch give her some time to let go of some of the pain. Her husband just had a heartatack. He had bypass and is doing wonderful be going home soon. She is an amazing lady and show it through all of this. Make me know that what i am going through with my husband is going to be ok. Food is going ok. That is something i work at really hard keeps my mind off a lot of things :) Love flower |

Leenie - I was trying to find the same shirt I was wearing in the first picture but I have no idea where it went :lol: I think Cathy is right, it looks like I lost more than 25lbs. I wonder if this new shirt is giving a different illusion or something? I’m a little pooped out today as well, but I got my mile in. I went over to the campus and did a lot of running around between offices to get VA papers in, see my advisor, goto the PALS department to talk about my concentration. So it wasn’t all at one time, but I got the mile in LOL. But I know the “DRAGGING RUMP” although I’m not feeling as sore as I would have expected. BTW What does SOSDD mean? :o Cathyxxx – Teenage stuff… boy, I can’t wait for those years… Brit’s gonna be 12 in September and I’ve already seen the “Make-Up is gross” stage go into the “Oh where’s my lotion – where’s my chapstick – how’s my hair” stage :lol: Congrat on the 4lbs… maybe it’s just to do a shift in your calorie intake. I know for me once I loose a little more I’ll go down to 1800 and just slowly move down. I think my goal is to stay around 1400-1600 if that works for me, but won’t know til I get there. Oh and about the pictures… OH YEAH! :lol: I’ve already started a scrapbook page for it, but I think I like the idea of posting it on my fridge too… That is if I can find where the door is. I have some much junk posted on there… all my recipes LOL I’ll have to start cleaning it off and putting my recipes on harddrive. Oh I also wanted to tell you that I’m working on 20 miles this month…I figured one mile a day would be a good start, but since I haven’t done that much walking (as far as exercising goes) I would start off small and then work my way up the scale :) Sheila – If you don’t use the net to much for anything other than reading and posting, Juno has a free account, but you get this dorky little banner that stays on your desktop. I use it for when my DSL goes down. Which in the last two days has been UP and DOWN lol so I’ve used it a bit. You get like 10 hours a month free. It’s better than nothing especially if you don’t use the net that much. You have to sign up and download their dialer program. They also have high speed dial up too.. but I just use the free net access for the dsl down times. Sheila, Yes that's it. That's what I did when I was at 24 hour Fitness. They would take your measurments once a month if you asked them to. They did the first one as part of your hmmm sign on package lol. But yeah I want to be able to find one where I can download and print out and fill in for myself at home. I was teasing you too ;) I must have had to much sugar or something, but the emotions are just over flowing to today as well. It's just been a good week really. Now wait til school starts! Then you'll see stress and anxiety LOL

Cathy, good luck w/your son, teen years are SOOO hard. But then it does get better (we hope lol) Congratulation on losing 4 LBS !! hey I'll take it any way I can get it too. Nothing is better than seeing that scale move down. (well almost).
Sheila, whooohooo !! a new / old boy toy ROFL !! you go girl. That sucks that your job is monitoring your internet use. They do that here too and can crack down at any given time... it would suck if they did. I don't really go on the net to much at night either, every once in a while. Flower hugs to your friend, hope her hubby gets well soon. Keep up the good work will yah, your a great inspiration ;) Cin, so your telling me I got 10 more years b/f I have to eat absouletly NOTHING!!! ROFL oy vey.
