hmmm if I said 1200, I didn't mean to, but I can't recall where I said it. Which is probably why I was confused as to who you were talking to. Before I started dieting, I figured I was taking in 2500-3000 calories easily. I cut back to 2000-2200 and then I am now at 1600-1800. Which I think I will stay at for a while since I feel that I can maintain the intake without getting hungry. I've been doing the dipping, zigzap, or whatever method people call it. Where I take in like 1700-1800 a day or two (usually the weekends) and the rest of the days I stay around 1500-1600. I've been doing pretty good about that.
I don't really keep track of the carbs to much... just the calories. I used to lift weights lightly in high school when I played softball. Unfortunately after I injured my back during one of the summer city leagues I never went back to lifting because I was afraid of re-injuring myself. I was out of commission for almost 3 months. :( I used to be a member at 24 hour fitness and did some more light lifting and cycling. I wanna strengthen my back. I know that at 360-some odd pounds I'm gonna have the flap syndrome. Since you lift weights, I been thinking about lifting again. Course James wants to lift as well... I just wanna strenthen my back up so that I don't have to many problems with it again. What do you suggest for a beginner. As mentioned before, I have lifted weights before in high school (13 years ago), approx a year and I had a membership to 24 hour fitness (2 years ago) where I lifted lightly for about 6 months. I've been looking at purchasing a treadmill, but thought I'd get more productivity from a home gym. I wanna tone as much as I can without resorting to plastic surgery to remove excess... of course I have to get to that point first LOL... Thanks a bunch! Sue... * EDITED * I got that info from April Chicks in the Support Forum. I would like to quote what you said and post in that forum so that those who have read that calori cycling method can read your info as well... :) I posted it here Calorie Cycling Quote Hopfully I linked it correctly *grins* I had James read your post as well and he understands it and thinks it's a good idea to do the cycling. However :o he says I should stagger my cycling more evenly through out the week instead of just the weekends... hehehehe so I'll work on staggering it more evenly. |
sue marie... from someone who is planning the plastic surgery to remove about 20 pounds of excess skin... having bat wings isn't the worst thing in the world. it just makes buying clothes harder.
you're young yet [not like me - an old bat!!!!] so the chances of your skin springing back are much MUCH better than mine are. do the exercise gig. lose the weight. make sure you get enough calcium. and take it one day at a time. |
JiffyPop - Well that gives me some hope. I thought once I hit 25 and got my big insurance break it was all down hill from there, at least my body has something left in it. Definately will work on the toning. I'll have to invest in a good toning work out video. Thanks for the spark of hope! *huggerz* I also want to commend you on your weight loss to! I hope I can get down to even below 300lbs. But like you said, one day at a time.
I had a good night, we bbq’d and I ate a lot :o but we all went bowling to work some of it off hehehehe… I figured bowling was more fun than walking for 20 minutes. We did about two hours worth of bowling. AND the good thing is, I think I figured out my new ball and how to work it LOL :) so when league comes on Monday I can kick some butt! Okie well, I can dream… we are second to last place *grin* but at least the kid and her friend are having fun hehehe… Good Night Ladies! Sue… :moo: |
WOW what great information, Thanks Everyone.
Kem, my brother had to walk me down the isle too, and you know I was as calm as anything until I was 1/2 way down the isle when it hit me how much I wanted my dad, from there on I cried like a baby, everyone had to wait for me to settle down, guess they all thought it was b/c I was nervous  it was b/c of my dad :( I can relate. HUGS !! |
Is this the right place for me???
I just joined 3FC. I am looking for some support for getting back on the weight loss track. I have had some really emotional times over the last 11 months-Since my son was born-and my weight has really jumped up. I am very scared to jump on the scales because I am afraid of the number. I am trying to get a better handle on things and thought this would be a good first start. I have come to realize that I am depressed. I live in a town that I don't have a talking buddy. I need a place to spill my guts about what has happened and move on :^:
Can you please advise me if I have found the right forum? I feel I really need some help or the Dr will be my next step. |
Arenee, you are in the right place. The ladies here can give you adivce on what they have been doing, and some ideas to look into. This whole website is a wealth of information. Just remember, anything they say shouldn't be taken as medical advice. Always get a doctors opinion before dieting especially if you have a medical condition.
WELCOME ARENEE! This is a wonderful place full of wonderful supportive people. I am sure you will love it here! Sue... |
