I've lost 8 pounds by getting off Abilfy!!
 

So I used to be 110lbs.... Then I was put on Abilify and got up to 242lbs. Well I have bipolar 2 and whenever I got depressed the fact I'm obese made me it worse. It got to a point where I was contemplating suicide. I couldn't lose weight even though it was starting to effect my health... So I talked to my psychiatrist about how this side effect of my Abilify medication was having a major and dangerous impact on my life. She took me like off it and put me on the seizure medication Trileptal in its place-which by the way has been doing an even better job of keeping me from being manic/hypo than the Abilify ever did. And now I've lost a total of 8 pounds!!! :D 6 of which without dieting!!! Literally 6 pounds just disappeared all on their own!!!

I thought I would share this with you all. They say Abilify is not a cause of weight gain like other antipsychotic. I'm proof that that is absolutely untrue.
