Oh, in that case, I should add that I eat kimchi every day.

Fermented cabbage.

Does great things to my body.

But gives me bad gas and the sh!ts.

But a price worth paying for a productive gut flora.

Fermented foods that have been pasteurized have none of the essential bacterial that repopulate our guts. If you buy your kimchi in a store sitting on the shelf with other canned goods it's been pasteurized. It will be clearly marked if it isn't pasteurized and will be kept in the refrigerator case.

Unless you know an old Korean family who has crocks buried in the backyard :D

BTW, it's super easy to do your own ferments at home, you just need the right crock and a little patience.
