ssri's 5htp and weight loss
 

hi ok wondering if anyone has actually taken 5htp and gained weight from it?

i keep reading how its suppossed to make you or help you lose weight and help with depression

my story real quick..i have alot of emotional/mental issues..pstd, depression, panic, anxiety..off and on agoraphobia..ect

so living totally med free has just never been a option for me..

i tried prozac, zoloft, and was on paxil for 2 years..the paxil put 30lbs on me..which i just now got off and been off paxil for almost a year..urggh..lol but anyways..then i tried wellbutrin..sent me through the roof..i had finally found lexapro which i liked but then i lost my insurance and could not afford any meds again
so out of desperation i tried 5htp..i love the stuff .doing great for my depression atleast..
so ok i am happy now..

but i swear ..the 5htp dosnt seem to put weight on me like paxil did..but i still aint loosing weight like i used too before getting on anything at all ..

now 5htp messes with the same stuff in your head as ssri drugs

but yet i seem to be the only person in the world online anyways ..lol not loosing weight on 5htp.

i was just wondering if anyone else at all felt they had a slower weight loss while on it..if there could be any connection..

its hard to find good info about a herb that isnt controlled by the herb store itsself..so all that everyone looses on 5thp could just be herb sellers making it up for all i know..lol

HI there! I don't know much about that particular medication and quite frankly I find the whole thing quite overwhelming. There is so much info out there......real over load..........sorry I can't be of more help!
