Ahhh Stress Eating!

So I have been really good for the past 6 days. Well today was a really busy day for me. I was up at 4:30am, went to school at 7, had class until 3pm, drove home to drop off my SO and then straight to work (was almost a few minutes late) AND I wont be done at work for another 2 hours. When I got out of class I was stressing bad about the state of my bank account and some bills that I am a little behind on. I had eaten well all day (with the exception of 2 pancake bites from DD which were apparently 100 calories PER BITE?!) but I was STARVING! So I caved and decided to hit a drive-thru for dinner. At first I was thinking McDonalds/Wendys but decided to at least try to be a little better and hit the fresco menu at Taco Bell... until I saw the Veggie Cantina Burrito... which was a whopping 740 calories (and I am afraid to look at the Sodium).

It put me over for my calories and didn't really solve my hunger (because I know it is alll stress)... I do this when I get depressed or stressed out and it's really frustrating because I have goals I really want to reach. Can any of my ladies who are battling depression or just have a lot of issues with binge eating tell me how you cope and find other ways of dealing with the hunger/stress?! I am going to try a night walk when I get off work to hopefully walk out some of this stress.. After that I may take a bath and try to go to bed early to avoid the temptation of eating more. I am getting so tired of this problem... it's holding me back! HELLPPPPP

Well. I'm a stress eater too I'm finding out on this site were more plentiful than I expected. Have you considered snacks in your vehicle or a lunch box? That way your not starving and better able to make decisions.

I find if I'm starving my brain takes a temporary vacation and quickly comes back about 15-20 minutes after the hunger binge. And then begins the guilt, a really vicious cycle and so overplayed. but I digress, hopefully your better than me.

OMG Avezy you have a long day!! I agree with Phoenix, you MUST prepare and bring snacks to take the edge off! suggestions - green/red pepper strips with maybe a little dip; 100 calories' worth of almonds or walnuts; a half sandwich made with lean deli meat or tuna salad; a cup of soup. If you can squeeze the time in for some kind of workout/exercise, that is a stress reliever even if you don't realize it.

I have also gone to bed early, to avoid the temptation of snacking!

Thank you ladies :) I had snacks and stuff with me but I cut them out of my day because of the pancake bites. I wasn't the best at behaving yesterday but I have a replica of yesterday tomorrow and I plan on kicking its butt! I did walk two miles today and cut back today to try and recover from my calorie damage yesterday. I think I may start hula hooping when I get off work instead of trying to do homework. That's just too much work on days like that.

My solution for this dilemma is to keep a bag of carrots/celery.

I always keep an apple on my bag so if i get hungry i can have something to eat.

Try drinking a glass of water and eat a fruit or vegetable, wait a few minutes and see if you feel satisfied. What I also do sometimes is get sunflower seeds, after all the work of cleaning and eating each one you feel like you just had a meal.
