Zoloft, Celexa, Effexor
 

Do any of these meds cause weight gain or make losing weight harder.... i'm scared to take the meds my doc is thinking of prescribing...

It is definitely very possible to gain weight on these meds (or for them to slow down progress, for that matter). I do not want to scare you but it's true. Every person's brain chemistry & the way their body reacts to meds varies. I went on Paxil and gained 30 lbs. Some people may go on Effexor & gain 20 lbs and then the next person may gain nothing. There is just no way of telling what will happen. Talk to your doctor about your concerns & really try to weigh (no pun intended) the options for yourself.
