Default going off Zoloft

I'm taking 50 mg Zoloft, started at 25 about 6 months ago. I want to go off of it.
My dr said to just cut it back to 25 but I've been reading that it can cuase bad side affects if cut back too quickly.

Has anyone gone off of it? If so, how?
Thanks

I have been on and off of many many anti depressants. Your doctor is telling you right. Everytime I have gone off you have to cut yourself back slowly so you won't get all the side effects. Cut back to the 25 for a week or 2 and then stop them and you should be fine. I never had any problems going on and off them and I was at 200 mg's of Zoloft. Good luck hun!
