Risperdal Consta?
 

The doctor says it doesn't really cause weight gain, but I don't know...

When I started taking it was the same time I started gaining weight in the first place.

I have a couple friends who have taken this medication, and I remember them stating that carb cravings go way up with it.

I take risperdal and it increases my appetite and cravings for carbs. I gained a lot of weight on it but it's the only thing that helps my bipolar disorder. Sucks but what can I do?

I was recently prescribed this for bipolar and some anxiety stuff (mostly OCD). I am also taking lamotrigene. I cannot explain how different I feel about food. I am not always hungry, and I don't think about food all of the time. I eat, and I notice when I am full. I never had any idea how much my psychological issues were affecting my food. It helps too that I had some hard times a few weeks ago (right before I saw a doctor for the first time) and I was literally not hungry for 2 weeks. That helped to shrink my stomach I am sure.
