Lithium- initial weight gain
Hi everybody!
I know that question is a bit shallow, bit iīll ask anyway :dizzy:: I started taking Lithium four weeks ago. I havenīt gained weight, I actually lost 1,5 kg (THANK GOD). The strange thing is that I suddenly get a lot of compliments (hey!!) and people always assume I would have lost aruond 10kg....I am down a dress size and I can wear clothes I wore when my weight was lower..... Ok, I know thatīs this is not really a problem, but I was thinking maybe my body holds back water because of the Lithium salt. Would explain the numbers on the scale... :^: Someone with the same expierences? |
I started to take Paxil and also a high blood pressure medication. I lost 35 pounds so far. Both have possibe weight loss as a side effect. Also, the anti-depressant has caused me to feel better about life so I go out and do more exersise and do not eat for mental reasons (only for hunger reasons). I think that the anti-depressent is helping me more than any "diet pill."
I don't know a lot about water, but improper water storage can really put on weight. You're body is 95% water, so is that additional weight, so I can see water loss as being a main thing in weight loss. |
