Alright, ladies, is this turning into the Amarie thread? Where is everyone?

I just wanted to pop in to share some good news : First, I got an interview for on of the grad programs I applied for!! :yay: Second, my dog Cleo's biopsy came back... it was benign! Surprised the heck out of my Vet. We were both sure it was a melanoma. Anyway, she's old, but she's happy and thats what matters.

Did anyone see the lunar eclipse? I think they used to call that a blood moon.

:grouphug: Hope everyone is well, and that I'm not just talking to myself....

Newbie

I was tiny in high school, went to college and ballooned... I have a lot of goals, but a hard time figuring out how I can reach all of them and not drive myself crazy in the process... I am manic depressive, have serious self-confidence issues and am really hoping that 3FC can pick me up when I fall down while trying to lose some much needed pounds. I was once very athletic, and now have a hard time just working out due to added weight, smoking, and severe patella tendonitis. I'm working really hard to overcome these issues, but could use any advice or suggestions anyone is willing to give. Thank you and I hope to be reporting successes soon!

Wowee, there's some really touching posts here this week. You Ladies are amazing.

Amarie I'm so glad your pup is doing well and its not cancer :)

:welcome: Kim, glad to have you with us.

Hope you nailed it girl... it is easier when people don't expect anything from us...and its easier when we don't expect to much from ourselves. But either way is not good :(

Sassy how are ya girlie?

Heather...have a good time...see you when you get back.

We are having some heavy heavy snow and lots of it. Stayed home today b/c daycare is closed.

Here's a picture of my Old Girl (13+) in the snow. She played a bit and decided she needed a nap under a tree. This dog LOVES the cold weather. She really is my little girl :D

:welcome2: Kim! Nice to meet you :D; My advice - come here often to post! Its really helped me to have the support of the fabulous ladies on here. I look forward to getting to know you!

Leenie - Ohhhhhh.... Your baby is so cute. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the kind words on Cleo :D

Heather - have a blast! See you next week.

I'm going to try to get my head back on straight this weekend, and maybe relax a little, try to put my stress in perspective. To that end, I'm not sure I'll have take my computer home, so if I don't see you all until next week, know that I will be sending happy thoughts your way!

:grouphug: Everyone!

purplepansy912 02-22-2008 06:15 PM

ok I'm venting, I might sound negative but I'm in a moment
I fell two weeks ago down my stairs and broke two toes on my right foot, I'm in pain despite the pills and working is very hard since i'm on my feet and exercising now is out of the question. I also hurt my back, and every now and then it gives me trouble.
I joined Jenny Craig and I'm eating the food enjoying it, but i'm also craving sweets, it isn't TOM.. I think it is the LEXAPRO I'm taking. I know I have to take it and it works, I'm just in a funk....
I live in the north east and we are plumetted with tons of snow... I slept most of the day, a cycle I have when I'm depressed...
Just venting...

purplepansy912 02-22-2008 06:22 PM

Leenie your dog is beautful!! I have two dogs, a siberian husky and an alaskian malamute, they love the snow!!

KimL1214 02-22-2008 10:04 PM

Rough night

First I want to thank everyone who welcomed me! Makes me feel really good!
I had a bit of a rough night last night because of a pretty good sized fight with my boyfriend. That set me off the deep end... wanting to eat everything and anything I could get near, smell or see. I ended up just going to sleep, feeling really upset with myself, which carried into this morning. One uplifter was that today was the last day of school before Winter break, but that's also a problem as well. Instead of working all day I'll be home around food... hmmmmm :dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz::dz:

I don't have a computer at home, so I'll probably write a lot whenever I'm near a computer...

Hi Gurls

Hi Girls.

Here I am. I just haven't felt up to posting..........Work was busy this week and I am just glad to have time off again! lol. We got all that nasty snow and ice here. Then on Monday its supposed to be 45? I think Mother Nature is totally hormonal. lol.

Nothing much going on here. I splurged yesterday for one meal w/ DH since Thursdays are our only day off together. Then I got right back op. ;) I still have not exercised.........I know bad Sassy. lol. Just can't get the energy up to do it!! lol.

:welcome2: Kim!!

Leenie I agree, your dog is beautiful, DH & I both used to have dogs that loved the snow too........:) Infact your dog looks a lot like DH's old dog, only she had some black on her back. She was the sweetest dog........

Very Weird. I just now got online and signed into messenger, DH messages me saying "finally. r u ok?" I am like, yeah. He has been trying to call me for several hrs. So I look at my phone, sure enough I have 4 VM's from DH. I checked my phone as soon as I got up about 6:30 or so. After DH IM'd me and I checked my phone, I noticed little Zzz's by my ringer. It was on silent mode!! I do not know how that happened because on my phone, to change the ringer, you have to hit not one button, but two on the side of the phone at different times and when you hit the one, it makes a noise, so I would have heard it if I had accidentally hit it. Also I've had this phone for at least a year now and this has never happened before and I keep my phone in my purse when I go out and I put it in my pocket when I am walking around the house, then I take it out, so if it was going to happen, it would have happened before and it never has. Very strange. But DH was flipping out cuz he couldn't get a hold of me. He said he was almost ready to drive home to check on me. lol.

He said the roads are horrible, all ice. One county that is close to ours is on Level 3, which means the city is shut down, only emergency vehicles are allowed. I told DH if work offers hotel rooms, take one. No since in him being out in that if he doesn't have to be.

Big  take care out there everybody!!!

whitlockdj 02-22-2008 10:54 PM

im new to the group ladies hey!

hope4me 02-23-2008 12:22 AM

Hi everybody!

Leenie: Good to see you! I miss seeing you daily. What an awesome pooch! She is so beautiful... and so is the snow. I am so jealous. I just want one good snow. That's not too much to ask is it?

Amarie: Sorry to abandon you for a day or two, I just got really busy and was too tired late at night to respond. Good news that it wasn't cancer for Cleo. When is your interview for school?

Sassy: Way to go staying OP. :carrot: Glad you are making the changes you wanted to make.

Whitlockdj: :wel3fc: This is a wonderful group. Tell us about yourself, we would love to get to know you.

Kim: Yeah, please post often. I too gained most of my weight starting in college and of course have a depression problem. It's really a battle not to eat when you're stressed. I hope you and your BF have made up. Good luck staying OP while you are home. I've been out of work for a year and it's so hard not to munch all day long.

Purple: Feel free to vent. That's what we do here. :D I get in funks where I sleep all the time just to escape. I hope it lifts soon for you. I had a friend who went on a certain medication that made her crave sweets, but I can't remember which one it was. She never cared for them before, but even though she switched medicine she has liked them ever since. I hope your poor toes heal soon!

hope4me 02-23-2008 12:50 AM

Continuing...

I thought I was getting long winded so I thought I'd break it up...

Last night I went to Washington DC to see 'The Spice Girls' concert. (I know, how old am I?) We actually had a blast! It was just silly, fun, pop music and I think I really needed some fun if you know what I mean. I went with a friend of mine who's always a lot of fun and we had nice seafood dinner up there before it started. He's cutting down also so we split a shrimp cocktail, had a cup each of Maryland crap soup, and split the blackened mahi-mahi. :cofdate: Not too bad, ya think?

I found out some good news this week. I thought my license was going to expire on March 3rd, but turns out I have another year! What a relief!

I also met with a couple of people about an at home opportunity to do financial services and insurance. I need to check it out further before I make a decision. It sounds good because I could work at my own pace and work a regular job at the same time if I wanted to. I'm just not sure I can go back into this field (in the sales aspect) and handle the stress. :stress: It provides all the perks I want (unlimited income and the freedom to set your own schedule), but I'm afraid it takes somebody who isn't depressed and who generally feels normal and good about themselves. I'm not even close to normal! :D I'm not putting myself down, just being realistic.

Anybody else on here signed up for Oprah's book club class on the book 'A New Earth'? It's free and about finding your life's purpose. I think it's pretty relevent to the predicament I'm in right now! I haven't started reading it yet.

Buddly, Cathy, and the rest of you MIA's... How are you all doing? We miss you!

Sassy_Chick 02-23-2008 05:04 AM

Hi

Hello...........

Well I did it! I exercised!! :carrot: To some CRAZY woman, who concentrates on Abs -- which I desperately need, not just for looks, but to help with my back problems. This lady is freaking crazy, you should have seen me and what I was doing!! She has you on all fours on the floor and take one arm and hold it in front of you and the opposite leg out and then bring them in. I was like "WHAT?" I did it but I know my cat was looking at me like, "What the he** is she doing?" lol. I couldn't do it all but I did most of it. Felt better afterwards.

On our cable we have these Exercise on Demands, where you can watch Exercise programs and pause and stop and rewind just like a video or dvd and they are all free (with our cable service) so there are lots to choose from. I may try a cardio tomorrow!!!

:woohoo: Go ME!!! :carrot:

Did you ever wonder why nasty mean people's lives are so easy and why good decent people have to struggle? Just was thinking about it and it is true. Good hard working people get crap and the nasty mean people get everything they want. Just irks me.

Anywho............

Just some thoughts.....

Leenie 02-23-2008 07:40 AM

Good Morning,

Wow, its great to see everyone

Amarie, when is your interview? You just take care of what ever you need to and we'll see you next week. Enjoy your me time.

Whitlockdj :welcome:

Kim I know being home can set you off when it comes to food... it sure does for me. Good luck !!! but mostly enjoy your time off. Sorry you had a run in with your BF.

Purple good to see you. Yikes, sorry you fell, that realllly had to hurt. Good thing you didn't do more damage..my stars. Be careful with your back. So you like Jenny Craig....thats good to hear. My friend went on nutrasystem not long ago and the food looks the same as it did over 10 years ago.... dog food BARK! ewwww. She stopped like 2 months later. We got alot of snow too in north NJ, this morning the roads are icy  just what we need eh.

Hope glad you enjoyed the concert, it does sound like fun. I didn't know the spice girls were doing concerts anymore...are they all the originals? I think you should give the sales a try....you never know what could come out of it and you might surprise yourself. I say give it a try. I saw that book mentioned on Oprah the other day, sounds interesting..... let us know how it is.

Sassy, good to see you in such good spirits and exercising to boot...hey girl your on your way. GOOD FOR YOU !!!!!! Yes I've wondered why mean people benefit more... but you know, there has got to be more to it than we see. All I know is I can put my head down at night and sleep in peace.....wonder if they can do the same...they prob can lol.

Heather, hope your weekend was wonderful !!

Roads are icy.... so we're not sure if we'll do karate today. My niece is staying over tonight so I'll be busy with the girls lol.

Have a great day everyone. Remember....you are special
