Good Morning,

Boy what a soggy morning, this nor easter has really done some damage here in the NJ / NY area. NJ is under a state of emergency OY. My DH's shop is at least 4 feet under water and its not even over with. Took me 2 hours to get to work today b/c of all the flooded streets and lots of folks called in b/c their basements are under water... uhhh. Hope you all are doing okay.

wow Leenie - the weather sounds awful up there! y'all be careful and stay safe! It is 40 degrees and beautiful here today. why don't ya fly on down and spend the day with me ;-)

we've been busy - just way too busy. I haven't walked (for exercise) since the time change and I'm draggin big time. I gotta figure something out. I may just have to start walking during my lunch hour again, but I haven't been taking a lunch hour *sigh* but I gotta make some time for myself. It's just been one thing after the other around here.

wow leenie,I am up in canada and we didnt get it that bad.lol you poor girl,
I work at the hospital so I have to go to work.But even some of our Nurses couldnt get through the weather this morning.we are just starting to deal with the water part of the storm now,the heavey snow has turned into rain so all the snow plus the rain=trouble.

Hi debbie, we had rain turn to snow today, but not much, just enough to cover everything and make everything a big mess.

Well its been a long monday! and I even got a nap in (I was folding laundry on the bed and put my head down :o oops!) Saturday went really well. We drove to the shop and dropped the van off. They got done a lot sooner than they said. When we went to pick it up, the guy asked if we had recently had any fuel work done, we said that yes we had the fuel filter changed four weeks ago, so he asked where it was done, when we told him that they did it, he then told us it was no charge. I guess they didn't put a clamp back on or it broke or something, I don't know I'm just pleased it was something so simple and didn't cost us a fortune. Anyway other than that nothings new. I did get a little bit of a walk in while waiting for C in judo, as for eating, well I don't know, I think I did alright, I do know I could have done a lot worse!

Things are okay here, DH's shop got 4 feet of water... we are okay nonetheless. Rain stopped yesterday but we are going to get some showers here and there w/in the next couple of days.

Howdy Girls!

Yes FIL is home! DH called him today and he is feeling better and so is my MIL! :D On a downside, now my hubby is feeling under the weather and FIL thinks it could be the beginning of whatever he had. (they never did figure out what it was he had, but they did say it was viral so now we all could get it!) So I am having DH call the dr. in the morning, just to be safe!

Well nice weather has come back to visit with us. For how long? Who knows! But my back isn't killing me like it has been! :D

Have any of you ever heard of a nervous stomach? I think that is what I have and I think I "inherited" it from my dear sweet mother. :rolleyes: It seems whenever we are stressed, we can't eat anything without feeling nauseous. Where as I could stand to lose some weight, for sure and it did happen to me in HS, I ended up losing 50 pds. because I just could not eat much at all. But after the stress was over with, yup you guessed it, weight came back + some. :p

So I may schedule an appt. w/ the dr. too. I swear I need a "stomach transplant" and I would like one of those tiny skinny model's stomach's please! lol.

Anywho, I need to clean, but guess what: I don't wanna! :p

Hi all - I'll admit I am laying low... this gray, nasty, un-spring-like weather has knocked me back. I am still eating well, and DRAGGED my butt out of the house yesterday for my 2.5K walk, but it was a hard slog.

I moved from England to GET AWAY from this weather!! Okay, we're not flooding here, and my thoughts are with everyone on the East Coast, but sheesh! Roll On Spring, already!!! These past few days just make me want to hide under the computer desk and cry. I feel tired (and get plenty of sleep), miserable (although things are going well) and bloated and unattractive... well, I guess those last two are just side-effects of everything else.

Ohh, what a moan. That's twice this morning now - I think I'll cut it out and check back in later when I feel better about the world!

Leenie - hope your DH's shop is clearing without too much damage!

Buddly - glad things worked out!

Sassy - wonderful news about your FIL - what a relief! Let us know what the doc has to say about your 'nervous stomach'...

Hi all. Sorry I've been so slack this week. My fiance has been home with me a lot and we've done some running around so I haven't visited. I was also last minute with my taxes yesterday. You would think with all this time on my hands they would have been done months ago. Again, depression and no motivation won that battle.

I've also been pre-occupied with the VA Tech tragedy. That was where I got my B.S. in psychology (go figure). The first shooting was in my dorm where I stayed my freshman year. Very upsetting and tragic.:(

Don't know if I mentioned b4 but my dog also had pneumonia and now is seeming much better since we are treating that also. She has her next checkup Friday am. >$700 later..... She is worth it for sure but really didn't need this expense being out of work.

Hope all of you dealing with the weather problems are doing O.K. It's been VERY windy here in VA. It will actually blow the poor dog (only 6 lbs) across the patio.

Sassy: glad the family is doing better.

Ok gals ,remember I said that after all the snow rain would come and then trouble....well I didnt mean to me but it did.The city sewers backed up and like leenies DH,my basement flooded.not as much but about 6inches everywhere of raw sewage!!!!!

well the first thing my dog does is jump right in,look mom we have an indoor pool.you know how dogs are when they get water on them she was running and rolling all over the house and plopped her wet *** on my bed. now remember this is the dog that doesnt like the rain.So insurance cleaners have been here ripping carpet out and cutting out drywall in the rec room,They have to use some special kind of sanitizer after and it has to dry for a week.I have half my stuff in the garage for the insurance people to see half out in the driveway.It looks like fred sanfords junk yard.In the end we will have new carpet fresh paint new furniture.I wanted to remodel anyway but without this crap (teehee)
I am glad everyone elses luck seems to be turning around

Hi ladies. Looks like everybody is busy today. Not much chatter to read. I need some support in getting back on the wagon. My birthday is Sunday and there will be a frenzy of eating till then. My friend is taking me out Friday, got a wedding reception on Sat night, reservations on Sunday, and a possible night out next week with other friends. If you are on track, these situations can usually be handled with minimal damage. When you are way off, and I am, you know it will be ugly and you may not even care. Next week I really need to re-commit in a big way. Anybody else in this boat? We don't always focus on weight here, which can be nice, so not sure how the rest of your weight loss efforts are coming.

Hope,my ticker hasnt moved in the last couple of weeks,because my weight went up a few pounds I weigh in again tomorrow,I always get anxious before a weigh in.I have been good all week ,only because I havnt had time lol.If my weight is up again this week I will have a melt down.We went for my moms b-day for greek food last weekend and It is all about choices.Stay strong try drinking lots of water or something keep it full with you at all times.I find it helps me anyway.I havnt drank my water this week though My plan states 32oz per day,my losses have been slower than most people and I think it has to do with the water intake,meaning I dont drink enough.

hey Debbie: How was the weigh-in? Hope it was good. It should have been since you were good last week. I must start again next week after this I proceed to over-enjoy this weekend of over-eating. It all starts tonight!

My pooch got a good report at the vet today. Pneumonia is clearing out of her lungs and she is acting like her old self.

I really wanted to wear VA Tech colors today but I was so much smaller when I went there I don't have anything that fits. My wardrobe now consists of black, black, and black. I have actually done an entire load of my clothes that I wore for the week and they have all been black. I would like to wear something else but I don't know of another color that's darker.:lol:

Miss hearing from all you other folks who apparently have more of a life that I do right now.;)

Debbie, how was your weigh in?

Cloudy here, but the snow is still melting, can see more ground every day. C (dd15) has a judo tournament in town tomorrow, so we have to get up early as her weigh in is between 7 and 8 am. We have to check it tonight though as she was half a pound over her weight class. The good news is that after she weighs in she can have a decent breakfast as her category doesn't start fighting until noon. Other than that all we are doing is mopping up muddy paw prints. We try to get Max as he comes in the door, but he still manages to leave prints everywhere. It feels like I've been eating like crazy, not so good. I have plans to meet up with a friend of mine on Monday and go for a walk, so that will be nice as we haven't been getting together to much lately.

Good Morning Ladies,

FINALLY !!! I can catch up.

Yesterday was a long day, I took my neice to the Childrens hospital in Philly PA to have surgery. We left at 3:30 am and I got home at 4:00 pm... with no sleep the night before so needless to say, this morning I feel like I have a hang over. The surgery went well but the drive there was over 2 1/2 hrs and in that insane city LOL...very scary drive. We have to go there in 2 months for another surgery and then every 6 months (she gets tumors that regrow on her vocal chords...if we don't remove them they cut off her air supply).

Don't think I'll be doing much today :lol3:

Sassy feel better hon :hug: did they check FIL for appendix and gallbladder? geeze.

Buddly good luck with the tournament and dd's 1/2 lb. I think I saw one pile of snow left here LOLOL, today its supposed to be 70 - 75 degrees whooooooot...do you think spring is here yet? lol

Hope HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW !!! My MIL's b/day is tommorow and wellllll we'll be having a party for her too :faint: I need ALOT of support too getting back on track, its been a rough few months for me and I don't even know why. My biggest problem is exercise...I so despise it :shrug: what do I do. I'm hear for ya... got any ideas how we can start again? I'm all ears.

Debbie, how's the basement? my dh had 4 feet but it was water, not sewage...my stars?? eeew. Is your basement finished? I agree with you chickie...water plays a huge part in WL and thats one thing I was always good at until a few months ago when I stopped. I just have to get my arse in geer again b/c summer is almost here (not that i'll wear a bikini, but I would like to feel decent in my capri's).

Heather cutie, how did you make out on your 3k? do you walk or run and are you doing it on a treadmill or the street? I used to...ha!!! used to HAAA long long time ago... power walk 5 miles a day in under 1 hour. I had powerful legs but that was a very very long time ago. I wish I had that drive again.

Leenie - the walk was great! I went 3.3KM (so I am happy with my distance, although it felt like I'd gone farther! ... wait - I wouldn't KNOW what that felt like!! :D) I am lucky enough to have fantastic walking trails by the river and through the surrounding woods - the dog loves it... although I thought it was killing him during the walk... he was actually panting and tripping over his feet on the way home! :) Poor guy - it was a long, sedentary winter in our house for everybody!

Right - I have this crazy dinner theatre show to do (2 shows today), and then rehearsal ALL DAY tomorrow for the musical that opens in less than two weeks, so I won't get to enjoy the sunshine -you guys enjoy it for me, and I'll look forward to hearing how you all spent your weekend!!

Well FIL is back in the hospital, again. They admitted him today.
I am still feeling lousy. :p I have a drs appt. Monday, so I hope they can figure this out, I'm sick of tummy troubles. (I've had them since I was a teenager and they still cannot figure it out!)

Leenie -- Hey Chica! I am not sure if they checked his appendix or not, he doesn't have a gallbladder anymore as he had that removed years ago, so its not that. I'm glad your neice's surgery went well, I hope her next surgery goes just as well. :hug:

Heather -- Hi ya! Thanks. I can't enjoy the sunshine either! We do have some here today! Totally gorgeous, but alas, here I am at work. lol.

Debbie no its not stupid to want to see progress in numbers. 4 inches is freakin fantastic !!! thats a good way to measure success as well as the scale. Your doing great!

Leenie, it must be tough for everyone going through your neices surgerys, once is bad enough, but to have to do it repeatedly is terrible. And I'm not sure about spring, it was below freezing again this morning, it did warm up though.

Debbie, congrats on losing 4 inches, wow! thats great. I'm so bloated I haven't been able to wear my rings for a few weeks (TOM is over a month late, so everything is wonky in my system right now! I'm also avoiding the scale because of it, nothing like a two month long PMS :eek: ) I hope when you do get on the scale its a pleasant surprise.

Hi Liz, judomom and Cathy!

Well Saturday was a long day, C and I had to get into town for weigh in, thankfully she made it no problem. She just had cucumber for dinner and when she stripped down for her shower before bed, she was already at her weight. So there was no problem in the morning. She got a silver in the competion, so that was nice for her. She is still developing and progressing. Her coach figured she had a good chance to make the national team, but that scared her, so she pulled back a little. She is so strong, we just have to give her some time to see what she does with it. She sure loves comradery and being apart of that culture.
A(dd19)'s friend who was living with us has moved back to her dad's place, so today we moved the treadmill into her room, so hopefully now that I can get to it, I hope I'll use it regularly again.
Not sure what tomorrow will bring. I have so much cleaning to do and yes Heather I agree it has to burn off calaries, it sure can work up a sweat especially that floor washing!!
Anyway I'm off to make some sandwiches for hubby, he has to get up at 4am to go to work this will give him something to snack on.
