All About Me

I am a stay at home mom to a beautiful little girl who will be 1 on January 12, 2007. I gained about 40 pounds with her (went from 207 to 247 the day I had her). I lost most of it and went from 247 to about 220. However, since then, I’ve gained it all back. I’m getting married next summer and I want to be skinny for once in my life. I’ve had a weight problem since I was about 12. I weighed about 150 lbs when I was in high school and by the time I graduated, I was almost 200. I went through high school listening to kids making cruel comments behind my back and I want to change the way I look and feel about myself. Because of my weight, I have self esteem issues and I want to show my daughter that you can feel good about yourself without being a stick thin woman.
My fiancée accepts me the way I am and doesn’t care. But I know how I feel on the inside and I know how my health is being affected. I want to lose some weight before the wedding and before we start trying for another child. So I’m hoping by joining this website and working out at Curves, I can lose the excess weight and feel better about myself.
After having my daughter, I was diagnosed with Post Partum Depression and borderline bi-polar. I've had depression since I was 10 but it wasn't diagnosed until I was 19. I've been on Celexa and Zoloft but with a child, I can't be zoned out all the time.

I know it seems like a long road but the support here can help. Everyone is so friendly and each story is different.

Hi Summer,

Congratulations! Joining curves is a very smart move, good for you. Since I started exercising regularly and eating better, my depression has gotten SO much better. It really is possible to change the way you feel inside and out, I believe that. My big advice for everybody and anybody is be nice to yourself along the way!! It's super hard work, so having the support system is so important.

It sounds like you have a lovely family, best of luck to you! :)

PS What do you think about all this snow lol? :snowglo:

Thanks you guys for the warm welcome. I'm debating on whether I should also join Weight Watchers but I can't afford the montly fee for it. So..I'm not sure what I will do.
