crock pot apple butter
Love making it in the crockpot there is no splashing.
my crockpot takes about 18 apples (I used Ida Red) cored but not peeled 4 tablespoons cinnamon cook on low over night, then using your immersion blender, blend and taste, if not sweet enough add sweetner of your choice (I used 1/4 cup agave nectar). Now with the lid off and crockpot on high cook for as long as it takes to make a thick apple butter (it takes me about five hours), you should see the bottom of the crockpot when you draw your wooden spoon thru. I keep it in a empty two kilo peanut butter jar from Costco in the fridge. take care Sophie |
