I have some of the pilates disks my husband bought for me a year ago I have never tried them. Are they hard to do? Can you see a difference in your body using it?

Pilates is great, not too tough on the bones, but great on the muscles. Depending on the intensity level, you should have no problem.

Does walking around Walmart for an hour pushing a cart of groceries count as exercise? LMAO

Make sure you start with a beginners workout! But I think they are great, I don't feel like I am working out hard, but I definately feel my muscles when I am done! I wish I could do them every day!

Jasonslea: If you consider it a workout then why not? My friend considers it a workout, although that is the only walking she usually does.

I wish. No I don't consider it a workout. If it was, then I could say that I workout all the time because I'm always in Walmart!

I was there today, an hour with two kids in the shopping cart dodging really rude old ladies who think they own the store is a workout, but only of my paitience.

I know it is the 3rd of November, but is it too late to join your challenge. I have my walking posted in my WW chart and can add them in if you all don't mind. I also have a pedometer. (1st thing on in the morning and last thing off at night)
You all are full of inspiration and a girl can never have too much inspiration.

1200 minutes in 30 days

November 1-20 minutes
November 2-30 minutes treadmill
November 3-35 minutes treadmill, 4 reps of 8 times each with 10 pound weights both arms (not sure how to write that due to just started today; (LOL)

So thankful that I actually did what I said I was going to do thanks to you guys, which was walking while watching iVillage on the internet after picking up the kids from school before dinner and soccer try outs. LOL Of, course my husband missed out on his time of an hour and a half before he had to go to work. But he was grumpy any way so it gave me a reason not to listen to his non-since. LOL See, exercise is used for more than one thing. Not only to lose weight, but to clear the mind of all clutter. LOL

Default Feelings

I have to add that I am just thankful to this challenge and you for being here to inspire me to start exercising again, because I think I got into a depressed mode for a little while. I have found that I am a very sensitive person and take all words a little too seriously. Maybe I need to goto the depression forum too.

I feel so much better about myself even though it is just 35 minutes; I feel like I did something for myself for the day. Do I count the 5 minutes of cool down in the figures as well?

The lifting weights is new for me but I really enjoyed it. I still want to do the pilates disks, but this came into inspiration today. The two 10 pound dumbells sit in front of my computer keyboard. They are handy that way even if I am on the phone. i can do each arm separately and move the phone to the other hand; lol.

kwarren: ofcourse you can join this challenge! The more the merrier!!! Welcome!!
Lovealways: great job on following your plan!!! I always feel so good when I follow my plan.

I had to give myself a day off yesterday, I ran out of time between shopping, sitting at the computer and going out to dinner. Actually I had about a 20 minute workout, not what I would normally like, but it was something. But I couldn't get on my exercise bike my butt just hurt too bad!

November 4-40 minutes treadmill, some weights for the arms, and started abs and thighs with pilates (a little tough though. I couldn't finish the whole thing, because I am so out of shape. LOL I may not have the beginner pilates; maybe i'll look around at the store for a beginner one).

Happy Saturday everyone!

So motivating to see everyone exercising!

I'm very excited about this challenge. I know from previous experience that I lose pounds super slow, but exercise makes me feel so much better. So to set a goal and be accountable is a good thing!

For November, I would like to complete at least 900 minutes of vigorous and semi-vigorous exercise. It doesn't sound like much, but have recently recovered from an injury and don't want to overdo it. The plan is for at least 30 minutes a day M-F, then about 60 minutes on either Saturday or Sunday.

For strength-training, I'm doing a combo of exercises using my own body weight and dumbbells. For cardio, recently I've been biking and walking , and plan to add swimming in the near future. For flexibility-training, I like to do yoga as it aids in stress relief, too . I love all the new exercise smilies!

I look forward to following everyone's progress this month! I personally find it incredibly motivating to see what others do and read about fitness accomplishments. I will post my progress here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...4&postcount=60

SF40 do you have a gym that you go to with a heated pool and do you bike ride outside or have a stationary bike? I would love to try yoga. I think I am going to attempt belly dancing; sounds like fun.
