Hello every one!!! I have had such a busy day :dizzy: I had watched my friends childern today (all 3 boys) plus my two. I took them to a holloween block party and boy, oh boy, NEVER again will I do that without extra Help:headache: They were 5,4,and 18mths. Mine are 4 and 22mths. Forget IT!!!! But all is good now. My kids are in bed already.

Well, I did my Ulitmate BootCamp:exercise: and my legs are aching. I had a so,so day of eating the best it coul've been better. Tomorrow is a new day!!

Jasime~ I do Denise Austin' 20 min Pilates. It has two parts, Part.1 is Pilates & Part.2 is Pilates mixed with yoga. The first time I tired it, It was a bit difficult, but what workout isn't the first time. The second time I did it it got easier, and thrid, and so on. Just give it a go. It really does work. After one week I felt greet physically, and two weeks I could tell my body was getting some nice curbs.

PellMel 10-28-2006 10:05 PM

I've been doing quite well today, I must say. Yesterday I was able to get a lot of emotional crud out of my system during a massage and I think that has helped my food-issues immensely.
B: FF waffles w/ lite syrup, 1/2 c. soy milk
S: soy yogurt, banana, kashi
L: salad w/ spicy corn, cukes, carrot, black beans, few shreds of cheese, lite italian, lite mocha, diet sprite (I was thirsty:)
S: Vanilla Tofutti
D: Quinoa w/ 1/4 c. marinara and 1 tbsp. parmesan, salad
S: Mini milkshake- I put a bit less than 1/2 c. soy ice cream in a juice glass with around 1/4 c. of chocolate soy milk- yummy!

That leaves me with around 1385 calories for the day. Took a 45 minute walk through the college campus down the street, it was gorgeous, probably will stretch in a bit. Doubt I'll do lower body strengthening, I've been feeling a bit of a chest cold coming on and I don't want to aggravate it too much.

BTW Jasmine: The pb I get is no brand at all, I use the grocery store's grinder. Pure unsalted, organic peanuts, nothing else.

Hun.e.b: I love your graphic, my name is Melissa, too :)

sugarbaby269 10-29-2006 01:07 AM

Hi again everyone!! :grouphug:

I did really good yesterday on the 6 week body makeover diet. It was really hard but I was a good girl and stuck to it for most of the day. The rewards were a 3 pound loss! AF even came a knockin' yesterday so I'm hoping by the end of next week an additional amount will be gone. :cheer:
Alas, today I didn't do as well on the diet because I'm feeling a nasty cold coming on and was really sick to my stomach. I had more carbs than I was supposed to but at least I don't feel quite as bad.

Jasmine- Girl! You are so encouraging and have some really great ideas. I'm glad that I'm getting to know you even though it's through the net. :D
I was thinking that we can boost our metabolisms somehow and like you were questioning, maybe it keeps it kicking through the next week? Dunno. All this is new to me and I'm totally open for tips and suggestions. Go to the website of the six week body makeover (not sure of their website but just check on googles) and you'll find it. My hubby and I ordered it last month but just now started it. It looks pretty intense but I thought if I could just prove to myself that I can lose weight and see some quick results then I will have more confidence to continue. I feel and am so big right now it's pretty discouraging.
Congrats on making it to the teens!!! :cp: I'm going to check out those places you suggested and try to figure out the calorie/ exercise, etc to figure out how to lose and how much I will, etc. How horrifying that would be to lose a bunch of weight and still be stuck at fat! :yikes: 190 is still way overweight for my height. Thanks for the tips... ;)

Hun.e.B - I know where you're at girl... chocolate and AF unfortunately go hand in hand... I still can't drink the amount of water I'm supposed to. I'm pretty bad when it comes to drinking water. Got any tips? Sorry you have pain... me ol' joints have a hard time working out myself. The last time I tried to tackle the gym and walking all in the same day I hurt so bad I wasn't able to do much of anything. This time I'm going to go easy and take it a lot slower but still do something. :)

martiniforme- I am so sorry to hear about your scale situation!!
 I've read though in times past that you have to get on and off a new scale quite a few times to get it adjusted or something. Maybe THATS the problem... wouldn't that be great if it were? At least you've started the diet and you look like you're doing great. Best of luck to you....WE CAN DO IT! :dust:

Jelly- what is ultimate boot camp? Kudos to you for watching all the children! That should have been a workout in itself... ;)

Pellmel- what healthy choices you have. Got any good fish recipes? Or do you eat fish?

callystia 10-29-2006 01:33 AM

Not. So. Good. Today. I was terribly worried about something and had myself a nice little binge & purge.

*sigh* I'm not going to report any totals tonight because I don't even really remember everything I ate, nor do I know how much I "kept". Sorry if that's too graphic for anyone, but I'm kind of upset.

I think maybe I need to refrain from "challenges" for a while; I thought I was ready to get back to regular dieting, but I think that pressuring myself with a deadline of any sort just brings back the bad behaviors. :(

sugarbaby269 10-29-2006 01:12 AM

Awww callystia,

I'm so so sorry...
I don't like sharing this but maybe it might help... I used to be anorexic and then bulimic when I was in highschool. I'm in my late 30's now :yikes: After going to college for a couple of years I quit purging due to a personal experience that I had. I got married shortly after that and my husband has been so good to and with me. I am amazed at the GUILT that I carried for years when eating. Even for years after I never knew how to eat and dieting meant starving. Three kids later I realized that certain things triggered my desire to binge and although I never purged after that I had a lot of emotional baggage attached to my eating patterns. My husband was a gem. He showed me that it's not what you are on the outside that matters it's what's in the heart.
Anyway, I don't want to make a long post here, but I do want to encourage you and can vouch that there is hope. My heart goes out to you and anyone else that suffers from eating disorders. I can honestly say that although I am very overweight I don't carry the oppressive, negative thoughts that tried to destroy me in years past. Last year I was diagnosed with cancer (lymphoma) and it's not curable but maintable for a few years. I would just encourage you to love yourself and take care of yourself the best that you can...life is so short... I know that there's a lot involved with eating disorders and there really isn't a quick fix but I'm here for you if you ever want to talk... look me up... :val1:

callystia 10-29-2006 04:35 AM

Wow. Sugarbaby, thank you so much for that post. I can't tell you how much it meant to me. *hugs you tight*

jelly 10-29-2006 09:06 AM

Callystia~ I am sorry to hear that life has taking it's toll. But by sticking to your goals will just make you stronger. Don't thinkof it as a diet, it's a lifestlye and forgive me for saying, no matter what stress goes on you have to be strong for yourself and your health. It'a alot easier then said. I know, I should eat my own words. When things get bad I give up. And you learn from your mistakes. If it's a challenge for you then don't poat everyday and take a break. Come once a week. for now and when things get better come back daily or everyother day.

I reaaly hope things get better and I hope you could clear your mind and stay focused. Have a GREAT day!!! Drink your WATER!!:D

jelly 10-29-2006 09:15 AM

So far so good this morning! I am having my Breakfast right now. Then gotta clean the backyard, do my Billy's Ab bootcamp, and carve pumkins with the kiddies :ghost: Oh and do some homework.Well I 'll be back later to write my lunch, dinner, and snacks. Ya'll have a GREAt day and drink that WATER!!!

SugarBaby~ Have you ever seen the informercails for Billy Blank's Bootcamp workouts?? Well I have the whole set. It comes with Basic bootcamp, Bootcamp live,Ab bootcamp and Ultimate bootcamp. He gives you a rotation calender for those workouts. They all are great workouts.

Breakfast:
1 packet of Cinnamon Oatmeal
1 small Apple
1 bottle of 32 oz Water

Yay Jasmine!!! Way to go on that pound lost!!! I dont know if last week effects this week but it is definetly something to look at. The way our bodies cycle so much I'm interested to see how that keeps playing out. I suppose what you did last week geared your metabolism to work differently this week. Whatever it was it got that scale moving!!
Yeah either way a loss is a better than a gain even if it is small. I am down a total of 1.50 this week. Most weeks it is 2.50 but I am just going to keep giving it my best!

Quote:

I did fairly well yesterday. AF is here so I've got those darn chocolate cravings. And darn it if we dont have Halloween candy. I had 2 of the little Reese's pb cups (the tiny ones) and 2 sugarfree dove dark chocolates. So not terrible but thats about 150 calories I didnt need. We did homemade pizzas last night and I think I overdid it but since I was very disciplined with my other meals I'm sure it was fine. Got in all my water and then some! No exercise though, it was a bad day pain wise for me. Although I need to stop using that as an excuse because there is no reason I cant get on my stability ball and use some weights. That is supposed to be on my plan afterall.
I HATe when that happens! I feel like eating everything in sight when A.F. hits! Thank God I haven''t gotten any chocolate or candy cravings yet!!

What I'd like to include in our chats today is weigh-in days. Everyone things "Sunday" because it's the end of the week, so to speak. But I was thinking of making my weigh-in day Friday. Weekends I think are the hardest for slipping up, and I foresee a possible self esteem issue if I weigh-in after having a bad weekend. I'm just starting, so I haven't set my weigh-in day yet.

Any thoughts? What motivates you to choose the weigh-in day that you did?
Martin you are more than welcome to weigh in on fridays if ya like! This thread is for supporting each other and we havejust general guidelines. We all can weigh in when ever we feel comfy! I myself had originally picked sunday cause when I started the halloween challenge at the beg. of the month it was sunday. I have realized how great it is to have myself a set weigh in day too cause then I track everything from week to week from that date. Like my cals, my exercise, my weighins, etc. So whatever day works for you hun!!1

Today, (soontobe)DH and I are driving in to the city to do a little bit of shopping. It's his first day off in.. oh, well over 20 days. We might eat out, but if we do, I'm going to stick to ordering a sandwich w/side salad (1 tbl spoon dressing), and NO MAYO on my sandwich. I always overdo the mayo, and I think I'm going to try cutting that one specific thing cold turkey, until I can learn to control myself around it.

WISH ME LUCK! I will be bringing fruit for the drive, and 2 bottles of delicious, cold water!
That sounds good. Mayo is a big one. I was always more of a mustard person though thank goodness. When you are at home you could always just do light mayo. :D

Quote:

Oh wow. I bought a new scale today because my scale is REALLY old.
I got home, and pulled it out of it's fancy new wrapping, set it down, and got ready to test it out.

Was I ever shocked! Apparently not only is my old scale old, but broken/off. I don't weigh 262. I weigh.. 279!

I was so good eating out to lunch today, and this feels like such a punch in the gut. Any ideas on how to overcome such a mental setback?

I feel crushed...
Oh my gosh! Hun that is terrible! I would be so upset!!!!  The first thing I would do is make an apt with a doc and get weighed there. So many times even brand new scales are wrong! My situation is reverse, my gyno's scale is 18 pounds less than mine at home but I even had my aunts check mine against their weight and what they weigh at home. Mine is right, his isn't. But that is very rare. Check the scale out somewhere else hun!!

Awww thanx for saying that! I am glad to get to know all of you too! DOn't knock the net it is actually a great way to meet people! I met my hubby online! :D I do feel like I have finally figured out what I am doing! And I would love to help others find their way. If I could of found the cal counting stuff a year ago I might of lost 100 by now but oh well, you live and ya learn. I think as far as boosting our metabs, i think having small meals and snacks helps. It doesnt have to be big. Like obviously my smoothie is for breakfast. Sometimes I will break it up and have a banana around 8:00, then the smoothie around 10:00. coffee and a sandwich at 12:00 and at 3:00 a slimfast. (sometimes if I am hungry I will have that with the snadwich or at 2:00 and then will have a yogurt around 3:00 or serving of cereal) If my hubby has to work the 10-7 shift, then a snack around 5:00, yogurt, if I didnt have one, or cereal, then dinner at 7:45. I hate those days! Otherwise dinner is usually at 6:00. But the point is I think that the small meals and snacks keeps the metab going and makes me feel like I am never hungry! :D

That is not too graphic! I am here for ya hun!! Well I dont want you to feel pressured if that is a problem for you hun! I dont want you to drop out either! I have an idea, why dont you just come to this thread for support? You can make your challenge for turkey day about being binge~purge free and eating healthy? That takes the focus off losing weight andn pouts it on being healthy?

That was a great post! to you too! I am so sorry to hear about the cancer. You do not need to face this lying down! Look at the 3rd link I posted. The worlds healthiest foods. There are some foods that can help to destroy certain types of cancer. I dont know if it will help in your case but it doesnt hurt to try! If you need any help let me know and tomorrow I will probably go looking when the family is back at school and work!

Jasmine31 10-29-2006 11:39 AM

Well for the peeps who'se weigh in day is today, don't forget to do it!!! I stepped on the scale today and it is 218.75 So it is not the 2.5 pound loss I hoped for, but it is still 1.50 pounds. I will accept that! ;) So that officially brings me to 9.75 pounds this month! Hooray! ( I entered my weigh in on the first as 229, but it was actually 228.50 , I didn't want to fool around with half pounds then but you know what? I will take every .25 pound I can get!! )

I am really excited and ready to start a fresh week! Yesterday we went to Denny's and I enjoyed a nice dinner of steak and shrimp and baked potato, with butter and sour cream and a salad! I should of stopped there but they brought two small rolls and I smeared all the butter on those two! Oh well. I feel I deserve it! So I really wasn't exppecting to be down another .25 pounds this morning. hehehehehe I will have to log it all into fitday today and find my average cals for last week. Ill do that later. Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Oh by the way, we went shopping yesterday just to get a few new things and I was able to get a pair of 18 jeans!!!! They do say stretch, so they do have a bit of give in them but they are not elastic or anything!! I wanted to get a black pair too but they didn't have any! I bought one sweater and a few new blouses as well. :D

I will come back and post the totals for the week later today.

Hun.e.B 10-29-2006 12:18 PM

Good Sunday Morning everyone!!

Mande...its just a number on the scale, it does not define who you are! Plus that number is going to change in no time at all! Chin up! You can do this!!

Jelly....Excellent workout!!! You are very brave to take all those little ones out alone!! I couldnt have done it! LOL..I hope you've recovered from the experience LOL!!

Melissa...you did so great yesterday!!! Way to go! I hope you arent getting a cold! Be good to yourself rest and fluids! Hopefully it'll be mild and just pass!

Sugarbaby...water for me has been a gradual thing, I just make sure I've always got my waterbottle handy. On the days when I'm really struggling getting it down I mix half water and half crystal light, for whatever reason I can suck the crystal light down no problem. Eventually it gets to be a habit and now I can tell when I dont get my 3 - 4 bottles I feel really thirsty all day. I checked into the 6 week makeover briefly once, I think Micheal Thurmond is amazing what he can do. But for my body type it recommended WAY too much fish. I hate fish! You are doing so great on it!! Keep up the good work!

Callystia....you are right, sometimes deadlines cause unneccessary stresses. And the more stress the harder things can be. I'm sorry you had a bad day yesterday. I hope things are looking better today!

Jasmine...you are just cruising arent you!!! Sounds like you had a fantastic dinner last night and still down!!! Way to go!! and 18s!!! At the rate you are going they arent going to fit for long!! You are shrinking!! LOL!! Keep up the great work!!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!! Its football day, we are HUGE football family and that means snacks! Oh the snacks!! But I'm going to try very hard to make healthy choices today. Candy got me last night!! I did pretty great all day long till we got in the car for the ride out to the haunted corn maze and I nibbled on candy. I can say that this weekend so far has been better than last weekend! So far anyway! LOL!!

~melissa

martiniforme 10-29-2006 12:48 PM

Today is much better than yesterday. I had a good sleep in until 10am (usually up by 6). Had a good night last night with friends (a few drinks... ONLY 2 Vodka and Diet 7), my spirits were lifted. And I also forgot to mention, I got a new game.
One thing about me is I'm a HUGE gamer. I love video games. I think that's why (soontobe)DH and I get along so well, lol.

I want to say thank you to all of you for your kind words and support.

Get n healthy: I agree 100%. I think if I had found out 20lbs from now, it could have been a very big disaster, reversing all that I had worked for. And you are so right, better now than never. I realize now that regardless of what I'm starting out at, my end goal doesn't change, and what I'm doing to get there won't change, it might just take a little longer. But what's a couple months in the face of years and years of healthy living?? Thank you

sugarbaby269: I have to say, you are truly amazing. You are facing so much more, and yet you seem to be so jovial and uplifting. You have guts, and I hope one day I have guts like you do. I'm going to be seeing my doc later this week, and then for good measure I'm going to also weigh on my mom's scale. Thankyou!

Jasmine31: It's crazy. You don't even know me, yet you are a pillar of support and strength. I have a good feeling that you, and others like you, are going to be one of the reasons I succeed. I'm going to weigh on the doc's scale, as well as my mom's to see where I end up. I'll keep you posted!

Hun.e.B: Thanks doll! Today is a MUCH better day. And my self esteem is shootin' pretty high. I feel good all over! I can't wait for the day when I chin up, and there's no dbl chin! LOL

Today's plan was/is:
Breakfast
Cheerios - 1.5 cups
2% Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 tsp
Orange (raw) - Medium

Lunch
Chicken & Veggie Soup - 1.5 cups
Garlic Toast - 1 small slice

Dinner
Tacos for the boys, but for me...
Taco Salad! Made with fresh spinach, loads of fresh veggies, a small amount (1/4 cup) of beef, and a little Light Sour Cream to top it off.

And of course, little snacks in between. I left room in my cal count today for popcorn with a little butter!

I feel more organized in my daily life even just having my meals planned out.
Today is a good day! I hope it's as good for all of you!

~Mande

Hi everyone!

Thanks for inviting me in this challenge Jasmine! It will work perfectly for me, even though we don't celebrate thanksgiving in the UK! I am aiming to lose 8 pounds and get to that elusive 200 pound mark. Then on the 7th December I am flying over to Chicago, and would LOVE to be 199 pounds!

Anyway, good luck to everyone - I have been reading all the posts, and as ever, they are so inspirational and motivating!

This Sunday I weighed in and have lost 2 pounds, which I am really happy about! I also measured myself, and have started to lose the inches, some of my clothes are starting to look baggier, and that is such a boost!

Take care, all! :)

Thanks :)

So... does the 6 week body makeover diet work? I checked out your thread IAte86crayons and it looked like everyone had a great start but then it just ended? Eeks... Oh well, I'm just starting my diet with it. I know I won't be able to eat fish, chicken and blah oatmeal every day for the rest of my life. Eventually, I'll want a bit more variety in the ol' diet. It makes for a great jump start though. :)

Neesy_20 10-30-2006 07:25 AM

Hey everyone, I did pretty good last month.. I hope I can keep it up!
My starting weight 221
I will calorie count and exercise 45-60 minutes 5 days a week
I have a vacation coming up in december that I wanna lose it for. So, it has definitely been my motivation.

callystia 10-30-2006 08:26 AM

Thanks very much for the support, ladies. You are wonderful.

Jasmine, I think that I will take your advice and make my goal to just not b/p, and to stay as healthy as possible.

I am having a pretty nasty lupus flare right now, probably because of Saturday's antics, and I'm about to go back to bed, but I didn't want to neglect to thank y'all. *hugs all around*

Talk to you soon. Keep up the great work, everyone, and good luck! :)

Hun.e.B 10-30-2006 08:54 AM

Good Monday Morning everyone! My sunday turned out to be not so good, I let the snacks and bad eating win. Thankfully its monday and I can get right back on the wagon and do this! Busy couple of days for me so that should keep me out of trouble for awhile! I hope everyone has a great day!

~melissa

martiniforme 10-30-2006 09:26 AM

Goodmorning All!

Today's plan:
B: 1cup Cheerios (no sweetners), 1/2 cup 2% milk
S: 2small Mandarin Oranges (no peel, EWWW!)
L: 1cup Chicken & Veggie Soup
S: 2 Large Boiled Eggs
D: 1cup Cheddar & Broccoli soup, spinach/tomatoe/grpepper/onion salad
S: 1cup FatFree Jell-O

Other Snacks: 4 Individually wrapped Hot Rods if I get munchy

Total Cals: 1462

E:
30 mins aerobics, grociery shopping, medium house cleaning, and I might take a walk, but it's so cold and snowy out!

W: 3 bottles x500ml

Today will be hard I'm going to my in-laws' for Beef Dips, and they are wildly crazy about the greasy foods (you know, the foods we love to hate, but love to love more! LOL). I'm bringing my own salad. I may just nix the Beef Dip, and bring a turkey sandwich to go with my salad!

Yesterday wasn't as good. I caved at the last second. I ended up eating a chocolate bar, and the entire time I was thinking, "That's okay. You're making up for it in other ways." BUT I'M NOT! There is to be NO making up!! Just losing!! I came out with a stronger resolve for today. KEEP ME AWAY FROM CHOCOLATE!
It's getting hard with the hubby. One minute he's buying chocolate and bringing it up to me, and the next he's chastising me for drinking 1/2 glass of eggnog (accounted for in my daily calorie count). When he did that, I felt like slapping him :o. He and I have to have yet another talk, I believe.

Good luck to everyone today!

~Mande

Okay weighed in yesterday at 158! So my goal is to lose 5lbs and that is going to be a struggle. Saturday I leave for vacation for a week and we all know that it hard just to not gain on vacation. My goal will be to maintain. I am going to where a pedometer while in D.C. to see how much I actually walk.
Yesterday the weather was so beautiful so I went for a 30 minute run/walk with the dog. That is out of the norm, I never exercise for fun, but it was so enjoyable to get out and enjoy the fall weather.

martiniforme: Don't dwell on yesterday, today is a new day and you are starting over! We all have our slip ups every now and then but the key is to get over them and not let them ruin all that you have accomplished. To keep me from overdoing it I let myself have whatever I want for Saturday's dinner and evening snack. Like this Saturday I ate healthy all day and then knew I was going to the movies. Since I knew this was my cheat meal I had a large popcorn and 3 musketeers at the movies for my dinner. This was my splurge and I got my salty and chocolate fix for the week. I also had to have a talk with my husband as well about my efforts to lose weight and not tempting me with food. It took him a while and he has become supportive of my efforts. He has actually even started eating some of the healthy foods I eat and walks the dogs with me at times.

Good Monday Morning Everyone. :D

Wow what a weekend! So busy I had to come to work to take a break:smug: Well weekends are usually not to good for me as far
as food goes. Yesterday was a rest day for me as far as running
goes. My hubby is with the Florida Highway Patrol and this weekend
was one of those rare weekends that he did not have to work.:carrot:
So he and our two wonderful children spent the weekend together.

New day today-
10/30/2006
3.5 mile run this AM (felt pretty good -nice and easy)
B: ww biscuit w/ turkey sausage
S: Vita muffin (love these)
L: 1/2 chicken salad w/ fruit
S: low-fat cheese stick
D: not sure yet.:p

This thread seems to move really quickly so I will do my best to keep up!:dizzy:

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

dollypie: Thanks, doll :) I have planned the talk out, and we'll have it tonight. He's either for it, or against it. I think that needs to be defined. He's expressed in the past that he has low self esteem, and I try to help with that, but I can't do much when mine is sometimes really low, too. I am going to delve to find out how he feels about me and my planned weightloss, what he feels that will mean for us, etc.

Already some changes in today's meal plan. Ayayaya! Not too many.
Calories are below 1600 (in the 1500s) after the day is planned out.

Question: I know that eating too little can cause your body to store all those calories for a later date, it thinks it has to because of the lack of sustinance it's receiving. I never realized how low my calaries really were, just how bad I ate. If I keep my calorie count to around 15-1600, will my body just keep storing them, or is that a healthy calorie count? My weight is just under 280 (I typed 180 for a second there.. I WISH! LOL). I want to do this right! I just can't seem to fit enough calories in. All the stuff I'm choosing is too healthy! hehehe

Thanks!
~Mande

Well, I'm not officially starting this challenge until Wednesday, but since I only weigh in once a week (Monday Mornings) I thought I might as well put my stats here before I forget.

My goal is going to be a 7 pound loss by Thanksgiving Day.

1. Leave your starting weight: 218

2. List what type of exercise you will do daily to achieve your goal: Treadmill at least 5 times per week and "Denise Austin's Daily Workout" at least 3 times per week.

3. List how you will be watching your food, i.e. low carbs, calorie counting, etc: I eat small meals/snacks every three hours. I watch my portion control and add up calories at the end of the day, which will hopefully total between 1,400 and 1,700.

4. Check back in each day to share your progress of if you exercised, share the food you have eaten, etc: Will do... starting Wednesday.

5. Weekly weigh in. We will weigh in every week to see where we are: Well, I'll be back next Monday for this part.

That is great. Its good to get out! My dh is also a huge gamer! Although not as much now that he has me and the kids. His free time is spent between us and playing/finding new games! :D

Awww thanx hun! This site has really helped motivate me and is a constant reminder every day. It really helps to be around like minded individuals!

It was so fattening and good. But... I thought of you Jasmine... LOl. I told myself that if I want to eat one meal that's not on my diet once a week or so that I'm not going to give up. I'm just going to continue the next day and that's what I am doing. So today I MADE myself get some exercise and ate a good breakfast and showered and got on the scale and it showed even more weight loss which I don't understand except for the AF thing might have something to do with it. So total is a 6 pound loss but the sad thing is my weight went up to 271 during our October 10 pound weight loss thing so... So weight now is 265. Not the best but at least the scales are mooooving down. Thank the LAWRD!
That is great! That is the biggest thing I have found is to give myself treat meals. If I am really craving something. I work it in to have it! Even if we goof up bad and have a bad day or two, oh well, shrug it off! The thing we need to remember is the big picture! As long as we keep trying we will never fail no matter how long it takes!! :D

Also, Adams peanut butter is pretty good. It's supposed to be all natural so if you don't have a peanut butter maker at the grocery store (usually in the health department) you could try Adams.

Hello! I am with ya on that one! I just realized it is exactly 8 weeks til x~mas today and I would LOVE to hit 199 by then! I know I can do it!! You can do it too!!!

Total Cals: 1462
Martin I do think that is too low for ya! You might want to start at 1700-1800 a day and see if you can lose on that! I am losing on 1700-1800 cals myself and I am less than you. (I do also walk at least 60 minutes a day) If you go too low too soon, it will be harder to cut later. Also remember that if your body thinks it is starving you will be less apt too lose. Take a look at the womans nutritional calculator and see what ya think! Either way I am glad you are off to a good start!

30 mins aerobics, grociery shopping, medium house cleaning, and I might take a walk, but it's so cold and snowy out!

When he did that, I felt like slapping him . He and I have to have yet another talk, I believe.

Good luck to everyone today!

Martinforme:

I put in your age, weight, goal weight, and height and this is what it said:

Womens Nutrition Health Guide Calculator

Women's Nutrition Guide

Your results for the Women's Nutrition Guide Calorie Calculator

These results will help you to know how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, and the number of calories needed per day to achieve your goal weight in a healthy, steady manner.

You need 2562.3 calories per day to maintain your current weight without exercise.

You need 1970.9 calories per day to reach your goal weight slowly and maintain that weight without exercise.

If you reduce your current caloric intake to 2062.3 calories per day you will lose one pound per week without exercise.

If you increase your current caloric intake to 3062.3 calories per day, you will gain one pound per week.

Exercise and Calorie Needs

If you exercise for 30 minutes each day, you may increase your caloric intake to 2846.3 calories per day and still maintain your current weight.

If you exercise for 60 minutes each day, you may increase your caloric intake to 3201.4 calories per day to maintain your current weight.

If you exercise for 30 minutes each day, you will be able to reach your goal weight with 2184 calories per day.

If you exercise for 60 minutes each day, you will be able to reach your goal weight with 2450.4 calories per day.

Macronutrients

The United States Department of Agriculture suggests that approximately 50% of your calories come from carbohydrates, about 30% from fats, and approximately 20% from protein sources. 1 gram of protein has about 4 calories, 1 gram of fat has about 9 calories, and 1 gram of carbohydrate has about 4 calories.

You need 320.3 grams of carbohydrates, 84.6 grams of fat, and 128.1 grams of protein per day for 2562.3 calories to maintain your weight of 279 pounds.

You need 246.4 grams of carbohydrates, 65 grams of fat, and 98.5 grams of protein per day for 1970.9 calories to maintain your goal weight of 140 pounds.

Opinions vary greatly about the percentages of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins that should make up your diet. About has two great sources of information for Low Carbohydrate Diets and Low Fat Diets.

Please remember that these calorie counts are an average, you may need to adjust your calorie needs up or down slightly to get the results you want.

Jasmine31 10-30-2006 09:40 PM

Quote:

You need 2562.3 calories per day to maintain your current weight without exercise.
Okay so that is what it takes for maintenance now for you. What I actually would do seeing these stats would be to first cut it to 200 cals a day.

That would give you a daily deficit of 562. 562 x 7 days a week would = 3934 less cals a week. (Every 3500 calories burnt, or not eaten - 1 pound) So just on that you would be losing a pound a week. The next thing I would do is start walking. At least 30 minutes a day if you are just getting started. 60 minutes a day if you are used to it.

Quote:

If you exercise for 60 minutes each day, you may increase your caloric intake to 3201.4 calories per day to maintain your current weight.
If you were doing 60 a day walking and you were only eating 2000 cals a day, that would give you a deficit of 1201 cals a day. 1201 x 7 = 8400 cals burnt/saved a week. That basically translates to you losing 2.4 pounds a week. That would be great!

Today's plan:
B: 1cup Cheerios (no sweetners), 1/2 cup 2% milk
S: 2small Mandarin Oranges (no peel, EWWW!)
L: 1cup Chicken & Veggie Soup
S: 2 Large Boiled Eggs
D: 1cup Cheddar & Broccoli soup, spinach/tomatoe/grpepper/onion salad
S: 1cup FatFree Jell-O
You caould add some more fruit in there as well!

Jasmine31 10-30-2006 09:51 PM

Okay so I am doing so!so. My walking is still going great! 60 minutes yesterday, 90 today. Yesterday I was so jonesin for some enchiladas! I put it in my fitday CUSTOM! I did wind up having two portions even though while I was eating I knew I would only need 1 to be satisfied. This is why I make them once a month! Cause I cant say no! I did make them with chicken breast though and mixed half mozarella with half cheddar. Cals wound up at 1841, fat % was 29% So actuallly not bad for a higher cal day. I was up .25 pounds this a.m. *sigh* I am not surprised after saturday though! I am just going to roll with it. Either way I am still down 10 pounds just in October!! I need to remember that and know I can lose another 10 in November. I know I can do it. If I deny myself that is when I really binge.

Well today started off bad with no fruit cause we ran out the door at 7:30! I hate when that happens! It seems like I have no self control on those days! I got home at 11:00 and had 1 serving of enchilada that was left over from last nite! When I think about it I am not surprised I was so hungry! We just had the time change so that was actiually 12:00 with no food yet!! I was still hungry and had 2 slices of wheat bread with mustard and 1 slice of cheese and some turkey and ham lunch meat. 2 big cups of coffee. I was still hungry! I had a serving of honey bunches of oats too! I was fine then but still wanted to binge! It was crazy! But this is how I get if I dont start out with my fruit! I knew I wouldnt be able to last til dinner time at 8:00(he is working the late shift tonite) so I told him on the phone I needed to eat at 5 or so and he understood. I had a cup of brocolli and carrots and 3 chicken legs with tom sauce on them and 1.5 cups of spanish rice. I feel really good now! I havent had chicken legs in ages or meat with any skin on it in at least two months! Nice lil treat. Anyhow my cals are at 1778, the fat % is at 31% so not too bad. I need to kick my butt for a few days and do the strict chicken veggie rice nites to balance this out!

Well see what happens.

Stevi-rocks 10-30-2006 10:26 PM

kay, well...since I last posted I've dropped 2 lbs....yippee. My exercise has gone straight to the hot place since I threw my back out 3 weeks ago. Its simply not the same yet. I'm seeing the chiropracor once a week. Had a Halloween gig ( I sing lead vocals in a cover band ) and my back was just aching sun and today ...he fixed it today though! I would marry that man if 1) we both wheren't ALREADY married and 2) he wheren't 100 years old. lol
I'm still reallly active as I've always been a busy bee type. I always doing something, I don't TV much. I do think I'm losing the toning I worked so hard for!!! I'll check my inches in the morning.
I weigh in on Mondays, I find that it keeps me honest over the weekend KNOWING I have to "check in" 1st thing Monday morning. I'm not into greasy foods, fast food/soda so thats not an issue with me..Its the BAKED GOODS!!! I love cookies and brownies and muffins! X-mas is gonna be killer for me as I love to bake. Oh chocolate is good too.;)
Mande~ Yeah, your running a lil low for now. Add to your snacks. Bummer about the scale! I say its a conspiracy! THEY LIE!!! j/k...In April after DS#2 birth I was at a whopping 262lbs. Which I expected...they weigh you alot in prenatal visits, to my point...The 1 st visit I got on the scalke for the 1st time in 6 years and was sweatin' bullets but MADE myself own up to it....242lbs later, I cryed ( as I was PG as well) then picked myself up, dusted off and vowed not to gain more than 30 lbs with my pregnancy. 40 weeks later, I weighed in at 270 and had a beautiful baby boy. Best thing I EVER did was own up to my true number. And I will NEVER avoid a scale again! Kutos to you for steppin' up! :D
Jasmine~ Haven't seen you in the 30's thread...CUZ YOUR TOO BUSY HERE!!! :D You are so generious with your time and knowledge...good Ju Ju to you! I keep Beef jerky in the car for those "I'm gonna die if I don't get something NOW" moments.
Anybody tryed the Mission carb balance tortillas?? If you are lacking fiber these things are PACKED! 24 grams in a LG tortilla. And they are very yummy. I hav em with turkey bacon, egg whites and salsa. MMMmmmm.

Hun.e.B 10-30-2006 11:28 PM

Doing a late check in because I need to refocus tonight. I dont know what my problems is I've been so horrible with my eating today. and the chocolate...oh the chocolate! Dove dark chocolates...evil evil!! I almost feel sick I've had so many. And I way over did dinner. Its like I've got this bottomless pit thing going on, no control, and my goals havent even stopped me tonight. I REALLY need to pull myself together and remember why I'm doing this.

Mande...my sister in the chocolate! LOL!! How was your Monday? Better? Its funny with husbands, they get it but they dont get it, if that makes any sense. Mines never chastised me for eating anything as of yet, I think he's afraid of my reaction LOL! I deal with his esteem alot in my weightloss journey and have come to realize it has ALOT to do with why I'm still heavy. Its something I'm working very hard on changing. I hope today was a better day, a strong day for you!

Dollypie...you are doing GREAT! And you'll do great on vacation. Just remember those goals. You can enjoy just remember your moderation and portions. I think maintain is an excellent way to go into it! Have a great time!!

Stacey....sounds like you had a fantastic weekend, way to go on that run!! I've yet to be able to do that, I think I'll need some industrial strength bras if I ever do! LOL! Keep up the good work! You are a true inspiration!

Tisha...congrats on 17 lbs gone!!! That is so awesome!!! Keep up the great work!

Jasmine....16 is a GREAT goal!! I have every faith you'll reach it no problem! And that walking!!! OMG!! You are amazing!! Keep it up!

Stevi....Way to go!! 2 lbs gone!! That is great news! I've been considering seeing a chiropractor for my back. I think I've got severe sciatica it causes tremendous pain down the back of my leg. I've been suffereing with it for over a year, finally went to see a doctor about it and he told me nothing was wrong with me, accused me of being a pain med seeker. The good news is the more weight I lose the less pain I'm in. Hopefully that keeps going and I wont need to see anyone! Keep up the great work!! You are shrinking!!

Well, I feel a little better seeing how great you all are doing. I get energized seeing that darn scale move and days like today are not going to make that happen. I hope everyone is having a wonderful night!! "see" you in the morning!! Happy Halloween!

~melissa

I love this having to check in daily. I need a challenge that will keep me on track daily:D

1. I will Weigh in tomorrow.

2. I will be walking ....I'm going to make it to my November exercise goal

3. I do WW ...Starting NOW all points will go in the book or calculator to report to this thread YAY!!!!

martiniforme 10-31-2006 11:09 AM

Jasmine: Seriously. You are a DOLL! No expectations of myself, except that I stay on track, and stay strong. But the prospects still excite me! I managed to get my cal count just over 2000 today. Praise the peanut butter Gods! LOL! Also, added more fruit to my daily meal plan :) I want to add fruit to my breakfast, but right now I just like having the same thing over and over so I can just go, eat it, and not have to think to much about it. Then I sit down right after breakfast, and plan my day :)

Melissa: Monday was ALOT better. I work for my (soontobe)mother-in-law, and we're really close. In the afternoones we sit back, have a cigarette (I have plans for that, and will share a little bit later), and just chat. She knows her son even better than I do, and being able to vent to her, and have her help me lay it all out really helps. No cheating yesterday!! Happy Hallowe'en

Breakfast
Cheerios w/ 2% milk

Snack
Apples (chopped) with cinnamon

Lunch
Chkn/Veggie Soup w/ toasted bread and a smidge of margarine

Snack
Grapes, grapes, grapes!

Dinner
Baked potato w/ a little sour cream
Cooked peas

Snack
Peanut butter toast

Water

Exercise
The usual, house cleaning, laundry, walking to/from work. Gotta go over to the elementary school to help my niece get dressed up for their Halloween Costume Contest, etc. I'm going to try to take a long route to work so I can get in a full 30 minutes - 40 minutes of walking in total (there and back combined). I think I'm going to stay away from my step maching today. My knees are not happy :dizzy:

Cal Count
2075

It's sooo hard to get all of those calories in!!! I'm not used to eating this much, or this often. I think there were 3 main causes to my weight gain. Bad food. Lack of spreading out to smaller portions. Lack of exercise (aka: laaazzzziness hehe).

I'll get used to it. I bought kiwis for tomorrow :D:D:D

Happy Hallowe'en everyone! I hope you have a good day!

kay, well...since I last posted I've dropped 2 lbs....yippee. I would marry that man if 1) we both wheren't ALREADY married and 2) he wheren't 100 years old. lol
That is great!!! WTG!! I am glad to hear ya got it fixed!!

I'm not into greasy foods, fast food/soda so thats not an issue with me..Its the BAKED GOODS!!! I love cookies and brownies and muffins! X-mas is gonna be killer for me as I love to bake. Oh chocolate is good too.
Oh my gosh I hear ya! I have been doing pretty good with that. I think between the slimfast and the amaretto creamer in my coffee every day I get enough sugar. I LOVE baked stuff to although probably not as bad as you! I can keep it under control. I will usually bake some blue berry muffins 1-2 a month cause that makes me feel like I am having a treat w/out it being too bad for me. Once a month generally I just have to have a slice of pie!! I need to find low fat low sugar recipes cause I would love to have desert every sunday. :(

Today for a treat I am making halloween ghost cupcakes for the kids! I am limiting myself to just one and a smear of frosting!

I know what ya mean! I am being slow about losing right now to so it is harder to stay focused! We can do this though! Even if it takes twice as long. Don't lose sight of the big picture!

Jasmine....16 is a GREAT goal!! I have every faith you'll reach it no problem! And that walking!!! OMG!! You are amazing!! Keep it up!
Thanx!! I think I can do it. I think I just may need to cut my portions on my bad nites. Its annoying cause the cals are still the same and the fat % is only at 30% but I think it has to be lower to make a difference! :(

Jasmine: Seriously. You are a DOLL! No expectations of myself, except that I stay on track, and stay strong. But the prospects still excite me! I managed to get my cal count just over 2000 today. Praise the peanut butter Gods! LOL! Also, added more fruit to my daily meal plan I want to add fruit to my breakfast, but right now I just like having the same thing over and over so I can just go, eat it, and not have to think to much about it. Then I sit down right after breakfast, and plan my day
Awww, your welcome. It wasn't hard! Fruit is a great thing. Lots of health benefits from it! I also notice a huge difference the days I start with fruit and don't. If I don't there is like this hunger button that will NOT turn off!! I have started doing a tbs of peanut butter some days too. Make sure you get an accurate measuing spoon and not just from the set in your drawer. I started using the reg measuring set and 1 tbs is actually equivalent to 2 spoons from my normal sets!

Yeah I am hoping my hubby can quit eventually too! until then pack on the vitamin a! It seems people who get some lung diseases are severally depleted in vitamin a. Also there is a ton of fruit that actually helps fight cancer cells! (It is all in the healthiest food link on page 1) So til you quit the best thing you can do is down the fuit and veggies! Grapefruit is supposed to be really good for that too!

Well today I did not run. I really felt it would be best for my back if
I took the day off. Yesterday all day my back was sore from my early
morning run. Rather be safe than sorry. I will be doing alot of walking
tonight as we will be taking the kids trick-or-treating. Now all I have to
do is manage to stay out of their goody bags. We will be going to my parents house which is literally right around the corner from our house.
My dad is going to make his homeade chili it is the best. Just have to keep it to one bowl... if possible
Yes if you are hurting then you need a break for sure! :D Chile sounds good right about now!!

Hi jubileloo! How are you doing today?

sugarbaby269 10-31-2006 02:01 PM

Feeling quite blah today with this head cold... :(
Went to the gym last night and did about 45 minute workout but I doubt I'll go walking today unless this cold medicine kicks in.

Dinner last night was roast with potatoes, carrots, onion
I made a spiced maple cake that was heavenly... or maybe not... maybe it was of the DEVIL!!! LOL I rationed me out a little piece and it was so good.
Today:
B-grapefruit and protien bar. (not on my diet but I'm tweaking this one here and there)
S-not really hungry cause of this lousy cold
L- Tuna and salad and maybe some rice cakes
S-popcorn? Veggies
D-Chicken fajitas with veggies and refried FF beans
