I used to be able to get all my exercise in but do terribly with food, and now I'm doing a lot better with food, but terrible with exercise. I just seem so tired lately. I think maybe I'm not getting enough vitamins or something. My body doesn't want to move. I know, if I started exercising again and just stuck with it for a while, I'd want to move again, that's what happened last time. I just can't seem to get with it.

On the plus side....
I took my measurements today, and the offical results:
Down 1 pound from last week... total of 6#s for April., and a total of 4.5 inches. :dancer:
I can live with that. Now, for my repeat performance.....

~Elisha

Elisah...I hear you on ALL those issues, chickie!

First, the Feta cheese sounds awesome! I am going to make a point to put that on my grocery list in the next week or so (I like to try new things, and trying cheese is right at the top of my list! ;) )

Way to go on the reward system for rexercise! With me, I have to "punish" (not really ;) ) myself when I DO eat the bad stuff! But that is going to stop as of this moment! :D

I know what you mean about food/exercise thing! I seem to have had that very issue last month. If I did good with food, the exercise sucked (can I say that?) and If I did good with exercise, the food sucked! Can't win either way! I need both, so that's why THIS challenge is so important to me! I have figured out all the errors of my way with the last 3, so now it's time to perfect the routine!!! :smug:

And way to go on the weight and inches loss! Just keep doing that and in 12 months you will have lost 72 lbs! Yea Elisah! You go chickie! Doing great!

Morning, chickadees! :)

Good Morning, sunshines! :encore:

I'm still suffering from a case of drag-butt this morning. I just couldn't get my butt up. So no "real" morning exercise for me today- need to make up for that this afternoon with the WATP, or a marathon bike ride. And get another lesson finished for school. I got my last lesson back & got a 95% on it- a great grade, but it doesn't make much of a difference.

For those who don't know/are interested, my on-line school changed formats about a month ago- totally changed the software, and started a new grading system as well. All of my prior "grades" were converted to the new system, but regardless of the prior grade, anything submitted before the conversion date was graded an 80%. I busted my butt to do the best job possible, but you take 10 classes of 16, and convert everything to 80%, it doesn't really matter what you do with the final 6, right? Sheesh. All I know is I'm going to complete the assignments, but not toil over them for days & days to make sure that it's a piece that could go into my portfolio. Pfffft on them, right?

So, gotta do another lesson tonight- I can probably get a head start on it at work again, if things are as dead as they were yesterday.

Today's plan:

Breakfast-
1 pineapple cottage double
1 4oz can diced mixed fruit, drained

Lunch-
1 low fat tortilla
1/2 cup taco meat
1oz shredded skim cheese
1 4oz can diced, mixed fruit, drained.

Dinner-
chicken breast & veggies

Afternoon exercise- at least 2 miles WATP, or 30 mins on the bike. Probably more, to make up for this morning. I checked the scale again this morning to see if the Olive Garden lunch was sneaking up on me, and I'm down another .2 pounds, so it looks like the bullet was dodged there.

Julie- chickie, you had a stressful day there yesterday, and you turned to ice cream. I know you've been fighting hard to change these behaviors- next time, try to take a walk around the office, or just get outside. Clear your head, and don't give in to these old behaviors of ours. I'm so proud of you for fitting it into your day & not blowing things & throwing away the day. Just use this as a learning experience, and figure out what you can do better the next time. I know you will! ((( Julie )))

Oh- I found this yesterday linked to a newsletter I get- so I thought I'd share it. You need Adobe acrobat reader to view it.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

lakester 05-05-2004 10:07 AM

Hi! I have to make this real short and sweet as I am running behind (as usual). I'll catch up with everyone tonight or tomorrow. Yesterday was great for me busy, busy! I made all my quotas, exercise, water and calories. Today should be the same. Whoopie and I took a walk this morning and I will have to do exercise machines later today as well as crunches. Hope everyone is doing well.... Have a great day!!!!

Day 3

Good morning all - great work on the grade Jennifer! Even if it doesn't matter, *YOU* know how much you rock!

So yesterday was great food-wise..it seems to be getting easier to keep the calories low, but today I feel so hungry! It's only 9:33 am here and my tummy's already growling after breakfast at 7:30, so I'm going to try to hold out until 10:00 and then have my first mini-meal of the day.

Let's see - big exercise day planned - a BodyPump class at 5:20 followed by a Step 3 class at 6:25 - that should be good! The rain has started here, so no walking to and from work for a while! :(

Food plan for today:

Bfast - 3/4 Kashi Crunch with skim, Grande Americano with whole milk and half shot of sugar free vanilla syrup - he he
Mini Meal #1 - Either a mini tuna meal w/ veggies (about 160 cal) or I'm going to go down to the deli to see if they have that veggie farmhouse salad I like...
Mini Meal #2 - turkey, swiss and spinach in a low carb wrap with dijon/horseradish
Snack - 5 prunes
Mini Meal #2 - SuperBar before the gym
Dinner - tuna salad and spinach in a low carb wrap

No weighing in is going great - it's filling me with such anticipation!!

lameducklucy 05-05-2004 12:40 PM

Helloooooo!!! I am totally nuts w/ energy. I woke up at 2:30 this morning feeling really ill and covered in sweat, and didn't really fall back asleep at all. got up at 7:30/8, and I've been running like mad ever since.

Gonna do my tapes early today, and then spend the rest of the day cleaning and going crazy with it. I have 5 closets (huge ugh!) to go through and decide what we're gonna try to sell and what we're gonna keep, and then set all of it aside. And bag up all the garbage I find and put the bags in the living room. This, of course, is all after I clean the entire house, wash the windows, perhaps bake a new thing for the hubby to take to work (yeah, i actually do that... haha!), do all the dishes laundry & filing of paperwork which must be done, etc etc etc.

SO I have a very busy day in front of me, hehe! A lot of stuff to do, though. That's good, since I have no real workout to do today *sob* That's okay. It's gonna be around 70 today and that'll make me feel better, because i'll sweat while I exist.

Other than that, we're uber broke at the moment (paycheck was off for the bills agh!), so we're living on top ramen at the moment.

B - Top ramen
L - can of tuna & some carrot sticks
D - something out of chicken (blech!)

I've discovered something. Because I'm not very hungry very often, I think that if I eat dinner later, rather than eating dinner at 7 w/ the hubby & stuff, if I eat around 8:30/9, and we go to bed at 10/11, then I don't wake up feeling sick because I need to eat, but I still don't end up eating a bunch of crap every night!! I HAVE BEATEN THE DEMONS OF AFTER DINNER SNACKING!!!!!! *evil laughter*

Anyway, yep. Hope everybody is having a good day!! I am going to go clean like a mad woman and probably look like a spaz as I dance to my random music choices. :D

Jaymi_Dol_78 05-05-2004 05:06 PM

Today is going ok except for this killer headache. I waited to long to eat and now my head is throbing. Oh, and dont forget the fact that my car died in the middle of the road and some one had to push the car back to the parking lot. That car sucks!!! I cant wait until I get something else. Luckily my neighbor brought my son to school today and picked him up. That was very nice of her since we dont really know each other, but her grandaughter goes to the same school. I have no idea how he's getting to school tomorrow because the car wont' be fixed until then... yeah right. My husband wants to take it back the the same place that messed it up. Do men ever learn??? I"m going to start making him drive that car and see how that feels.

Well I just turned on Dora the Explorer so hopefully I can chunk my daughter into the playpen and get on that treadmill. I still did my hour yesterday, but I could only go 2.5 miles and hour instead of 3.0. Which is kool since I hadnt worked out in 2 weeks. At first I felt like I was gonna pass out, so I stuffed an apple in my mouth and kept going. I sure hope aleeve doesnt mix badly with these adipex or I"m in big trouble. But my head hurts!!!

Well as far as my menu:

Breakfast: 1 bagel w/ sugar free jelly and cant believe its not butter lite
Lunch: Salisbury Steak & Mashed potatoes (Lean Gourmet)
Dinner: Probably a turkey burger

I did 45 minutes of my Denise Austin tape today, which means I fast forwarded through the comercials, so all in all it wasnt bad.

I just have to empasize one more time... *MY HEAD HURTS!!* LOL

Ok just thought I'll get that out again. Well I'm off to conquer the world!!
Got 26 more days to lose 10 more pounds.. think I can do it?? I hope so.
Bye all!

lameducklucy 05-05-2004 06:09 PM

Woo!! I am almost done with everything on my list for today. I've been running non-stop since 10am today. YAY!! :D

I have had a full-day workout, just about, and I haven't even stopped for lunch, yet. Had breakfast around 9:50, and it's 3 p.m. now. I really don't want to eat, but I know I need to or I'll get sick & stuff, so I'll go find something small to munch down. :D

I have SO MUCH stuff to get rid of at our yard sale!! I am so happy about this... my office's closet is finally able to SHUT! I've got 2 gigantic green bins of 'stuff' set aside in the non-used hallway in the office, as well as a double-sized beanbag that I'm gonna get rid of, and a kitty castle that our cats don't use anymore. PLUS all the stuff that's up at our old place in the shop & inside. AGH!! I hope we sell a lot, or we're going to be visitng Goodwill with a semi!!

So now that I'm pretty much finished in here... what the **** am I gonna do tomorrow?! I have nothing left to clean and stuff. Maybe I'll bake something complicated for the hubby's work crew (who are awesome, btw. That bbq saturday night was the most fun I have in a very, very long time!) and spend half my day doing that. I wish there was some form of fitness show on during the day that I could follow along with.... :( Maybe I'll order something off of Netflix to keep for a few weeks... that would be easy to do. :D

Okay, just kinda posting in the middle of the dya, I know, but I am proud of myself for going through a giant closet of junk and sorting through, cleaning the WHOLE HOUSE, and doing all this other stuff, too.
I think I'm down on the poundage, but I haven't weighed in a couple days. I feel a little differnt and certain areas are a little different, but who knows. Maybe I'm nuts. :D

hikein2005 05-05-2004 06:25 PM

Weds Check In

Have I mentioned how irritating these Special K pop ups are??? Grrr!

OK, well today, food was much better! No binges on icecream or anything! Ate all the food I packed, had a good breakfast and a snack this afternoon. I'm not hungry right now, so I am going to wait to eat supper with hubby (maybe). He went out to Walmart to get an eggcrate cushion for our new mattress. He didn't sleep well on it last night...I did! :D So, he wants to send the mattress back, but I told him to try it with the egg crate first and then see! I digress!

Food today:
B- Oatmeal w/ FF milk, Splenda & 1 tsp Peanut Butter, 1/2 cup egg beaters, scrambled with 1/2 oz. cheese
L-Brown Rice, taco meat, cheese, 1/2 cup coleslaw, 1/2 cup strawberries
S- Zone Bar
D- to be sauteed summer squash & zuchinni, grilled chicken, spinach on a 1/2 flat bread roll up, 6 oz. milk

Exercise-TOM showed up (right on time this month, I might add) this morning, so I was a bit crampy and just did some toning stuff instead of a full out aerobic workout this morning. I may squeeze in a bike ride yet tonight! We'll see!

I know I said I wasn't going to weigh this month...or at least try and today I wanted to show a girl at work some toning exercises (like basics!) and we both weighed ourselves. I always thought she was soooo much smaller than me and turns out, she's only 18 lbs less than me! Hmmmm! But with TOM and all, I was up a couple of pounds. That WILL be gone soon! Gonna go ride that bike after this memory!!! LOL!

Glad to hear everyone is staying on plan. Great job chickies! YOu are doing awesome! Let's keep this going...and I PROMISE to stay away from the sugar! It's not a good thing! *Evil Sugar be gone!*

Hugs to all!

miss_elisha 05-05-2004 07:43 PM

Okay! Here we go!

Not doing too bad so far today, even though I've been hungry all day and eaten some bad stuff (you'll see...). I haven't exercised yet, but I'm certainly feeling up to it, and I plan to get to it as soon as I finish this post.

Last night was really busy, and I was really tired, so I didn't get any exercise in other than the walk I took yesterday morning. Oh! And I had the munchies all freaking day. What is up with that? Anyway, here's what I ate yesterday (I know I posted part of it yesterday, but some of it changed, and some of it wasn't posted at all, so I'm just going to rehash completely):

9:00am
1 cup of coffee w/creamer
1 glass of V8
1/4 cup of feta cheese
2 scrambled eggs
2 slices of 12-grain toast
2 tbsp. margarine

10:00am
Walked 1 mile in 20 minutes
1 glass of water

4:00pm
1 can of Diet Dr. Pepper
2 slices of whole wheat bread
1 slice of LF bologna w/ mustard
1 serving of Wow! potato chips

10:00pm
2 glasses of water
1 serving of cheese + bacon potatoes
1 slice of LF bologna
1 slice of 12-grain bread
1 tbsp of margarine

11:15pm
1 serving of Wow! potato chips

I know that looks really bad, but I measured everything and I still came in at 1530 calories. I never use a full tablespoon of margarine, but I counted it as one anyway. And as far as the chips go... I've been craving chips lately, and the Olean stuff has never given me any problems before, so I figured I might as well save the calories and get the fat-free kind.

Okay, now for today:
8:30am
1 cup of coffee with creamer
1 slice of whole wheat toast
1 tbsp margarine
1 fried egg

12:45pm
1 can of Diet Dr. Pepper
1 serv. Wow! chips
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 slice LF bologna w/mustard

5:30pm
1 med. Diet Pepsi
3 KFC crispy strips
1 biscuit
1 tbsp margarine
1 serv. coleslaw

Yeah, I know, KFC = bad, but Dad brought it when he picked me up from work, and I was pretty much ravenous at the point. I think I need to spread out my calories a bit more, rather than having 300 for breakfast, 300 for lunch, and 900 for dinner! It's not that I do it intentionally, it's just that I'm the only one I have to worry about at breakfast and lunch, whereas my whole family eats dinner. But still, according to the 3FC Fast Food Nutrition info on KFC, my calories are still at 1430 for the day, so I can have a little treat later if I want one, but ONLY IF I EXERCISE!

On the positive side of things... KFC definitely makes the munchies go away, and the grease makes me feel all bbbllleeehhh.... so I don't want to eat anymore!

Ok, time to exercise now. I'll come back and post after my workout, just to be sure I actually DO workout. ;)

See you soon!

lisa girl 05-05-2004 09:04 PM

Please....can I Join??????

Chickies!!!!!! Oh my goodness, I have missed you all!!!! I have been on such a roller coaster lately...just in survival mode basically. I have my Mom all settled into her apartment. It is such a nice place! And that makes me feel tons better.

Remember the Ball I told you guys about?? Well, it was spectacular!!! I got in the blue dress with the assistance of a major girdle and some control top pantyhose to boot. My sister in law did my hair up so pretty...it had some tiny jewels in it. And....we had on fake eyelashes!! OOOOh I loved getting ready!!! I had on a bit of body glitter on my chest and upper arms and back too. I wore bright lipstick. We danced and danced, and my DH was so very handsome in his tux! It was a memory I will cherish always. The only bad thing was that I had a yucky headache for a bit, and I felt like I was going to throw up, which was not good, because we had to be formally "announced" and descend a spiral staircase. I kept thinking "what if I fall down the stairs?". But, all was well. I got to feeling better after a bit.

O.K., now back to the food. I need the TAZER and a swift kick in the a** immediately. I am back on track as of this moment. See what happens when I don't check in every day??? I feel bloated and unhealthy at the moment. But never fear. I am on a mission. And I am extremely stubborn. I am going to do this. CHICKIES, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

Here I am typing away, and I know over half of you don't even know me!! But, I would like to help any of you in any way I can. Don't listen to Julie, I do not use the tazer on people like a madwoman!!! (only teasing Julie) Hope you all have a great night and a super day tomorrow!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!!! Welcome back, chickie!! I am soooo glad you are here! :D I have missed you, chickie!!! Now don't be gone so long next time...and don't be telling stories about that tazer...only I know the REAL story!!!!

The ball sounds exquisite and I'm sure you looked like a Queen! BUT WE WANT TO SEE PICTURES, RIGHT GIRLS????????

Hugs to you and keep checking in daily, girlie! Glad you are back, really!
:cb: Now, get your butt in gear cause THIS is gonna be the month that we all kick some a**!!!!!

miss_elisha 05-05-2004 10:33 PM

Ok, here's my promised exercise update for the evening. I got on the treadmill, like I said I was going to, but at a little over 6 minutes into my walk it started making this weird clicking noise that I really don't think it's supposed to make. I think I finally broke the poor thing. *sigh* What am I going to do without my trusty treadmill?!
I guess I'll have to save up and buy a new one. Yeah right, that will take forever. I can't even pay the bills I have, let alone actually SAVE money.
Anyway, I didn't let the treadmill trouble stop me. I climbed off and went for a walk/jog outside. I actually ran close to a quarter of a mile, before I almost threw up the KFC I had earlier. I should learn my lesson about doing too much too soon. So I continued walking--yep, up the driveway (and it is he** in the winter, but that's what we get for living in the middle of nowhere). When I got back I did my UB circuit while watching the last half of American Idol. I was going to get on the stairclimber for 10-15 minutes, but when I tried it my calves cried out in protest. I guess I will have to work on that a little at a time too, right after my jogging sessions! :D

Oh, and I did add a fudgesicle, which, at 100 calories, puts me at 1530 for the day--still under my limit of 1700, so I'm happy with that. Plus I did exercise today, so all is well, even with the bad food and the treadmill breakdown. I can't let little things like that stop me! No way!

Ok, that's all from me today. Lots to do tomorrow--phone interview for a job I don't really want tomorrow morning, cleaning my grandparents' porches for summer usage, and probably the inside of their house too, cleaning my own house hopefully, and who knows what else. Bleh... that means I need sleep!
Night chicks!

~Elisha

magnoliamouth 05-06-2004 04:40 AM

eeee gads, been slow to checking in haven't I? Well now that the Easter Challenge is over I guess I'm ready for the next.

1. Promise to do my walk on the treadmill
2. Stay under 1300 calories
3. drink min 8 glasses of water each day.
4. Weight 160 by 5 June 04.
5. Eat healthy calories in that 1000 to 1300 calories.
6. Learn more about my eating patters so I can change them for life.

I feel like a mad woman, been running around like crazy appointments for this and that, for hubby and grandson, and then in between tired. I have only missed my walk one time, but felt guilty as h--- even though I was sick.

Did I tell you chickie that I've earned the first reward my dh and I set up. I get my facial today. He even went and got it himself and had them put it in a gift certificate form, and they bagged it up in a bag with tiger stripped tissue paper. That was too cool.

Something else just dawned on me the last two weeks, oh my god, "in a year and a half I will turn 50, half a century old" I do not like growing old graciously. I need a plastic surgeon! But first! get the weight off. All kidding aside I am seriously thinking about when I reach my goal, about going to the plastic surgeon and getting a tummy tuck. What do you guys think, please talk me out of this as I've watched it on tV and it is so gross but the results look so good that I'm so temped.

ok, enought here, too early to start with the gross thoughts. Anyway, ya'll havea good weekend and Mother's day and I will try and check in before then.

lakester 05-06-2004 10:25 AM

Hi Ladies! another quickie 'cause there is much to do and I'm burn'n daylight! I have a confession, I had two smirnoff ices, one small pc of cheese bread (the tiniest end pc) and (count them) not one but TWO pcs of white pizza! Yikes! I found out we were going out right after lunch so I saved all the rest of my calories for the day for last night indiscretion. So it could have been worse! Whoopie and I did our 3.5 miles around the subdivision now I need to do my crunches (didn't get them in yesterday). Then a quick shower run a few errands and get into the woods to mow and plant. Also finish any misc planters that I'd like to plant and clean the pool area. That should keep me busy until hubby gets home. Have a good day Ladies!

**Jennifer** 05-06-2004 10:27 AM

So Happy It's Thursday....

Morning, chickies! It's Thursday...and the last episode of Friends. Going to be glued to the TV tonight to watch the big event, so I need to get my afternoon exercise in before then. I'm tired this morning- didn't want to get up, but I did, and did my 1 mile WATP this morning.

I'm still over-bloated from eating dinner late last night. Feel like there's a brick in my stomach. I kept breakfast light, so that I could take my vitamins & 2 advil for the headache I've got this morning. Owwie.

Breakfast:
1/3 cup soy smart start
1 4oz can mixed fruit, drained

Lunch:
2 meatballs & 1/3 cup sauce
3/4 cup bowtie pasta
sprinkle parmesan

Dinner- maybe soup, depending on how the stomach feels.

Afternoon exercise- at least 2 miles WATP, and some resistance band work.

Then, everything will screech to a halt for Friends. :) Well, that just means I can do longer workouts on Thursdays, since I won't have that to watch. And the reruns are on every night at 11 here, so it's not like we'll never see it again. ;)

Checking in on the chickies.........

Lakester- great job staying on track for the day. Way to go, chickie!

ForReal- how did the 2 classes go? Hope the person calls you back as far as the "teaching" !

Lucy- where the heck do you get all this energy??? LOL- ok, time to fly you out here to go thru my stuff when we get ready to move. If we ever find the land to build the fricking house on! We are running out of room!

Jaymi- sorry to hear about the car. That just bites. And men....yeah, I'd make him drive that & leave him stranded a few times. See how he likes it ;) Way to go with the Denise Austin tape!

Julie- good recovery from the other day- food looked great for yesterday. Looks like you've got this under control! You go girl!

Elisha- I know what you mean about that grease- we ate later than normal last night, and it was more than I usually have & everything is laying like a lump. Ugh! Exercising after that was horrible, and even this morning, it was like walking with a brick laying there! You still did great, keeping things under for the day.

Lisa- Hi honey! :) So glad you're back with us! I'll bet you were totally stunning at the ball. I wanna see pics, girlfriend! Hope Mom is doing well- at least you're very close to her. You know we're always here for you! ((( Lisa )))

Maggi- Glad you joined us again! Welcome back! :D Wow- how thoughtful of your honey to present your reward that way! And congrats on earning the reward. I can't wait to see the earrings when you hit that one! ;) Remember, carats are veggies, too! Hee hee hee. I totally understand the tummy tuck thinking...when I get to goal, I know I'm going to have a lot of skin hanging around...I'm either going to have to roll it up & tuck it into a support garment, or do a lot of tucking. :o

Have a great Thursday, chickies! I'll check back in after lunch!
