December Exercise Challenge

  • As we in the northern hemisphere move into the colder months, what are your plans for continued exercise?

State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

This thread is for fitness and exercise goals. For other weight loss goals, be sure to see our sister thread: December Weight Loss Challenge
  • Since I'm still recovering from a cold and we're moving into colder weather, I'm going to set my exercise goal to a more reasonable 1700 minutes for the month.
  • thanks Joy I'm in please

I'm not sure what I'll be able to do this month until I've seen the physio, so I'll have to wait to set a target

  • I didn't set a target this month, so I'll use my usual one, but add rock climbing/bouldering:

    target:
gym, sailing, climbing, walking - 8x total

since I was a bit limited on cardio this month & it's too cold for sailing, I got super-into rock climbing/bouldering instead (which is considerably easier these days as there's rather less of me to haul up the rock ):

    actual:
    gym 4x, sailing 0x, climbing 6x, walking 0x - 10x total

my hip/thigh (piriformis) is on the mend & I've been able to get back on the elliptical & some gentle treadmill stuff, so hopefully a bit more cardio next month.
  • MrBadger: Woohoo! Congrats on ten workouts in December. That's something to build on. Great idea to find a winter substitute for sailing. Rock climbing sounds fun.
