December Weight Loss Challenge

December is traditionally a difficult month for losing weight. Let's subvert the trend!

Join the December Weight Loss Challenge to set your goal, track it, and meet it -- with the help of a supportive and encouraging group. All the goals will be compiled into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

This thread is for weight loss goals. For your exercise goals, check out our sister thread: December Exercise Challenge

I'm tired of recording my food in My Fitness Pal, so I'm going to take a month off from that activity to see if I can cope.
Since my starting weight is lower than recent months, I'm going to move my red line from 83ks to 82.5kgs -- a sneaky way to see if I can lose a little more weight, even though I've declared myself to be in maintenance.

December goal: Maintain below 82.5 kgs

1: 80.9 kgs

thanks Joy I'm in please. I've found doing MFP very effective, but entering every last think you eat in the app is a bit of a pain

start: 12st 4.5lb / 172.5lb
target: 12st 0lb / 168lb
target loss: 4.5lb

since I lost a lot last month & I'm not sure how much exercise I'm going to be able to do until I've seen the physio (plus the time of year of course) I'm setting a lower target this month. I seem to be quite happy on ~1,600cal/day without feeling overly hungry or craving anything, so I feel like I may as well keep it going.

I'm in for December too. My goal is 2 lbs for this month. I now have a date for my hip replacement surgery which will be at the end of December. I'm a bit nervous about it but I'm looking forward to not having any more pain and to be able to be more active again.

Mr. Badger: congrats on yourNovember results - great job!
Joy: great job on your maintenance.

Are you ready to embrace resolution season in January?

Here's our new thread: January Weight Loss Challenge

MrBadger 01-01-2025 05:41 AM

start: 12st 4.5lb / 172.5lb
target: 12st 0lb / 168lb
target loss: 4.5lb

current: 12st 1.75lb / 169.75lb
loss: 2.75lb

I think I got a bit of a rogue low weight at the start of the month as I spiked up a couple of pounds for a week or so. anyway, since I wasn't really able to do much cardio this month, & with it being Xmas, I'm pretty happy that I lost anything at all. :)

I just want to say a bit thanks to Joy for running this thread - & the exercise one - each month. I find it a good motivation tool & it keeps me honest & accountable. :cp:
