:cheer2:Thanks Joy for starting this thread again

I want in, but I don't know my starting weight yet; three days to go on the April, made that goal and seem to have dropped another. I will know in a day or two. I am down another lb as of this am, but noticed that I was partially dehydrated so not gonna count that yet.:bike:

Welcome in Richard :bravo:

OK, this is now the 30th, last day of April. I got another lb of loss making it 4 lbs for April, goal + 1
My starting weight for May will be 221.4 lbs.
Goal 3 lbs loss for 218.4 lbs.

Welcome, everyone!

I made my annual doctor's appointment last week for early August. If I can lose 1.5kgs (about 3 pounds) between now and then, I should show a loss of 10 pounds since my last appointment. So, I'm working toward that.

May goal: -0.5 kg

Thanks for keeping the group going Joy, I am in again for May. Today I was 149.8. My goal for May is 148. As I get closer to my goal it is definitely slow going!

gardenerjoy 05-04-2024 08:23 AM

I met my goal already. Ha! When I set my goal to lose a kilogram, I won't lose a half kilogram in a whole month! I'm going to set a bonus goal because I don't trust myself to maintain this loss all month unless I'm continuing to work on losing.

If I posted yesterday it would say I was down to 148.6 but today it was 149.4. I'm still below my goal! I know how it goes. Day to day you can up and down based on the previous days fiber, carbs, sodium, etc...

gardenerjoy 05-07-2024 05:54 PM

Yep, loganandlivsmom -- definitely ups and downs. I have no explanation for my recent scale readings because my food has been pretty consistent. The low reading came after a relaxed day and the high one after a stressful one -- so that might be a factor.

Hello all!

First of all, happy belated birthday gardenerjoy!! :hb:

I had a goal of a 1.8 pound loss for the month but I have managed to gain 2 pounds from my starting weight this month. Honestly (like I've said before) I am basically in maintenance vs. weight loss. For my height and weight to maintain what my "goal" of 145 is I'd have to only eat 1500 calories a day as sedentary. My job is sedentary and I work from home and do a lot around the house and yard when not working, but I don't officially exercise. Any more pounds lost at this point would be vanity pounds. From being a size 24 jeans in 2020 to a size 10 now, it's sort of unreal to me. I will still keep plugging away at writing down all my calories.

Does anyone else here follow calorie counting or do WW? Weight Watchers says you don't have to count the points (or calories) in fruit and veggies. If I don't count them then I end up gaining somewhat or not lose weight. I am vegan, but even vegans have their junk food and there are lots of vegan products in the stores now.

Good luck everyone. it's time for Memorial Day for us in the US and then before you know it, we have summer parties, graduations, weddings, etc...coming up. We can do this! :cheer2:

WendyWants2Change 05-26-2024 08:03 AM

loganandlivsmom I have done calorie counting, intermittent fasting & just about a month ago I started WW online. I was just thinking to myself last night that I need to find better protein sources because I have been hungry at night & while the fruit is filling not really sure it’s doing it for me. Memorial Day BBQs are going to be hard.

Slow…. But Down is DOWN, so I’ll take it.

WendyWants2Change and loganandlivsmom: I hope you enjoy your holiday gatherings! We're having a quiet weekend, but there's a birthday party for a 4-year-old next weekend that I want to consider how to handle.

How is everyone else doing this last weekend of May?

WendyWants2Change: an earlier post said you are looking for new sources of protein and are hungry at night. I had that problem as well. It took awhile to get used to the taste but I always keep a tub of fat free no sugar Greek yogurt in the fridge. I used to flavor it with sugar free powdered Jello or sugar free jelly but now I've trained myself to eat it plain. It is a great source of protein and I find it very filling. Sometimes if I'm heading to bed and feel a little hungry I just eat a big spoonful and that seems to do the trick. Also just a glass of no sugar added Almond Milk sometimes helps. Small handfuls of nuts are full of protein but high in calories; they do tend to have a lasting effect on me in terms of keeping hunger at bay.
Hope this helps. Regards....
