Good evening everyone:

logananmdlivsmom and KStrong, thanks for the warm welcomes. WOW KStrong, losing 120 pounds is an awesome accomplishment. Yes we are going to get rid of those 20 extra pounds we picked up!
L&L's Mom: congrats on your weight loss success and on keeping it off.
Wannabehealthy: How are you today?

I had another good day today. I tracked every bite I ate and ended up having 3 Pts left over for the day. My workout today was a 45 minute walk at Stone Mtn Park. I'm trying to mix up outdoor walking with Leslie Sansone and The Firm DVDs.

Enjoy your evening.

KStrong You are the sweetest thing! Thank you! Honestly, I wonder if I am "afraid" to gain weight back. Does that make sense? Back to pictures again...my mom did a big project with my daughter. She helped her scan ALL her photo albums. She digitized them and put them on flash drives. She gave us each a flash drive and our originals of pictures we might want like our school pics, etc...I saw a pic of me with my dad, grandma and my son when he was a baby. I had the ugg feeling again seeing my face. Why didn't I try this at a much younger age? Oh well. I am still proud and happy now but ugg the regret I sometimes feel.

GettinFit Thanks!! Keep up the good work, consistency pays off!

GettinFit - You are doing great!

L&L's Mom - I understand being scared. I have been, too.

I've now lost 2 inches in my waist and 1.5 in my hips.

Have a great weekend all!

Happy Saturday everyone:

KStrong: CONGRATULATIONS on your success this month. Taking your inches is a great idea and I think I will do that also. Yes, the WW plan has changed so much from the old days. I love the WW app now and how it tracks everything for me.

loganandlivsmom and Wannabehealthy: I hope you're having a nice weekend!

So far all is going well with me and I have gotten back into the zone. I have tracked everything I've eaten and continue to stay within my Points range. I've made some really healthy meals this week and have avoided sweets. I have done at least 1 workout every day since Monday. Sat and Sunday are usually my rest days but today I decided to go out and a 1 hour walk.

Hi everyone! Had a busy few days with my husband's birthday, a family baby shower and a "Christmas part two" with my sister's family (that was sick at Christmas). It was funny...they wanted to make it still seem like Christmas so the decorations are still up and the yard decorations as well. It would drive me crazy to keep them up this long! My weight is up now to 161, but I am not worrying about it. I know I can be below 160 again within a week or so. It was nice to get the "hey skinny" comments though. Me, skinny? LOL But yes, compared to two years ago I am actually.
KStrong You really have been excellent to lose those inches!! I think it's good you caught yourself going from the10's to tight 12's and not stay in denial any longer. I had an aunt tell remind me yesterday that she too had lost 100 pounds (many years ago) and when she stopped actually worrying about what she was eating she started gaining it back. I also know several people who've had gastric bypass gain their weight back!! Unfortunately, we will always have to track our intake or the weight will creep back up.
GettinFit I am glad you are back in the zone! That's what it really is a tracking zone, being aware of your intake and activity etc...I am impressed with the exercise and hour walk, wow!

Thanks y'all!

GettinFit - Great job on avoiding the sweets and doing all the things! Measuring is always a good backup plan for when the scale is ornery!

L&L's Mom - That is great that you got the 2nd Christmas, but I understand about the decorations.

Have a great week!

hello weight loss fam!

My weight has gone down now to 158. I figure I better post this today because tomorrow it could be 159 or 160. It does swing sometimes a pound or even two in one day though.

KStrong Congrats on the loss of inches! That is seriously impressive! I am glad you also track all your calories or like you said "weigh and measure everything that goes into my mouth." I am as always amazed by your exercise. You are for sure our exercise queen!

How are you Wannabehealthy, GettinFit and MrBadger?

L&L's Mom on the new low! I am glad that you reported it so we'll have a good record. I was looking back at the 2021 thread a few days ago back when I had finally gotten down to 159 and you were fairly recently getting down into the 190's, I think. You've come a long way "baby"! So happy for you!!! I wish I could have held on to your coattails but my body AND LIFE had other ideas. It is like we've switched places in just over a year.

AND Thanks L&L's Mom! I feel like exercise is the only thing I have control over these days as long as my joints don't fail me any worse. I'm sure I've said this before, but I'm a die-hard old school jotter and keep those cheap steno pads on my kitchen counter to log all intake even eye meds and OTC stuff after giving up on digital means repeatedly due to not always having the driest hands in my kitchen and my memory is terrible.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi everyone. In the days I've been absent I've turned a year older, went up 2 lbs and back down, so I'm right where I started from. I felt a little congested and thought I was getting sick again but now I'm ok. I've been eating too many carbs and not exercising. I WANT to do it but I just don't!

I feel so inadequate, but i will improve. I need to come here more often for a dose of inspiration.

Carol - Belated Happy Birthday! I'm amazed that y'all can come out of a birthday unscathed scale wise. Great job! Also if you aren't gaining weight you are winning!

morning all, hope everyone is doing well

start: 15st 11.75lb / 221.75lb (BMI 31.7)
target: 12st 7lb / 175lb (BMI 25.0)
target loss: 46.75lb

current: 15st 7.0lb / 217.0lb (BMI 31.0)
2023 loss: 4.75lb

2.75lb loss in the last fortnight. so I'm pretty happy about that, in spite of being completely sedentary with my damaged knee. that has pretty much healed now, so hopefully should be able to get out to do some exercise this weekend.

congratulations KStrong on your inches loss - that's a great achievement

Hello everyone:

I've also been MIA for a few days but I have been sticking to my WW plan and was down 2.2 pounds at my weigh in on Friday. I've also been diligent with my exercise.

KStrong: This is going to be our year! We've got this.
loganandlivsmom: Congrats on your weight of 158! Awesome job.
MrBadger: Congrats on your success as well.

It is so nice to see this thread so active! The 158 didn't just stay a day like I was joking, I have dropped down to 157.4 this morning. Honestly I am still eating VERY high fiber (some days up to 40 grams of fiber) and keeping the calories relatively high at maybe 1800 or 1900. I try to keep myself moving-doing things, staying busy so that helps too.

KStrong I am an "old school jotter" myself. LOL I literally write it on a piece of paper also including meds! I just have one med to take twice a day (anxiety med) but I will jot down I took it in case I forget "did I take this?" It becomes so routine you can be on auto pilot or something so yes I jot that down too! I do take melatonin and mark that I take that each night. I think that is also because it's become part of my jotting routine. I don't use food scales. but I do use LOTS of measuring cups. My daughter does too so we have several sets in use all the time. LOL
Thanks for all your praise, yes honestly I thought in the past I would be trying to catch up to you (but thought I would never do it) especially when you wanted to be in the 140's. I know you will get down to the 150's soon enough.
On the inches lost..dang 5 inches in one month is ah-mazing!! Your body is truly unreal!
Wannabehealthy Happy Belated Birthday! Aww, don't feel inadequate. At least you are trying and have maintained what you've already lost! It seems to me once we make this a habit of controlling the calories it gets much easier. Once we let it slide it does take effort to get back on track. You've got this!
MrBadger 4.75lb is awesome! You prove my theory most of our weight loss is calorie deficit. Excercise and activity helps burn more calories, but it's mostly the food intake. I know that is the case for me anyway!
GettinFit Thanks! And good job on your loss as well! Being diligent with the exercise is awesome!
