Momwannabe- We do, I've been here twice before lost over 100lbs each time. They say third time is a charm! It's gonna be a lifestyle not a diet and I am keeping this fat off! So can you!

So, 3 days in and 3 kgs down (6 and a half pounds, if I'm not mistaken). Wouldn't it be wonderful if that was how weight worked and I could confidentiality say those 3 kgs are gone for good. But the loss was following a fast day which means my "normal" eating day today will probably knock it back up. But hey, at least the numbers are moving in the right direction and I've put some distances between me and 200 pounds!!

How is everyone doing?

Pounds to go 47

I made my 1 lb loss this week. Actually 1.4 but I'm using whole pounds for simplicity.

I am so happy to see some long lost posters returning to the forum. Welcome back Buttercup and momwannabe. We might not be as busy here but we are still working hard to support each other.

We are all going to succeed!

L&L's Mom - You are a great Mom. I hope your kids appreciate that!

back Buttercup! I bet you lost a good bit of water weight before Day 6 doing Keto if you were eating Carby prior. I'm doing low carb and it makes me feel so much better.

Great job Momwannabe! I've done some extended fasting in the past and had good luck with it. I mainly did it for the autophagy so I need to do it more often. I do IF 20:4 most days so I'm probably getting minimal benefits but it keeps my hunger cues in check.

Carol - Congrats on the 1.4 this week! You are doing fabulous.

I lost 1.2 (net) pounds this week. It was slightly more a couple of days ago but the scale is a fickle beast!

Have a great weekend!

Kstrong, my loss was 2 lbs in the middle of the week but settled in at 1.4 by Friday. I am ok with that. I mainly want the 1 lb down per week. I've been known to do 20:4 a couple days a week but its hard every day with DH eating every 2 hours.

Great job on the losses, everyone! I didn't do so well today, so expecting some of the loss to disappear. But the point is averages, isn't it, so as long as we're going down, it's all good. I lose weight very slowly and usually with very limited calorie intake. So I need to cut to about 900 calories a day to lose. I am actually just not in a place where doing that on a daily basis is sustainable for me mental health right now! So I decided to try 2:5 and see how that works. It actually doesn't bother me to fast, but it bothers me to eat and stop eating. Today being a case in point: great morning, terrible afternoon / evening. I think it'll probably take some time to get settled into this way of eating. I also plan on cleaning up my diet on the non-fast days as I go along, but today was obviously a fail on that score! Will see what the scale says tomorrow. Shudder!!

Keep up the good work, everyone.

Carol - Both of my husbands ate whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and both stayed thin. It was so annoying!

Momwannabe - I hope the scale was kind to you! Your mental health and being able to function are the most important. This day to day up and down will drive you crazy if you let it, but the trend line going down helps. Patience is tough!

I've got a solid three weeks of on plan fairly strict eating under my belt. Although my scale isn't showing that the last few days, I feel good that I've behaved

Have a great week!

Momwannabe, eating then stopping is so hard for me, too, and probably for a lot of others. I try to wait as late in the day as I can to start for fear it will continue til bedtime.

Another problem I have is celebrating my losses, with food. I keep thinking I can have a cheat day after I weigh in but I cannot. I did it this week and I'm back up the pound I lost, so now I have to lose 2 to be on schedule for Friday weigh in. It's hard enough for me to lose 1 per week, let alone 2 in the next 3 days. Why do I do this to myself??

So I need to be 200 % on plan the rest of the week.

Well, this has been a bad week all around so I'm skipping my weigh in tomorrow. I know that's a bad decision, I should face up to my mistakes, but I just am not in the right frame of mind for it. I'm down, but not outl

I hope everyone has a better day today!

I'm also one of those that always rewarded with food. And I wonder why I was obese most of my life...

I'm with y'all on the easier to not eat than stop eating. That is why I've really embraced the IF lifestyle with low carb. My body has adjusted after so long eating this way but my mind still wants to snack in the evenings. I literally have to stop from getting out of the chair to mindlessly eat. I am not hungry but I have to keep reminding myself of that with the added warning that I'll have to face the scale the next morning. If I kept all of my favorite off plan snacks in the house, my mind wouldn't have a chance so I feel for you that live with folks that can eat whatever.

Down 1.7 this week to a new 2022 low this morning. After hanging up and down in the 165s for 9 days, I'm glad to be making downward progress again.

Have a great weekend!

Well, I did brave it and get on the scale this morning. Up 1.4. I know I have to see the damage I have done. It has really been an eating week!

Kstrong, when I was single I was very strict on my eating, plus I was too poor to have snack food in the house. Once I paid my bills there wasn't much left. I would no more buy potato chips than buy rat poison. And I exercised regularly. DH and I have discussed this. He said that he should not have to do without just because I can't eat things. In a way, he's right. I should want only healthy food in my body. I don't have to eat crap because he does. It would be best for him to eat healthier, too. I should have married a healthy eater but I had other things on my mind at the time!

So I am going to fast today until dinner. Good for you on the great loss!

Wannabehealthy I wanted to say I know it's not easy to come on here and say that you've gained. I think it's good though, it lets others see weight loss isn't just an easy slide down. Just keep in your calorie range and journaling your food. I know you can do this and reach your goal this year!

KStrong Congrats again on your new low and thanks for the kind words. My kids are great, I am truly blessed. I have two kids 9 years apart and two step kids. We had a busy house when they were all young.

I am like the rest of you all with it's easier to not eat tempting food than to eat it and stop. I don't buy chips but my daughter loves them and gets them. It sure can trigger my brain to want a LOT of them. I tell myself to count them and write down the calories before I even eat it. LOL I also have been sort of doing IF without realizing it. Most of my eating is from noon to maybe 7 or 8 pm at the latest. Usually before noon all I have is coffee.

Loganandlivsmom, my friend started cutting carbs to improve her diabetes. She cut back gradually til her blood sugar went down, and ended up losing 40 lbs. She loves her carbs and would count out 17 pretzels because that’s what the package said was a serving.

I am like everyone else who stays away from a forum because they gained. I tell other people to just shake it off and get back on plan but can’t apply that to myself. But I want to continue on on this thread. I was waiting til January so I could start and I don’t want to fail.
