Happy Vegangiving! (My daughter Olivia's term for our Thanksgiving)
Yes I am up very early, partly because I am always up early and partly to get some more things done for today. I would normally be working, so I am VERY thankful I am not working today. My weight has gone down to 162. Hopefully after today and the leftovers it doesn't bounce up too much afterwards. I have been in the 162's in the past few days and 162.0 yesterday and today.
KStrong Your trophy jar comment literally made me laugh our loud! I even told my husband and he laughed at that! I am glad you only have on plan foods in the house! Out of sight, out of mind!

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanks or Vegan-giving! We are getting much needed rain today so it is a good excuse to get out all the holiday decorations finally.
L&L's Mom - WTG on getting that little bit of water weight back off! I know you were just a tad lower at your lowest so I know you are thrilled. You continue to amaze and inspire me.
I did my three days of lifting last week and walked on any day that wasn't raining. Weds it was actually misting, but I still got in two miles before the sky fell out since the temps were mild.
I stayed completely on plan last week and kept my calories in line but I'm still holding water weight for some reason. I'm going to be extra good and meticulous with my calorie counting along with avoiding the adult beverages to see if I can shake something loose. I don't want to get used to weighing this much!!!
Have a great weekend!

I have not been on the scale since Thursday morning. Really, how much could I have gained? I just don't want to see it.
Hubby is sick. He came home from his, daughters after Thanksgiving dinner not feeling well. I thought he just over ate but yesterday he had a slight fever and is achy. I think its a cold or the flu because he has no headache or sore throat. Just very tired. He is normally very active. I hope I don't get it.
L&Lsmom, I would give anything to weigh 162. I say that, but obviously I won't do what is necessary to reach that weight. Good job!
Kstrong, good for you doing your exercise. You will probably get a drop on the scale, soon.

How has it been 5 days since I've posted? Once again weight loss wise it's the basic roller coaster. I was 162, and then Friday It was 162.6 then the next day 162.4 and then 161.6. Today 164 again!! I know it's the same old same old...more sodium than normal and with that less fiber, etc...162 or 161 will be my weight within the week again.
KStrong Thanks as always for your support and kind words!! All of your exercise and dedication to the calorie watching is admirable. I know many would just give up and that is why weight loss stats are so depressing. Unfortunately I guess the scale won't be our friend no matter how hard we try?
Wannabehealthy Thanks for your support as well! I like the way that you are real. You said you'd give anything to weigh this but obviously not really...I know what you mean...it reminds me of a meme I saw that said "I'd do anything to lose weight..except eat healthy and work out." It's going to be a lifetime battle for most of us.
I hope your husband is doing better and it's just the flu.

Carol, I hope everyone at your house is feeling good!
L&Ls Mom - I think you have mastered your scale pretty well! Staying within 2-3 lbs of your lowest and maintaining a healthy weight is a total WIN! Especially since you have been so smart about the entire process. You should probably write a book about the correct way to lose weight and keep it off!
Tomorrow is a new month y'all. I suggest everyone measure even if it is just the waist and hips. Let's do this!

Unfortunately DHs illness turned out to be Covid and he shared it with me. We had a few rough days that were spent in bed but we're starting to improve. I'm ok as long as I keep taking Tylenol and I think he is taking Alka seltzer Plus Cold Medecine. The silver lining is I lost 5 lbs.

Hi everyone! No new weight loss to report as the roller coaster continues, but truly I am OK with it. Nothing like the young me who would eat the barely 1200 calories a day, not lose and then eat like crazy the next day with the "why even try?" mindset.
Thursday was my aunt's funeral. She was only 65 but died of lung cancer. She quit smoking years ago, but I guess that doesn't matter with cancer. I went and when my extended family (who I only see it seems at weddings and funerals) saw me it was crazy like mouth dropped open responses!! They haven't seen me in over two years so they are expecting 2X-3X me not medium-large me. It was seriously amazing. One uncle asked if I had the "snip snip" meaning surgery?? Wow! I wasn't offended he really thought I had! I told him no, just counting calories. LOL I think the next few weeks if I want too many calories my mind will go back to that afternoon.
Wannabehealthy I am sorry to hear it was Covid but glad you are both improving, what a hard way to lose weight, huh? Take care of yourself!
KStrong You are the sweetest, I can't imagine writing a book...here is the whole book "OK figure out how many calories you need to maintain your current weight and eat less than that." The End. LMAO
You are an exercise champ for sure, I am truly impressed!

Good morning all!
Just a quick drive by to say it seems the scale roller coaster is headed down again, yay! It was 162.4 then 162.6 and today 162.4 again, so it seems to be staying in the 162 range now. As I get closer to 160 I still think I would like to get a bit lower (mid 150's maybe)? Two years ago seriously I would say even being 199 is the ultimate I could even hope for. I feel blessed!

DH is better but I am still lingering. Weight is down to 178.8 but I don't expect it to stay there as I was 180.0 yesterday. I have had less than 1000 calories every day since 11/27. My. appetite is slow to return.
L&L'smom, I can remember when I wanted to get to and stay below 200. I bounced in and out of Onederland for months. I now have fought the 180s and would not be below if I wasn't sick.
Kstrong I agree you are the exercise queen.

I am happy to report I am down to 161.4! I am cautiously optimistic that I might be able to actually get to 160 by 12/31. It's 1.4 pounds in 3 full weeks so it's do-able! I know the holidays are here as well though. Luckily we really don't have as many parties and get- togethers to go to like in years past so there is much less temptation there.
Wannabehealthy It's been a few more days, I hope you are back to 100% now! I guess it goes without saying to make sure you are taking vitamins, eating lots of veggies, etc...and build your immunity up.
KStrong Hey, how are you doing? Hoping "no news is good news."

Good morning!
Carol - I hope you are much better by now. I know you didn't want to lose weight that way, but I hope your appetite is back and you still were able to keep the new numbers.
L&L's Mom - I'm so sorry about your aunt!
I hope everyone has a great week!

Unfortunately I've not been taking my vitamins or eating vegetables. The only thing that appeals to me is carbs. The fact that I'm eating so low calorie has kept me losing. But I have to watch now, because my appetite is coming back and I've regained 3 lbs. I cannot let myself regain all this I've lost.
Kstrong,I can't believe you hare both foot and shoulder pain but still keep up the exercise! I am so quick to look for an excuse! You are my hero, both you and L&L'sMom , the way she sticks to her weight loss!
In just a couple weeks we will be starting the new year and I want to do so much better!

Good morning! Today my weight is 161.2. My last report was exactly a week ago, at least it's basically the same. Once again it depends on the day..it can vary up to two pounds in one day! Yesterday it was 163.2. My calories were 1600 yesterday but I know the day before that was higher sodium and fiber. I say this in case others are reading to not worry about just one day's report. It WILL vary day to day even if we are being "perfect."
Wannabehealthy I hope you are getting back to normal now, maybe just make yourself take those vitamins and add veggies to your carbs. My favorite way to have cooked vegetables is roasted. Yum! I try to get LOTS of fiber each day. It not only keeps us regular, but it makes you feel full longer so you are less likely to overeat later in the day. Thanks for your praise! Honestly I think I'm sticking with this because I never want to go back. I have literally been overweight my whole life from just a little overweight all the way up to 310 in 2000. Mostly I have been in the mid 200's range like I was when I started this last time two years ago. I just love the feeling of seeing myself as a size 12-14 vs 24. I just feel better about myself and don't want that to stop.
KStrong Thanks, It is amazing how long smoking can damage the lungs! I have seen commercials recently and it said if you've stopped smoking in the past 15 YEARS you can get this test to check your lungs for early signs of cancer. It's hard to imagine that someone could have stopped that long ago and still have to worry about it.
Thanks for your support as well! You know since you've been doing this so much longer, like I said to Wannabehealthy, I just feel so much better about myself every time I just look in the mirror. I don't want to go back!! I'm sorry you are dealing with pain. Amazingly you keep exercising. I know many would use that as an excuse not to. You are the real MVP! I still don't exercise honestly. I keep super busy with things around the house and we do walk around stores while my daughter is in her dance classes, but still no "official" exercise like you do. I am glad you are tracking your calories and know you are doing the right thing that way. Somethings gotta give soon! Like you said your calories are good and you are getting more than enough activity, maybe it really is the carbs and alcohol? So frustrating, I am sure!
