Had cake last night that was about to go bad, so probably not the loss I could have had but still a small loss from the day before! I need to be more diligent about night time snacking, I think it makes a difference to my weight loss if I stop eating after dinner. I did do an Insanity yesterday which I'm proud of, it was a lot of planks and push ups which are the absolute WORST but I made it through!

darius - Yay on the whoosh!! It definitely makes you rethink eating sodium, doesn't it? I definitely am more conscious of what I'm eating knowing the number on the scale will be affected. However, sodium retention shouldn't be a reflection of your hard work! Maybe try measuring yourself too since measurements tend to be more forgiving and show results first

Had a couple of drinks last night during my virtual D&D session, but still got a nice small drop this morning! I'm guessing the week will end in the 195's, which is a gain for me overall, but given it was my birthday weekend I'm not going to get down about it. I feel myself getting stronger which I'm stoked about! Happy weekend everyone

Well the week after my birthday was a slow and steady decline but wasn't quite enough to bring me back to the previous weeks weight but that's ok! I've got some things to work on mainly:
- Keeping up with exercise and walks
- Not eating/drinking anything other than water after dinner
Today I weighed a nice 193.2 lbs which is more in line with what I feel so I'm happy! Fingers crossed this week will be productive. The weekend was extremely indulgent since it was my friends birthday (two birthday weekends, phew) so we had pizza Saturday. Yesterday the bf wanted Chinese so I had a lot of sesame chicken. I'm surprised my weight was as low as it is haha.

Hope y'all are doing well!

Hey Riestrella, JenyReddy and SlimmerMe - you all have made terrific progress! I hope to have some good numbers to post this coming Friday - my weight really fluctuates; i retain water like some farm animal.
But I am eating on plan and the numbers do keep going down.
I am a type II diabetic right? and last night I had a scare. I checked my blood sugar last night around 8 pm and it was 77 so I thought well OK I will ok until morning.
And then during the 9PM Compline service on my church's Facebook Live, right aroudn 9:15 i started feeling really nauseous and I checked my blood sugar and it was 61.
I hurried up and had some cereal and milk. the only carbohydrates i have in the house except some raw potatoes and rice crackers.
I need to buy me some Capn Crunch cereal or something at the grocery store so I will have some emergency sugar if this happens again. I don't know why it would suddenly drop like that at night, and I was not under stress.
You all have a good week!

Had a bit of a snack attack last night immediately after dinner, was not good. Glad it didn't affect my weight! I did do an Insanity workout before dinner so must have worked up an appetite.

darius - Sorry to hear about the scare Always good to have some emergency sugar on hand for those situations.

JenyReddy - Your picture attached, those fruits look amazing! Oh I am so envious of your banana tree, bananas are the only fruit I can eat daily I love them so much. Costa Rica looks like a beautiful place! Congrats on your loss as well, you're doing an amazing job.

I was worried that I was gaining, so this is good. But that also means that with just a little more effort, tightening up some habits that I've let get a little loose, might result in some more loss. I'm going to attempt to re-establish a daily weighing habit. I think I'm in a good mental space to see it as simply data that helps me make good decisions.

April goal: Maintain at or below 90.7 kgs

Slowly, very slowly, starting to realize that what I eat has more significance than when I was younger. I always thought that exercise is what helped me lose weight, but looking back to when I lost weight before I was also being careful about what I ate. I think I'm giving myself excuses about why I can eat indulgently, "I worked out today! I deserve a treat." Seems like an obvious lesson but these weight loss journey's are all different aren't they? Even though I'm super proud of how on top of it I've been with exercise, I need to start focusing harder on what I shove in my mouth. I don't want to create a huge restrictive plan, but knowing that I need to be aware of it is a good first step.

Riestrella: Good thinking! I'm still working through this, too, but I think the best thing I get from exercise is a mood-boost, not calorie burn. A better mood helps me be more willing to figure out what it's going to take with food consumption to get the results I want.

Hello everyone; today is my Friday weigh-in day.
I am not going to make my goal this month - but I am glad I am moving downwards.
I weigh every morning but the water fluctuations are so disheartening.
Riestrella,JennyRedy, and Slimmer Me thanks for your words of encouragement.

Even though I'm not losing, I'm happy I'm not gaining either! I'm coming on my period so that always throws a wrench into the works. This weekend is really relaxed for me, no birthdays, no excessive eating! Huzzah!

gardenerjoy - It's true, exercise is a huge mood boost! I've noticed I'm a lot more positive about things than before.

darius - Have you considered using average weights? It really helps me! I feel my average weekly weights are an accurate representation of my efforts rather than the daily ups and downs on the scale.

After agreeing with Riestrella that exercise doesn't help that much (directly) with my weight loss, I think it did this weekend. I did three days of yoga with lots of muscle-building poses. Plus, two of the days I added a bunch of walking, dancing, and stretching -- a total of 85 minutes of exercise on Friday and 90 minutes on Sunday. I woke up exhausted this morning! That level of exercise might be sustainable, but I'll need to build up to it.

Good afternoon - i reached minus 30 lb today overall! I'm very glad about that. I am almost 1/3 of the way to my minus 100 lb goal.
Great job gardenerjoy! Thank you Riestrella I like the idea of average weights too.
