That's the highest number I've seen for a while. I missed taking my meds twice this week, and I think that may have been why I was so very snacky yesterday. So some of that gain is probably legit gain. Such is life, today is a new day.

Nice little loss today - very encouraging. I've been doing more gardening and house cleaning so I'm a lot more active than I have been.

I'm feeling relieved to get through Week One unscathed and with a decent loss. I was worried that I'd be fighting chocolate cravings but I haven't at all. My energy is really high and I'm waking up early wanting to get things done. Hopefully I can keep it going through the summer to get the garden sorted out.

No time to really post much right now. I'm smack dab in the middle of my busy time at work and heading in today for most of the day on my day off. Going through my fairly typical weight bump leading to the 10th. Apparently, I am a stress-retain-water-er as well as a stress-eater.

Skullarix and ByeBye: Hiii, and welcome!

Newlyn: Yes! It is very much like being a haze when we fall into the trap of mindless snacking, taking our cravings way too far, or just becoming unmotivated to do much of anything. The groggy, lethargic feeling of eating without mindfulness or intention definitely dulls the decision-making center of the brain, for sure...lol. Happy to be snapping back out of it, as well! Nice loss, by the way!

Sgregg: I agree...studying and working on projects are just as big triggers as the late night snacking for me, as well! Being back in school has been a big adjustment this past year, and -- while I've been doing well academically -- I have been floundering in the self-care department. Also, two more weeks!!? You're almost there now! Best of luck with your paper!! I hope you're able to make it through with minimal salty snacks, lol.

Darius: Hi Darius! Glad we're both back and getting back on track now.

Lacerta: I hope you're able to get your medication back in order and that this week is less of a struggle with the snacky feelings.

----------------------------------

So, Week One wasn't a fruitful week overall, but -- despite what it looks like -- I have been making mental progress. I've actually been doing great during the day, staying completely on-track and am often times even under my expected calorie range by the evening. However, it's the late night snacking that's still getting the better of me some days. I'm changing up my approach this coming week and hoping that I can stop or at least control the nighttime mini-binges...pre-prepping more veggies (fruits are always on hand, and I will keep that up as well), restocking on my favorite low cal snacks, drinking more water, switching it up some nights and doing other things together rather than just watching TV or movies, etc. I've been more active this week as well, and I even opted to walk to the smaller market that is just less than a mile from our house today to pick up a few items instead of driving to the big store across town like I normally would. Little things are starting to fall back into place that are making me feel more like "me", and for that I am glad. Fingers crossed that the snack prep and alternative activities will help the last puzzle piece (not binging at night) fall back into place, as well!

OpheliaPhoenix - I need to be better prepared for unexpected hunger episodes - better prepared mentally and also have some kind of snacking plan. things to snack on etc. I do really well on diets for a while - I can lose 60 lbs but then I stop and over a year put it all back on. I have done that more than once

I had very salty bacon yesterday. That's all I think of to explain the gain, although the scale does need new batteries.
I've done 117 active minutes in the garden today (of 144 minutes overall) and my shoulders and wrists are aching from digging and taking out plants and weeds. There's still a lot to do but at least the rest won't be full of bulbs, especially tiny wild onion bulbs that spread everywhere.

*Edited to change the number of active and total minutes. I went outside to put the tools away and ended up doing another 46 minutes.
