Newlyn, tabbycat & dream, you are all off to a great start with impressive winter milage. I take a morning walk, but then have to force myself to move this time of the year. I get a pat on the back for doing a half hour exercise DVD this morning and hitting my 10,000 steps a day goal yesterday and will achieve today as well. My first three days (all day tracking) total 11.7 miles.
Keep Moving!

I'm aiming for 910 miles/year, which is 70 miles/month.
1: 2.79 miles (from Fitbit)
2: 3.1 miles
3: 3.8 miles
4: 1.55 miles
Pitiful distance yesterday. I was taking down Christmas decorations and doing paperwork for my dad so there wasn't a lot of activity. I'll try and do MUCH better today!
Hi Everyone, I'd like to join in with you on this journey. So far in 2019, I've hit my daily step goal on FitBit every day. Now before the crowd goes wild, my goal is only 5500/day and have done about 28 miles(Sad face). I have traveled so much for work the last almost 7 years, I've gained almost 50 lbs and driving/flying/computer work have really taken a toll on my fitness! My hips never want to work anymore when I stop the car and first get out. I end up at night so tired (I've ended up walking in place just to finish my goal before bed) My hours each day vary so much that any thoughts, encouragement, etc, is greatly appreciated! If you made it this far, thanks for reading it!

workinglikeadog, I've had some tendon problems over the past few months, so bad it was suspected to be fractured, so I'm just being careful with it when I can and wearing shoes for overpronation.

I figure that even if my walking is terrible, if I keep posting, I won't lose the habit.

fuzzy, and to this thread! A goal of 5,500 steps/day sounds fantastic for someone who's life is busy with driving/flying/computer work. Don't be sad about 28 miles for the year, you keep going girl. And I'm impressed that you care enough to get your walking steps in before bed. I sure like it when my fitbit makes a big deal when I hit my daily goal. One day at a time

Sorry to hear you have tendon problems, sounds painful. Would an indoor bike be easier on your tendon when needing to get some miles in for the day? Or maybe swimming? Just want to keep you moving.

workinglikeadog, thanks for the support! The pain comes and goes, as if somethin is moving inside, so yesterday it was fine and I could walk further. I don't have space for an indoor bike unfortunately, although I'm organizing my parents' garage and I might when that's done. I've also got a rowing machine in storage so I might get that out when there's more space. I'd like to swim but the schedules at our local pools have been taken over by school groups, even at private gyms, so it's very difficult to find a time to go when it's not full of kids. I'll keep going with walking - it sometimes feels better with activity so...
dream710 gosh, I'm sorry! I hadn't seen that you'd asked about my foot - I'm so rude! Thanks for asking about it.
