Back in the early days (like about 3 months ago!) it was because of daily weigh-ins posted here like yours Nicoley, that made me realise that these ups and downs were totally normal. I was really comforted to see them from so many people and then it made me not worry about them happening to me - i.e. I came to realise that if I just stuck to my plan then the weight would tow the line eventually even though there was the occasional kicking and screaming session along the way. I guess we all know this really, but this site was great for real evidence of how it happened for different people, and over what timescales and by how much etc! So thanks all, for sharing

I got my cross examination yesterday! It's done!! I also found some clues in the evidence that had previously been overlooked that really helped us with a sticky point, so it all went well and I didn't get any curly unexpected ones. Yep, it was stressful alright - I've been dreading this all year, but in the end it wasn't too bad (and helped by doing my homework on it!) Just need to wait for the judge now.....

Weight the same.

kfun - re hills. I HATE hills. My screen shot is a hill and bike with the saying "Its just a hill - get over it." There is one hill that I had to do the walk of shame when I was 200+. I still have a picture on my phone of me sitting in the middle of it taking a break. A home owner came out and asked if I needed anything. LOL - I asked him if he could take off 50 pounds of me. The following year, I lost that 50 pounds! I gained back 15, which I am working to get off again, but I can get up the hill without stopping now. It still isn't easy and I HATE IT, but I can get over it now.

I look at a 12 pack case of coke and it weights 10 pounds. When I think of carrying around those extra pounds of cases on my *** before I lost the weight...no wonder I couldn't get up the hill.

Momtopands Nice job staying on track through stress. I would totally come help you with your garden if I were closer. 😊

Ange82much Woo hoo, goal is inches away! Hope everything goes well in court and the scale welcomes you back.

Kfunk6113 Mmm, chips and salsa. I didn’t think about sodium and water retention, that may have contributed to a couple of my stalls. Sodium, not chips and salsa. I’ll have to look at my intake correlated with weight. I haven’t been eating chips, but my packaged salads are fairly high in sodium. This requires additional research.

Nicoley73 Don’t give up, you got this. Can you try and figure out which restaurants you might go out to and plan possible meals ahead of time? Might be hard to want to plan if you just got done with night school, but that’s the only way I can do it and not feel like I’m blowing my plan.

Ophelia Biking makes me feel like a kid again. You need a bike! Biking is the only time I can drink as much water as you. Lol.

Nightowlrn Tour bike on gravel?! That sounds like an accident for me. When I was riding before, I would lose a lb or two per 40-mile ride. Now when I ride I don’t lose. And I’m eating much less and much healthier. I haven’t figured out the formula yet, but I will. How did you get back on the bike after day one, much less day three?? Ha ha.

Chunkah Socializing is my problem too – eating and talking and drinking and eating more and drinking more.

Allergies are kicking back up and I've been itchy, sneezy and tired all week. I usually get a burst of energy on Thursdays, but it's not happening. Planning to ride on Sunday before my Mother's Day brunch. I really did plan my meal already and I cannot wait. Must be dinnertime, because I can't stop talking about food. Lol.

Hi,
I just joined this forum today because I was hoping to find a thread like this & would love to join! I am currently 176.2 and want to make 7 lbs my goal by 6/1 because that would get me into the 160s.
I lost 130 lbs in 2007-08 and maintained a weight that fluctuated between 138-148 until about 2 years ago. I am having a hard time getting the scale to move down more than a few lbs (& then I gain it all back+). I am hoping the support and check-ins enable me to be more consistent, make more and maintain more progress. For now, my goal overall goal is to get back to 138. That wasn't an ideal weight for me, but I figure I will get back to where I was and then take it from there.
Thank you,

Hi CoolChickie and welcome!
Your story sounds oh so familiar! Wow, 130lb off in 2007 is pretty impressive. At least you know you can do it and you're practiced, so can do it even better this time around.
I started my journey this year and felt like it was impossible, but i'm really there now (about 35lb off) and time has whizzed, so that looks to be about the same sort of amount that you want to lose to get to 138. It was easy once I got going - the hardest bit is buckling down for the first couple of weeks to get in to routine. And then keep going. Easy! Done!

Gardenerjoy- nice drop!!

Ange- I needed to read your post this morning, thank you! So glad that your cross examination is over with and that it wasn’t as bad as you were expecting… I love getting stuff that I dread done and over with, it feels so good!

Momtopands- I am right there with you with the bounce up, hopefully our bodies adjust soon!

Nightowlrn- What a huge accomplishment, I can’t imagine how thrilled you were when you realized that you could make it up without stopping!!!

Snowmama- Most of my stalls (that aren’t self-induced) go back to water retention, or just normal fluctuations that occur during the month. I love chips and salsa, but one serving is only 7 chips, but at least they are big! I hope that you get some relief from your allergies, my husband has been suffering from them as well, they seem to get worse every year.

Coolchickie- Welcome to 3FC!!! Wow, 130 lbs. is amazing!! This website has made a world of difference for me, I hope that you find the same thing is true for you.

Flower- Thank you! You are close to a new decade too!!

Thanks for all the encouragement! I'm starting to head back down again - hopefully I will see a 147 some time this week.

Ange - that was exactly what I was telling myself - that it might take a while, but I will overall lose weight if I keep doing what I'm doing.

We are going camping this weekend - I'm very excited. We will go on a day canoe trip and bring the new puppy - I'm hoping she likes to swim. So I won't be weighing until Monday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome Chickie !!!! Wow, what an accomplishment and that you essentially maintained it for so long. I love the challenges here and the folks to cheer each other on. I dropped out for a year because....well... a life that required alcohol and eating out to survive it. I gained 25 back. Boo. That ordeal has now passed and I am back at it.
