ange Wow, you are on fire!!! Have you been doing anything differently to explain your amazing results?! I hear you on the fitness, that is definitely on the list of "to-dos" for me. The diet part is going well, but not the exercising part. I am a bit disappointed because this month is going to end up being a wash for me, feels like I wasted a bunch of time and that is all because the 30th and 1st of the month I derailed in a spectacular fashion, and it doesn't help that tonight is one of my planned "cheat" meals.

flower Thank you! How have you been doing the past couple days?

Tonight is my daughters friend bday party so I will be eating pizza and popcorn. I also have a piece of cheesecake for desert. The last time I made cupcakes it went very badly (and I don't really love cupcakes) so I decided to get a piece of cheesecake because I love it and hopefully it will help me stay away from all the other junk. I plan to eat very light leading up to dinner time and stick to foods that have 0 points.

Went off plan yesterday but not terribly. Pretty sure I'm retaining water - my eyes are all puffy. My dietbet ends on Sunday so I need to be strict until then - which is super hard with the weekend. Do they make the weigh-in on Sunday on purpose????

Thanks kfunk! Actually my weight loss has been really consistent since I started in January - I plot the result on a graph every time I weigh in and it's amazingly linear! But I am losing faster than I ever have historically, which I put down to 1) consistency with my low cals (haven't had days off or splurges or sweet stuff or white carbs at all) and have averaged less than 900 cals per day since January, and 2) Haven't been hungry, so it's been easy- and that's due to i)the diet choices i.e. plenty of protein, good fats and heaps of veggies and salads and ii) not doing loads of exercise - previously I've been pretty fit, gym, running etc every day, and that makes me hungry!! Not that I recommend being more sedentary but it definitely makes you happier to eat less! I've also got a friend who's doing even better than me who started at the same time, so we've been motivating each other too, which is great.

ange you're doing great! Maintenance is just around the corner! I do like seeing my clothes looser, however no shopping for me(I really hate it anyway) i'm just going to dig out my smaller clothes I haven't been able to fit in forever! I've always had denim skirts that I love i'll be getting back into those! It will be like getting a new wardrobe!

kfunk Thanks, I hope my whoosh comes soon too. I hope you get some downward movement soon as well!

I am back to my new decade today. Hoping I can keep it this time!

Momtopands Yay for smaller clothes! Although I’m diligent with the scale watching, what really makes me happy is my clothes. I’m with you on the new wardrobe – hope you find some “new” clothes this weekend!
Ange82much Nice work! I’m on the same page as you, I think it’s easier without the splurges or days off or the rest. I’m gradually increasing activity, but previously I cut calories and way increased activity at the same time and my body didn’t know what to do. I was a mess.
Kfunk6113 One or two days don’t spoil a whole month. You didn’t gain all month, your body is probably finding it’s new normal before starting the downward journey again. Don’t beat yourself up! I’m totally impressed by where you are right now, I would be very happy to see your numbers on my scale.
Nicoley73 You’re in the 40s! Congrats. I’m starting to like the weekends, because I have more time to prep a variety of food. Just a couple more days, you got this.
Flower1 How many miles do you try for a day? Are you walking every day? See you on the May challenge!
Ophelia Hope you’re having a good end of the week! I’m sure the water intake will help you get to your goal this month. I don’t know how you do it.

SnowMama: You asked my secret for losing weight while traveling and eating out: I’m doing OMAD (one meal a day), and this is a significant advantage of OMAD. Since I don’t eat breakfast, lunch or snacks, I can have a real dinner every day. At home I have the protein, vegetables and salad, and a glass of wine. When traveling, I indulged more: an occasional dessert, some bread, an after dinner drink.
I actually did not lose while traveling, but I didn’t gain more than a pound, which I consider success.

Catching up for the last 4 days, before the month ends tomorrow...I had a random spike back up and have been having pre-cycle symptoms that have been intense enough that I even took a pregnancy test yesterday. It was negative, so I'm guessing I'm just having extra bloating and soreness/swelling than usual, which makes the gain make sense. Still regrettable though, since - by week's end - I ended up showing no loss at all. At least I was able to get the gain back down and ended up zeroing out yesterday. I only got in exercise a couple days this week due to all the bloating and discomfort, so that's probably at play, as well. I got back to last weekend's weight of 182.4 today, so I'm hoping that - if I don't see a loss tomorrow - I will at least be able to hold this weight so I can show a round number loss for the month. Fingers crossed!

I will post my end of month update tomorrow and then catch up on personals once we get going on the next thread!

I made my diet bet goals, but since bounced back to apparently what is my comfortable weight. Six lbs down for the month - so I am pretty happy. I'm joining another dietbet - so my goal for the next month will be a little more than six pounds again.

Hope to see everyone next month!
