ange I am so excited for you that you gained an extra day and can relax and enjoy your knitting!!!

Today should be easy for me. After work I will go grocery shopping and then get home and clean for my daughter’s family birthday party tomorrow. I will send home leftover cake and cupcakes with our family so that I don’t binge on them like in the past. I haven’t decided if I am going to even have one at all. Sunday might be dicey because we will be on the road all day celebrating Mother’s Day with our moms and my grandma.

I hope that everyone has a great Friday!!! (Saturday by now for you Ange)

kay I hope by now you are over the worst of it and are starting to feel better

I think all of the exercises that you are doing will definitely help you when it comes to loose skin!!

My plan was shot to S**t this weekend, but today is a new day and I will succeed, there is no other option.

I had a very busy weekend and didn't have time to post, coincidently went way off the tracks simultaneously, but that alone would not have kept me from popping in!

This weekend is going to be harder than usual considering it is a holiday weekend. Anybody have a picnic planned? We don't have anything planned, but we will probably have hotdogs, burgers, baked beans and potato salad on Monday, but it will just be the two of us. We aren't really big on celebrating. Nobody every wants to come to our house because we are too boring! LOL That doesn't make me mad though. Entertaining is really a lot of work and leaves you with clean up. I just love to relax. My married step-children like to say home so they can drink without worrying about driving. Makes sense. We don't drink, which makes us even more boring. LOL

carol We are going to a birthday party today and then will just grill at home with the four of us the other days. I am not sure what they are serving at the bday party, but I am bringing a salad. It has lettuce, green onions, tomato, parm cheese, garbanzo beans, some salami, and another type of cheese. YUM! I also am going to try to stay away from the cake. I will eat fruit and vegetables if they have them. In a little bit I plan on eating some scrambled eggs with salsa and will drink my coffee. I am not sure what I will eat when I get home, but hopefully bringing the salad will help me.

We BBQ'd with my inlaws a couple of weekends ago and I had 1 brat, some tuna salad, fruit and some veggies. I went back for seconds with the tuna salad, but definitely did not over do it. I tracked my points in the WW app. even though I went over. Maybe if you just take an approach like that you will be okay. I tried not to deprive myself of what I wanted. A couple years ago I would have probably had a second brat and would have grabbed a bunch of the potato chips. Forward progress!

I think we will probably get together with my inlaws at some point this weekend as well and that will probably involve another meal. We do have quite a bit to do outside in the yard though.

Kfunk, it sounds like you are doing very well with WW at your parties and BBQs. Does WW still allow weekly points that you can use in a case like that if you over a little? The fact that you are comparing to what you would have done is a plus and shows that this is helping you to make positive lifetime changes. That's what it's all about, girlie!! I love brats on the grill but I rarely buy them because DH doesn't like them. It's probably just as well because I would eat way too many. Once they are cooked and sitting right there in front of me I might as well eat them. LOL

carol Thank you! Yes, they still have weekly points for special occasions thank goodness! I did not track points this weekend like I should have, but I made soooo many positive changes that I am calling it a win!! Thank you for your encouragement!!

How did your weekend wrap up?

I know you're all desperate to hear how my knitting's going - well I finished the back last night (for the second time). That's after I finished the front a few days ago, then decided the whole thing was too long and ripped it back, and then had to rip back the back. That's after I decided to tweak the sizes and knit the front bigger than the back. Then I decided to miss out a section of decreasing stitches, then I didn't understand the weird cast-off instructions so just did it normally. It's going to be very interesting to see how this thing ends up! Uncertain whether it's a bit too short now!!! Sleeves next. Did I mention I don't like the neck on the pattern much so will invent my own as i'm going along. Normally I find a pattern and just knit it, so don't know where all this tweaking is going to get me.
This is what life comes to when you have a knee injury.....

ange I love your humor in your posts, I wish I could meet you in real life!! You have the patience of a saint, I think I would have given up by now, how frustrating!! You will definitely need to post pictures of the final product! By the way, how is your knee doing?

thanks kfunk, the spare room's available - get planning your Sydney visit

Actually the jumper is chunky, and short (I think I mentioned that!) so not excessive amounts of effort to change it around - not like knitting some 4-ply lacy thing, so i'm making it sound more dramatic than it is. Yep, will post a pic when it's done. I really have no clue if it's going to fit because the wool i'm using is totally different to what the pattern says, and the design is a big cable which makes the whole thing really stretchy so I really can't tell if it's going to be too small or too big. Chances of it being the right size are fairly remote. It could be a funny photo.

My knee is really frustrating. I'm doing all my physio exercises which is strengthening the muscles around the knee, which all makes sense, but it feels like this is just covering up for the problem and not fixing the underlying pain. So I guess I should go back to the Dr and demand an MRI and then go to a knee specialist, and check that what i'm doing is the best I can do (it's never been imaged, just diagnosed by dr and physio). I just hate going to doctors and stuff (and spending the money!), so I keep putting it off, and hoping it will improve, which it is, but very slowly.

Hope you all don't mind be joining this weekend thread! I have been falling off track these past few days and i'm in need of some support as I go into this weekend, my first back since my daughter was hospitalized. So far today i'm back on track except for exercising. My right knee has been bothering me and yesterday I had trouble getting up and down a single flight of stairs. I hate to have to stop my exercise since that throws me off every time and it's always been my knees that are the culprits. I'm going to let myself rest for at least a couple of days, maybe until Monday and hopefully things will be back to normal. Hope someone is still around this weekend!

hi momtopands great to see you here! Well, you have all my sympathy if you're battling dodgy knees. Yep, certainly with mine it responds best to rest first, then strengthening later, so a rest this weekend sounds a good plan. Have you seen a physio too? I'm still re-learning how to go up and down stairs to use my hip joint more than my knee etc but changing the habits of a lifetime isn't easy
. And how is your daughter going now? I don't think I knew what she went in to hospital for, but really hope she's turned a corner and starting to improve. It must be a big worry for you.

ange I bet that it is going to turn out to be super cute!! I hear you about the doctor. I hope that it keeps on getting better with your exercises and rest.

momtopands Welcome!! I am sorry that you have been struggling the past few days and also that your knee is hurting. Your plan to rest it sounds good, but I can understand how you might feel worried about shaking up your workout routine. Maybe you can take these days off and focus on being 100% on plan with your diet and make sure that you are drinking extra water??

I just started my TOM and feel like I have been white knuckling it the past couple days, but I have made really good decisions and I am so thankful that I haven't caved. I need to stay consistent and string a few good weeks together!

well done kfunk for staying on plan when you've been tempted not to. Stick to your plan in June and you'll be settled in the mid 150's by the end

Is there something you're particularly craving, or you're just wanting to eat in general? If I feel like that I try to analyse what would make the craving go away and if there is a particular thing i'll have it, and savour it, or if it's just a general temptation i'll tell myself flat out it's not happening (it's the wondering whether you should or not that's the killer! Also eating a substitute doesn't work - eg you really really want peanut butter but you have avocado instead, so then you've eaten something unnecessary and the craving for peanut butter remains!).

ange Thank you!! I think that I just want to eat in general, I am hoping that when my TOM goes away I will be back to normal. I actually had a few things that I was craving and did exactly what you suggested and ate them slow and savored them!! I will definitely make sure to do that in the future, but for right now I just want to lose my final 20 lbs. and get it over with. I just need to buckle down, plenty of time to indulge my cravings after I get to maintenance!
