YIKES! I got my new scale from Amazon and found out that my weight has just spiked. Grrrrr! That's the largest number I've ever seen for myself on the scale. No wonder my pants have felt tighter.
After that little bump I'm definitely taking my goal this month more seriously. Today, I'm going to estimate my calories for every meal rather than conveniently forgetting to do so after 6pm... I will also put together a grocery list and go out and shop for some healthier foods this afternoon. I mean, that number is making me angry, so the best way to release my anger is to do something about it.
SantaClaritaDiet.. did you get a smart scale from Amazon? don't forget to calibrate before weight in.
Slimmer me.. hang in there and I am sure the scale will go down next week.
flower1..you're halfway to your goal this month. keep up the good work.
momtopands.. It's great that you have a 5K to attend in Apr. It's even better to be joined by family. How many kids do you have?
TooManyDimples..don't get discouraged, keep up the good work and I am sure the scale will go down next week.
ange82much..I like your profile picture. Is cheese your favorite food? LOL
opheliaphoenix..congrats on the 1.2 lb loss. btw, I like your before/after pic, I'm sure you'll have a beachbody before the summer
kfunk6113..good job on .8 lbs.
wantochange..congrats on being your lightest in 5 years. keep up the good work and don't forget to post here. LOL. btw, walking is also a good workout, there are many phone apps that can track your steps.
Woodstock..what's your favorite cheat meals, LOL? I have a weakness for ice cream.
Holding steady at 196.6 today, which is better than a gain. I haven't done the elliptical in a few days, but it started raining yesterday and still is today, so I'm thinking I will probably end up doing my workout back out in the garage again tonight. I've still only been getting down one (2.2L) bottle of water a day, but going to try to get my second one in today before the day is over. We will see. I hope everyone is having a great day!

SantaClaritaDiet It will be a fun event I think. Here's hoping this will combat these moody teen attitudes around here! I know that number on the new scale is frustrating but now you can change things up a bit and move in the right direction!
yangtzer I have 2 kids, a girl and a boy, 13 and 14. The 1K is a walk so i'm going to do that. Not up to running yet. I was surprised that my kids, who i've renamed moody and moodier , wanted to run. They might even run the 5K. My son is in the Navy Sea Cadets so he has a physical readiness test to pass that includes running and i'm hoping that he'll get more serious about training for this 5K so he can pass it!
opheliaphoenix I'm pleasantly surprised that they want to join in and actually run so I think it will be great for us all!
TooManyDimples I completely understand those ovulation woes. Thank goodness they eventually pass!
I'm so close to my 5% goal, only 0.5 away! I am hoping that this weekend will be the time. I'm planning ahead for work so I hope by Monday i'll be there.

Total Loss for Week Three:
So, I went to Costco yesterday and bought so much healthy food! I'm feeling good about what my husband and I can accomplish for our health when we put our hearts and minds to it. I imagine that or first couple of weeks really committing to less calories is going to be a little rough, but I'm up for the challenge.
Dropped a little and back into the green with a weigh-in of 195.6 today. (TOM also started today, so I hope I get to keep the loss and keep moving down, in spite of that happening this week. Fingers crossed! ) I ended up finding a break in the rain yesterday and did my walk instead of the elliptical...got sprinkled on a little on the way back, but it was so light that it was kind of nice and still enjoyable. Didn't hit my water goal again yesterday, but I did at least start on and get in some of the second bottle. Now that TOM is here, I'm already part way through my first bottle in hopes of getting in the second one today to help combat any bloat that may threaten to hang around...lol.

After a super-whoosh, then a week of going up, and finally a drop today, I think i'm now representing where I really am weight-wise. That translates to meaning that I've had enough of this plateau and it's time to move again!!
Joe Yes, cheese is a favourite for sure, so the avatar looks pretty much exactly like me - I definitely 8-2-much of that.....
Ophelia: nice drop. I was wondering how much water you drink? I drink about 2 liters a day (about 9 cups). I was kind of curious as to whether I should be increasing my water intake.
flower1 I reckon I drink about a litre a day, plus a tea and a coffee and maybe a herbal tea. I drank 2L already today because I've been out trekking and it was around 30C. Actually I decided previously that I was going to try drink less water because I always have a glass on the go and it's a habit. My problem with this habit was that I was doing a lot of several-day treks, carrying my tent, food etc, and because I was used to drinking a lot of water then I also had to carry a lot of water, which was heavy. I seemed to guzzle more than other people, hence my desire to cut the habit and get used to drinking less. Since then I twisted my ankle and bust up my knee so I've not done much for almost a year so the water consumption thing doesn't really matter right now!

I've always regained my weight when I got to goal, so am really going to work at getting my mind right for this. My personal goal is to see 143 (normal bmi for my height) at least once on my scale. the focus now is on staying healthy and staying at a healthy weight for me.
I'm actually glad to see the same number today. I was feeling hormonal yesterday and ended up doing some late night snacking out of IF. All on plan foods but definitely over my calorie window and more dairy than is good for me. Thought I'd likely see another increase on the scale so happy not to see one.
