kfunk: I usually end up gaining weight around the middle first and then sort of all over. I took my measurements when I started (waist, stomach, chest and hips) and lost a lot of inches all over. At 120, I ended up wearing about a size 2. At 165 I think I was about a size 10 in bottoms and a large top. I was not able to find a dress that fit because I was quite a bit bigger on top than the bottom (I was 2 different sizes). Around 120-125, I am able to find a dress that fits on the top and bottom which I felt good about so I want to get back there again:)

How is everyone doing?

Goal- 2% seems doable!
Hey flower :)
Up ten pounds here, up to 40 lb free weights, some is muscle, not all, I need a change. It's frustrating to work out daily, watch and record what you eat, and gain ten pounds. This is after maintaining 120 lbs from 130 lbs for five years.

I have two scales, one in NY and one in PA. I always thought the PA one was lower, but they are the same. I weigh later in PA (LS- lower scale)

Jan 1- 128.4 lbs (LS)
Jan 2- 128.9 lbs 2% is 2.6 lbs...
Jan 3- 128.8 lbs
Jan 4- 128.3 lbs snow day!
Jan 5- 127.4 lbs (LS) snow day!
Jan 6- 127.6 lbs (LS)
Jan 7- 127.2 lbs (LS)
Jan 8- 128.4 lbs
Jan 9- 128.8 lbs
Jan 10- 128.5 lbs
Jan 11- 128.8 lbs t.o.m.
Jan 20- 126.0 lbs (LS)
Goal almost met, 125.8 lbs would be 2% from Jan 1st

flower Thank you for the reminder to come back and post!! I said this in the other thread, but will say it again... I am so inspired that you are getting back on track now instead of putting it off like I always do! That is really nice that you didn't have to buy separates any more when you were at your goal weight, with your diet changes you will be back there soon!! At my current weight I am a size 10 on the bottom and a medium on top. When I was 160 (ages ago) I was a 12 on the bottom and a medium on the top, but my stomach was pretty flat and now it is a blob!!! I had so much more muscle back then though, and also sizes have changed. Looks like you are headed in the right direction!!

jenz You are my weight lifting role model, I would love to be that strong to lift 40 lb. free weights. When I work out, which admittedly isn't often, I use 5 lb. dumbbells and struggle! It would be very frustrating to workout that religiously and track your food and still gain. Do you take your measurements? How do your clothes fit lately?

jessie you are making good progress!!

I got down to 172.2 briefly and then gained all the way back up to 178.2, but I think I have a handle on things now. So glad that the holidays are over!

Kfunk - great job - you are almost at your 2%

I had a small bump up today - I don't think I'm drinking enough water

The clothes are tight, not going to lie! :)

It's frustrating. I dropped my calories from 1500 to 1300 recently. I haven't felt good this week so the working out is down. We'll see!

(Try 10 lbs, you can do it!)

kfunk6113 01-12-2018 08:24 AM

jen I hope that you feel better very soon!! I am sure you have already considered everything that is playing a part in the mysterious weight gain, but how much water are you drinking? Have you ever had any lab work to check your Thyroid levels? Have you tried going back to the basics with using a food scale to measure out your food?

You know, I might try that! I was doing the 30 Day Shred videos with the 5 lb marks and would always end up failing before the reps were done, but I would really like to get serious about my fitness levels.

flower I swear by water! I was down to this weight briefly a couple weeks ago but had gone off track over the weekend and gained back to 178.2 and was able to get back down to 172.2 very fast by drinking a lot more water, along with getting back on track with my regular calorie goals.

I measure everything I eat and record everything. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the advice :)

JenFZ09 01-21-2018 07:43 PM

I'm officially cutting. I was hoping to avoid this.

1.2 g protein per lb body weight
1 g carb per lb
.2 g fat
Bodybuilding cut

Your strength should not go up. My reps and weight at the gym both increased, go figure.

1340 calories based on 127 lbs. If I went from 118 lbs to 128 lbs, 5 lbs should be fat and 5 lbs should be muscle.

Goal- 123 lbs, maybe 120 lbs, maybe a lean bulk again.

flower1 01-22-2018 02:25 AM

JenFZ09 - This 2% challenge (thread #121) has been won. I hope you will join us for the new challenge at thread #122.

JenFZ09 01-22-2018 07:40 PM
